  1. Do you guys use the preclar plugin, and if so, how many passes do you run before adding a new drive to the array? In my Unraid I currently use six 10TB WB My Book, and the seventh is currently preclearing. I do two preclear passes before I shuck the drive, and then I do one pass after I installed the drive internally. When I do the first preclear passes while the drive is still in the USB case I use a fan on top of the case for cooling, and the temperature stays below 35°C.
  2. No, my drives are 5400rpm, they are WD White (WDC WD100EZAZ-11TDBA0) shucked from WD My Book. I guess there is more to it than just the rotation speed of the drives, and the main factor probably is as itimpi said that the larger capacity the drive have the higher the desnsity of the drive is, and therefore it reads/writes more data per revolution, and then I imagine the disk controller have something to do with it too?
  3. In my Unraid I use all 10TB WD White (WDC WD100EZAZ-11TDBA0), I have one parity and five data disks so far. With my setup parity check speed is usually about 150MB/s, yesterday when it last ran it looked likethis: Duration: 18 hours, 50 minutes, 32 seconds. Average speed: 147.4 MB/s

Yes, this would be really nice to see.
  5. No, no unclean shutdowns. And yes I'm still on 6.8.3, isn't that the latest stable version? This is wh at the setting for my Parity Check Tuning looks like, I notice the remark in the "Resume running Array operations on next array start:" seting where it says "Your Unraid release is too old to use this option", seams a bit odd when I'm on the latest stable realease?
  6. I would also like to see this, but it seems Unraid is a bit limited on what's showing via SNMP, for instance it doesn't show any information about the HDD:s like serial numbers and temperatures. I have attached two screenshots from my Observium server, the first one shows what my Unraid NAS reports and the second shows what a Qnap NAS is reporting. My Unraid shows alot of stuff taken from Supermicro IPMI, but nothing seems to be rported regarding the HDD:s
  7. Hi, This morning I notices this message that I've never seen before. I have not made any changes in the Parity Check Tuning setting. Any ideas what this mean? The parity check started one second later seems to run as normal, and is at 62% now running for 10 hours.
  8. Hi, What is the recommended way to replace the USB flash drive? I found this thread, is that still the way to do it. I have a fresh backup of the curren flash drive, so I guess I can skip set 3 and 4:
  9. Hi, Is it possible to get Dynamix Active Streams to show DNS names instead if IP-addresses of the connections?
  10. Hmm, how do I do that? This is what my "Update OS" page looks like:
  11. Hi, I accidedally hit the downgrade to previous version button on the upgrade OS page and I wonder if there is a way to undo that so I don't need to reboot and then upgrade and reboot again?
  12. So... Is this something we simply have to live with, if we access Unraid shares from a linux system we have do disable cache so that the mover doesn't make "stale file handler". Or is there something that can be done on the linux clients side to stop this?
  13. Hi, Does anyone know if it's possible to extract HDD temps using SNMP in Unraid? I have a VM running Observium, but I don't see any HDD relatad information there, if I look a a Qnap NAS a I get both HDD serial number and temperature.
  14. I'm having this exact issue for mounted shares on my Proxmox server. When I copy a file to a Unraid share using cashe drive the share drops from Proxmox, then I use umount -F command for that mounted share and it connects again. Then as soon as the moover moves the file to the array the same thing happens again. When I disable the use of the cashe drive for the same share the issue goes away.
  15. Is the WebUI console bug fixed in 6.8.3, where the console reconnects when you enter the"exit" command?
  16. Oh, I found it, SMB Security under unasigned devices settings. Wouldn't it make more sense if the SMB Security was set to "Yes" or "Yes (hidden) instead of "No" by default?
  17. I'm using the remote mount function of unasigned devices, and when I mount a remote SMB share that mounted share will also be shared as a SMB share by UNRAID, I don't want that. How do I stop UNRAID from sharing the remote mounts?
  18. Yeah, I installed it, and I noted it placed a new cron job in the /etc/cron.daily folder, and that will be placed there on every reboot I presume?
  19. Ah, ok. I added it manually, I have to look into the User Scripts plugin then, thanks!
  20. I adden a daily cron job to copy a folder from a UNRAID share to my backup NAS, and it works fine and I can even see it in the Dynamix Schedules plugin. But what happens after a reboot, will the cron job still be there, cause the linux systen is run from RAM, right?
  21. Here you got what looks to be the same cable, but much cheaper, on the downside there may be long shipping time from china. https://www.ebay.com/itm/0-5M-Mini-SAS-36P-SFF-8087-to-4-SATA-7Pin-90-Degrees-Target-Hard-Disk-Data-Cable/193011984946
