  1. Well...I've got another on the way so we'll see if it's any better.
  2. Simple enough. Thanks! Nope...just to clear. Not preclear. No idea why it took so long, but yup. Took over 5 days.
  3. I'm trying to get Sonarr/NZBGet set up and I'm running into an issue: Everything is set up and connecting, but when I go to add a path for the downloads, there's nothing in the "media" folder. I mapped "mnt/user/Media/TV Shows" but there's nothing in the "media" folder when I go to "/media" and, if I try to go to "/mnt/user", there's nothing in "/mnt" at all. What am I doing wrong here...??? I think I'm missing something when it comes to paths, but I have no idea what.
  4. So, just to update everyone, the clearing FINALLY finished. It took OVER FIVE DAYS for it to clear, but it finally finished and has been formatted and added to the array. I've got another 8TB on the way that I'm going to use to replace one of the 3TB drives, but now that I have enough space, I don't really care how long it takes to clear. I can FINALLY get to work setting everything up! Thank you all for all the help. You're the best.
  5. I am going to swap out a 3TB drive for an 8TB drive in a couple days. From what I understand, I just pull out the 3TB and shove in the 8TB and let parity and everything sort itself out. Right? I've got an 8TB parity drive, parity is built and there's another 3TB and another 8TB in the array already. It took over FIVE DAYS for the current 8TB drive to clear before it could be added to the array!! That's nuts!!
  6. ooo...ProLiant unRAID info...bookmarking that!
  7. Not sure why, but my VM will no longer accept ISOs. I click the dropdown, for either VirtIO or OS, select the ISO I want and click update at the bottom and the button greys out saying "updating..." ...nothing else happens. Anyone else have this happen before?
  8. Alright. I started the "preclear" thing again and it started at 88% of step 2, where it apparently left off before, but after letting it go for a little while, it didn't progress any so I cancelled it. I'm just going to add it. Hope it works this time! Thanks, Walker.
  9. Alright. So, parity FINALLY finished. Think I should try to "preclear" the 8TB again?
  10. I just bought another PSU. Perhaps that'll help. *shrug* At $25, it's worth it to find out. EDIT: I'm running unRAID on an HP ProLiant DL360e G8, btw. In the past, I've had issues with reboots and it was due to a junk PSU...so I thought I'd start there.
  11. Damn thing rebooted again. fml It only had ~8hrs left on building the parity. What a pain in the ass. Can someone peruse this for weirdness? I need to figure out why this thing is rebooting or it's going to be completely useless. tower-diagnostics-20190126-1900.zip
  12. The now unassigned 8TB drive has an option to format, btw.
  13. Alright. New config'd, all retain'd, wonky disk unassign'd, parity being reparity'd. We'll see what happens! Thanks, my friend.
  14. Hmm...interesting...wonder why. I'll have to keep an eye on it.
  15. Yes yes. I know. I work in IT. I know "RAID isn't a backup". I know. But how it is is better than how it was. I need to move shit onto the array to free up space on drives so I can put said drives into the array. For instance, one of the 3TB drives was cleared and brought to the array. It was cleared ONTO the array. It's just a massive shuffling of data. I have offsite backup plans, but I have to get everything set up first. New config. Got it. Sounds perfect. Beautiful. Will get it started tomorrow morning and post the results. Thank you all!
  16. And here's this if anyone wants to see it. All help greatly appreciated. tower-diagnostics-20190124-1726.zip
  17. *sigh* Came home to this... ...a stopped array. Again. wtf Yes, I did miss that. What do you mean "new config"? Wipe it and start over? That's not really an option if that's what you mean. Great. ...that's what I'm trying to get setup...
  18. How do you restart a parity check? Just noticed mine says... "Parity is valid"...but it says the last check was incomplete and gives an error. Doesn't exactly give the warm and fuzzy. Maybe I'll stop the clearing, run a parity check, then when that's done, start the clearing and it'll finish this month?
  19. Hmm... So, what'd I screw up? I'm noticing the rebuild time is now going UP. It took a while to build parity, but not an exorbitant amount of time. Adding this drive?...I don't know if it will EVER get done at this rate. Tempted to skip it but if the only way to do so is to break parity, not sure I want to do that. There's actually data on the array now. Data I don't want to lose. And, can anyone point me in the right direction for my VM connectivity issues? My VMs can't so much as ping the server... Thanks everyone for the help, btw. It is greatly appreciated.
  20. So...the million dollar question: HOW CAN I SKIP CLEARING!? I didn't have to clear my cache drive! Can't I just format the new drive and add it? I'd like to use it THIS WEEK! rofl
  21. And now, for no apparent reason, the array stopped. Time to start clearing all over again!!
  22. Attached. Ok...good to hear something's out of whack. It's back up to 18-ish% now...after 24hrs or so...kinda nuts. I've been using it anyway, but I'd really like to add the drive to the array so I can finish what I'm doing, ya know? Yea, I'm (we're) not talking about preclear. I tried to run that and it took 3 days to get halfway through step two... So, I stopped it and just added the drive. That's what started this "clearing" thing. I've never heard of anything like this. Why is this even necessary? Even my coworkers are like, "why is it even doing that?" We've all added shares to all different kinds of arrays and we're all like, "I've never heard of any file system requiring a drive to be zeroed before it can be added." Is there a way to skip this? Why does it do this? tower-diagnostics-20190123-1555.zip
