I guess I didn't explain it correctly. The share does NOT show in the Explorer (aka "the network") window, but when I use FlashFXP (FTP) it does show. But that's OK, I'll just ignore the folder for now.

I have been using /mnt/cache/custom since day 1 when I started using unRAID and how it has become a share (when did this happen? I don't know...) but now I am using FlashFXP and own 2 unRAID servers and do site-to-site transfers, and I would like for the "custom" share to disappear again. Before I was using /mnt/cache/.custom but somehow I manage to remove it and use it without a dot since it was interfering with my Plex server (I think it was in the smb-extras.cfg, not sure) but throughout the time and updates of unRAID this "share" (folder) has emerged again and I can't change any settings under the "SHARE" that hides it. Any clues?

Well, I have all my data on 1 drive (from another unRAID server) and I wanted to "balance" the data through all the drives, is that possible? Or could it be a future option?

I guess I'll answer myself.... ProFTPd works with FXP. You need to add at the end of the conf file AllowForeignAddress on

Not sure if this has be addressed before, but I wanted to use unBALANCE today but the PLAN is showing moving everything from one drive to another, it's not splitting even though I have "most free" on my drives and shares. These are new drives and the only difference I see is that they do not have the folders created. Should I create my main share folders? Not sure how to solve this problem. Thanks!

Wow, no replies... Really Lime Technology??? All of the sudden I can't transfer via sFTP my OS installation ISOs because they are greater than 2gb??? I use sFTP (MORE SECURE) than a share, I have my shares READ-ONLY for security reasons and rely on sFTP to copy TO unRAID.

I don't know when this started, but I have version 6.6.3 and now I can't send files bigger than ~2gb sFTP (using WinSCP) and before I could no problem. Is there something wrong?

🤬🤬🤬 This GT 710 will *NOT* work no matter what! I put the GT 210 (pci) back on there and works FINE, no vBIOS, any BIOS (SeaBIOS or OVMF) and any machine (i440fx or Q35) I'm done with NVidia's... Going to buy different motherboard with 3 PCIe full size so I can use the RX 460.

Ok, I have reinstalled Windows 10, used OVMF, SeaBIOS, I've tried EVERYTHING and I still can't get video. Do I need the first GPU to be dedicated for unRAID and the 2nd one for pass-thru? I can't get this to work. I only have 1 GT 710 (I ordered a GT 730 - on it's way) but with just 1 GPU I can't do video pass-thru if it's NVidia? I was able to do video pass-thru with a single GPU when I was using HD 6750 and RX 460...

I did find the USB 3.0/USB 2.0 answer myself, I setup one of my machines USB 3.0 and on my other VMs, both USB 3.0 were greyed out. Now, which USB 3.0 XHCI is best, nec or qemu? EDIT: I didn't have EFI boot on my drive, going through repair and also searching Google to add EFI on my boot drive in case the repair doesn't add it. This is getting *VERY* annoying quick! I have tried EVERYTHING I have found on this website to no success. What's up with NVidia graphics cards??? What makes them so "special" to get error 43's? I asked a few questions, and I know some people know the answer to these, can you please explain the differences and help me configure this VM? I *DONT* want to use anything lower than a GT 730 (or GT 710 if it works) since that's the fastest PCIe x1 I could find, and it's already not the greatest video card to have and want to do some minor gaming on that VM.

So I'm not the only one with Error 43 I see. I get it whether I use VNC as primary display and an NVidia GT 710 as secondary. Did this so I could install the drivers because I wasn't getting any video. I will try again removing the VNC as primary and dumping the ROM and editing the NVidia header... I know I didn't have this issue when I was using an RX 460 but that got moved to my new rig. Worse case I will have to move away from NVidia and look for the best performing PCIe x1 Radeon graphics card... 😩 EDIT: I tried with the ROM from techpowerup.com with no luck. Still getting error 43. I checked PID/VID and they matched, so did the memory and it was even the same brand, Zotac. I ordered the GT 730 (seems to be the fastest PCIe x1) and will try that, paid almost twice as much as the GT 710, I hope it does work, because these cards work on other machines, but not on my VM. The RX460 worked fine, and the one before, an HD 6750 also worked fine with no issues.

I wish I could say this helped, but it doesn't. I need technical help, as to WHAT each feature is or does. An explanation of the benefits, what they are intended for, etc etc. What will SeaBIOS do? What will OVMF do? What are the differences between these? Those kind of answers are what I am looking for. More in-depth explanation. Thanks!

Anybody??? Trying to get (before I return it, ordered the GT 730) a GT 710 PCIe x1 to work, but it's giving me errors. Maybe one of these settings might help?

Not good. After I enabled VNC again it is saying it detected problems and that it didn't start (which is the same message I got after I disabled VNC the first time.) About to delete the VM and recreate it. If I can't get a successful reboot with video (by assigning primary display to GT 710) then I will have to ditch the GT 710 and look for another PCIe x1 card, but I believe the GT 710 is the fastest/best PCIe x1 video card on the market, if im not mistaken. EDIT: WAIT! NO! GT 730 is the fastest, and the one I searched for on Amazon, but somehow I ordered the GT 710, but now I know why, there was none available at Amazon! So yeah, I ended up with a GT 710 instead of the intended GT 730 and it doesn't even work. I guess I will start a return on Amazon and getting the GT 730 elsewhere. Ok, so I setup a new video card, an NVidia GT 710 (pci-e 1x) for video pass-thru on a Windows 10 VM, and I set it up as my 2nd video card and VNC as my primary (so I could install the drivers) but as soon as I remove the VNC and make the GT 710 my primary video card I get blank screen. Is this a known issue and should I leave the VNC and set it as my secondary display and use it that way until this gets resolved?

Ok, so I installed a new unRAID server, and in the process, I mounted the old cache drive to the new unRAID server, and cloned my cache drive which contains all my dockers, vms, etc etc.... In the process my VM's got all whack. I couldn't boot from my Win 10 VM, miraculous my Win2k8 R2 did boot. I tried using the same "settings" from the W2k8R2 but didn't work, so I removed all the controller stuff and what not... Long story short, I now have my Win 10 booting and working, BUT, I did notice some different settings on my machines now. I do know my W2k8R2 had to restart several times, so I am not sure what all changed, and would like if someone would be nice enough to explain to me a few things. I would like to learn about each of these: 1. Machine: i440fx-# (# is version I am assuming) vs Q35-# -- Differences, advantages and features of each? 2. BIOS: SeaBIOS vs OVMF -- Again, differences, advantages and features of each? 3. Hyper-V: Enabled or Disabled -- If I am not going to run VM should this matter and should I disable it? Any advantage of having it enabled or disabled? The rest I pretty much understand, since it pertains to physical hardware types, etc etc, like: USB controller, I use 2.0 (EHCI) since I have no user for USB 3.0 which I might change in the future since I recently purchased a USB 3.0 thumb drive and might be using it in the future. Primary vDisk Bus (which I use SCSI and with the discard='unmap' for trim. Graphics Card: I do video pass-thru, but I had to enable VNC so I could troubleshoot why it wasn't coming up and seeing the behavior it was having. Sound Card: passing it through. And finally but not least, USB Devices: I just pick the ones I want for that particular VM. I also have the Libvirt Hotplug USB installed so I can attach/detach as I wish. Thank you very much in advance. EDIT: Forgot to ask... Is it possible to mix USB 2.0 with USB 3.0 on my VM's? (I have 4 USB 3.0 ports and I would like tho share 2 for one VM and 2 for the other and I have 10 USB 2.0 ports I would also like to share between VM's.) Or do I have to say Win 10 VM is USB 3.0 only and W2kR8 is USB 2.0?

I got my 2nd 1 TB ssd and I wanted to add it to my existing setup which already has 1 TB cache ssd. If I do that, will the content on my 1st cache drive get erased or will it give me the option to copy from one to the other? (Is it RAID-1 what it creates?) Can you pick what to do with them? Can I stripe them? EDIT: Well, you can now do stripe, I read, so that answers that question, the question I need answer is, if I create a "cache pool" will it erase the content of both drives? I need to copy from my original one to the new one.

Sorry to revive old thread, but was this fixed? We are up to version 6.6.1 now, wondering if it's fixed. I had an HD 6450 and everything was working fine. I decided to upgrade to an RX 460 and now my video is 640 x 480 and it won't let me change it. It even detects it as RX 460, but won't let me switch resolutions. I found it kinda odd... and it might be a whole different problem, but just wondering, because I have 2 SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 sata controllers on the other PICe slots and can't take them out to put a video card on there. Thanks!

Good to know. Thanks for the advice on the Adaptec, but I ended up buying 2 ASM1061 and called it the day. The Adaptec is SATA II and I would have kept one of the SuperMicro if I wanted to use SATA II, trying to avoid any bottlenecks, except the drive speed. BTW I wanted SATA III because I am using it for 2 1 TB Crucial SSD's... The 2nd I guess since it was cheap I got it to run the Bluray burner and the parity drive, and move the partiy from the eSATA to SATA cable and use the eSATA from on-board for an eSATA dock I have for file transfer. Hmmm, what do you recommend? Should I run 2 data drives on each adapter (total of 2 + 2 = 4) and 1 data, 1 parity, 2 cache drives and the Bluray burner on the onboard? That way I have the data spread on separate controllers? Would that help on speed? Scenario 1 On onboard (5 int, 1 ext): 5 x data drives, 1 x eSATA available for dock.
