In my haste I couldn't see the difference between cache:yes and prefer. I do now! I got a shiny new 4TB red for my cache and was just eager to get it going! I ran out of bays on my server a few years ago so had to use an external usb for a make shift cache and now im appreciating all the nice perks again. I don't see an overflow to my raid happening but i have it set to prefer. Thanks for the info Trurl, very good to know!

Hi trurl, thanks alot for taking the time to reply. I just edited my post to say the issue was resolved. It was indeed poor configuration on my part. I followed the recommendatons made in earlier post for my folder structure and it fixed my problem. I read on another forum that an error 10 on nzbget is related to directory structure. I know this is offtopic but I made an appdata share on my cache in the unraid UI for my app configs. Maybe this should have been made directly onto the cache (/mnt/cache/appdata)? Thanks for your feedback.

edit: Resolved. I noticed there was a subdirectory from nzb in my tv downloads folder and the whole download directory structure was a mess (despite being only 3 apps). After reading around the forum and discovering the best practice is to map apps to a common downloads location on the cache, I reinstalled nzbget and now the appdata folder for it only contains the conf. Downloads are being mapped to /mnt/cache/downloads. This resolved the extraction issues I was having! I changed the umask to 000 as stated in the first post but I haven't been able to download anything successfully yet on nzbget. One of the prerequisites is that there be a share created called "appdata" (https://lime-technology.com/docker-guide/). Using the web interface it's only possible to set up a share on the raid or recognised cache and because I am using an unassigned drive I can't make that share (outside the array). Could this be the barrier preventing the docker from starting up?

I'm having the same issue, my little proliant server is overloaded with 6 disks so I always ran docker on an external drive not in the array. You don't know what you got 'til it's gone

Hey, I reinstalled Unraid a few weeks ago and I am getting this error frequently on Sabnzbd. I initially had the Phaze plugin installed and then I moved to the docker version and I received this warning message on both of them. Could it be something not right with my Unraid? It doesn't seem to be affecting anything - no crashes or bad downloads. Everything is going good now - i formatted my flash and just put a few files like my network, 'super.dat', shares and everything is looking good, I have the new webui and unmenu too. I have been using unraid 3 years and installed most updates - my 'programs' went from packages to plugins etc and I had lots of unnecessary stuff that wasn't been used. Anyways, everything is going good - just want to get 3 apps working now and im happy

Thank you guys, I will try and do a fresh install of unraid on my flash and only add the essential files - like my key etc. Would that be just my config folder minus any packages? I went to stop the raid in unmenu and it crashed again - turned it off during a parity check- hope I didnt damage anything

Hey, I just upgraded my Unraid from the November release to the latest - 14b. I can access unmenu fine but the main webui which is essential to me for rebooting etc can not be accessed. I went to stop the raid in unmenu but that seemed to crash everything so I cut the power, the same problem when i turned it on again. I followed the guide for upgrading by overwriting the files - however I didn't have a "xen" file in my flash previously if that means anything My syslog was too big to attach so I posted it here http://pastebin.com/da4Hnhez Thanks very much, Regards,

Thanks a million for the help mister hexen! That worked perfectly! I did have to shutdown my server ungracefully (just pressed the power button once and it shut down but its doing a parity now) as I had no way to access the UI. Everythings back now, thanks alot

Hello guys, I had to get a new wireless router after a lightning storm fried my last one. The old router wouldn't allow me to dynamically assign IP addresses so i had to go into the network file in Unraid and set it. The thing is the new router (TP Link) uses ranges of 192.168.0.1 whereas my old linksys used 192.168.1.1. There does seem to be an extra entry in the ARP but I cant access any of them in the browser (for tower ui) or putty.. any ideas? Thanks

We dont have many powercuts but had a problem with some fuses lately.
