Ok update. And i think might be getting the issue resolved. What i have done is by removing the bond from my nic and making it a single connection with a fix ip address. Also i changes one of the dns reference points to my route. This seemed to allowed me to load a video with 30 secs. But there is still a few videoa it is having issues with, with a loading time of 2 mins from choosing the video. Question. Would this be down to the Cache drive that i am using. UPDATE: ok I through I had fix the buffering issue, but for the past for hours I have been having issues with my plex. at random intervals, my videos has been freezing. also I see in the PLEX log the following I am current running the Optimize progress to see if this resolve the issue

Please no advice is stupid. Yes i have rebooted my Unraid twice and each time i have tried a few tv shows and films and all of them apart from one tv show act the same. It try to play the video and just before it does it errors out. I am running 1g network and looking at the UNraid it reports that i am only using about 5% at any one time.

Good evening. Juat to inform you that the force inatall didn't resolve the issue. I have tries two differance streaming devices which i know use too work and now both are saying 'Unable to play media' or take over 6 mins to report back that it loss connection. Going back to basic. Is my hardware ok. For thw task i am trying to set it.

to the question regarding the Cache. yes I believe it is going to the cache as at the moment there is a 6gb file. when I look in the docker / Plex settings I see the section for the transcoding has the following /transcoding. but I will confirm this when I get home tonight. and regarding the force update. will I find this within the Docker ? as I have click on the update button within plex and it informs me that the current version is up to date.

I am still using the Trail version of the software and so far I am happy with the OS when I got home today, I discovered that my PLEX Docker ' PlexMediaserver' from Plexinc requested a update, so I updated it. then right after this I discovered that my PLEX streaming started have issue, from freezing, buffering, and starting at the begging of the TV Show. before the upgrade I had a little buffering but now it has become to the point that I am not able to use it. I have check my resources and from the system bouncing from 100% on each CPU in turn, the resources are low. thanks for you reply. late last night I choose to remove it all and start again, but this time I mistakenly choose a different Plex PlexMediaServer I filled in the details for this , for the Trancode and Data location, but left the Plex_Claim Token as default and this seemed to work as I have a working but very slow Plex running. also I think as I was in the middle of transferring over my Films and TV shows at the same time trying to set up PLEX, I think that there might have been a conflict. I will read up on the docker FAQ questions, but at this moment I can't see there I need to enter the URL path for this as it looks like this version does not as the user to enter it.

ok I have done as advice and this time I have documented it and post my results here. in the hope that someone can see my mistake. I am new and still getting my head around the platform, and on of the things I would like to do is set up a Plex server on my Unraid. at the moment I have a plex server on a QNAP server, which is ok, but has is moments. I have looked and found some people talking about installing Plex via a docker or via the Communicably application script but I am not able to get it to work, so is there a simple step by step procedure on how to install Plex, and add any media sources

I would like to say that I have resolve the first issue. if anyone is following behind me. I had to do the following re-create the Boot Flash drive boot into GUI mode on the UNRAND Server set the regional time and place then I click on the Test Trail Icon, and this work. I did try and fix my IP address but for some reason it didn't like this so I have to use DHCP. I will try and fix my IP address once it has finished creating the Array

my mistake there is a file within the config folder called trail.key. I how have tried the following url to active the OS. http://localhost/config/trial.key and I got he following error ERROR, bad or missing key file URL: http://localhost/config/trial.key and when Iook in the log file I see this Dec 5 06:08:09 storehouse emhttpd: error: get_key_info, 586: No medium found (123): fread: /boot/config/Trial.key do I need to re-create the USB Pen drive, and re-request the Trail key ? ps. I wasn't asked for a email address when I requested a trail version. which look like the normal procedure to get a license key. could this be a root course of my issue.

I hope that someone can help, as I am getting very frustrated. I have just build a bootable USB flash drive with UNraid version 6.6.4 and that when well. then I click on Trail version, and the screen flash and took me into the Dashboard. but when I tried and assign a Hard Drive to one of the slots, say the Party slot 1, and then go down to start I see that it is gray out and it informs me that I have to import the Trail key. OK I say. so I go and find this on the root of my USB pen drive, and this is where I am having issues. how do you install the key. I have tryed cut and paste, drag and drop, type on the HTTP://localhost/trail.key but nothing is working. as I want to start testing this as I am looking for a new storage device.

I have looked around and I saw a few people has all ready asked this question but I have not been able to find a answer to my solution. what I would like to do is to plug my USB Brother Printer into the UnRaid workstation and then share the printer on local network to my Microsoft windows. I have done some reading but I haven't see anyone posting a solution to this only suggesting ideals. I don't want to use a VM client to host the print services as I see this taking away the resources from my Unraid I have seen people talking about 'Cups' ? that will allow you to do this but again no one has come back saying that this works. so can anyone inform me if they have this option working and if so how.

I was talking to a friend whom has a Intel Core i7 4770K -16GB DDR3 1600Mhz - Intel Z87 Chipset Motherboard, with 16gb of DDR3. will this do the job ?

this is a general question, as I see that my CPU and Motherboard has no graphical capabilities, can I boot the Unraid into a headless environment on first boot. or will I need a graphics card to set it up for the first time.

Hi the more I read the more I am confused on the right hardware for my build at the moment I am running a QNAS with 12TB of storage, with Plex services to allow me to stream my films, but I have encounter that my server is not up to the job of running PLEX so I am going down the Building your Own. as at the moment I am running my films in 1020 surround sound, but in time I would like to more this to 4K I would like some help on the following for the following I am looking at: CPU: I5 Range Cache: 500MB to 1TB Cache HD Storage: 6 X 4TB Hard drivers for my Storage looking for at WD Red Range Ram: DDR 4 8GB of RAM with expansion to 16GB if need be Raid: Not sure if I need on board RAID power: as low as possible with a module PSU but want I am having issues with at the moment is the right motherboard and CPU. I would like to keep the build below £500 not including the case or HD's any suggestions

at the moment I am at the researching stage of Unraid, but this is a option I would like as stated in the first post. as I also would like to make sure that no virus or Malware gets onto the Unraid storage area. +1 after using unraid for 2 years i would lile some.form of virus/malware scanning software.

I hope that you can help as I am trying to get my head around this I am looking at purchasing the UNRAID software for my home NAS but I am not 100% sure on how the raid works. As I understand it that I can have any six HD in my Raid as long as the largest is no bigger then my Parity Hard drive, and I can add a Hard drive to my Raid at any time and I will see the total total space as free space But what I am not sure is how the Raid works in this case, as I under raid with the concept of stripping the data across all the drivers, but reading about the UnRaid it sounds like the UnRaid will find any space disc space and save the data, and not strip the data. Do I have this right?
