  1. Now that I have this running, I would love to read descriptions of how people have this setup in their own homes (i.e. what hardware are you using, stereo receivers and recommendations for someone starting from scratch who is looking do do whole house audio. Is there a forum people would recommend for this kind of info? Thanks, Dan
  2. Thanks - I don't know how I missed that as I read the entire thread! It works perfect!
  3. O.K. I have searched the site and managed to install Perl via unmenu and have everything working great. I have one quick question in the instructions you indicate that you may need to add the following using VI slimserver:$1$oExleBv6$Ux2qBpAanWMqJqUeH2xqp1:1000:100:,,,:/home/slimserver:/bin/bash In my case I bumbled with Vi and didn't figure it out so I used mc selected the passwd file and hit F4 to edit it. I manually typed the above saved it and then everything worked great. Over the weekend we had a power bump and I had to manually type the above again to get everything started. Is there any way to permanently add this line so Squeezeserver works next time I reboot? Thanks, Dan
  4. How do you add perl to unraid without bubbaraid?
  5. I installed bubbaraid and the slimserver package and everything seems to be working with the exception of internet radio. Does anybody know why squeezecenter can't read the internet radio feeds? bubbaraid was able to use the wget comment to download the squeezecenter from the internet so I know the unraid box has the ability to connect to the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dan
  6. Joe, Thank you very much for your answer and your hard work in advancing this great plugin! Dan
  7. Joe, Is there a way to mount an NTFS drive in this unRaid Web version of unmenu? If so I don't know how to do it - or is this something that is going to be added later? I see in the status section that the drives say UN. I am able to mount the drive in your original unmenu add-on. Thanks, Dan
  8. I have a somewhat related question. How do you setup or add //tower so opendns does not try and resolve it as a site on the internet such as tower.com? To work around this I have been typing the ip address of my tower server but I fugure there must be a way to add an exception or something to opendns. Any help is greatly appreciated. Dan
  9. Thanks Everyone!! I guess I was close - once it added the port to url I was all set. Thanks Again! I am amazed by the speed of the reply and how friendly you all seem to newbies like myself. Dan
  10. Can anyone help me with the installation of unmenu or point me to a forum post or wiki on the installation – I have looked and cannot find what I am looking for. I am new to unraid and linux an am wrestling with getting up to speed. I am starting with the free version of unraid and at this time I do not have any drives in the computer (just an old ntfs drive – which I may want to mount using unmenu to copy some files) I tried following the directions on pg 9 of the unmenu thread and here is what I did: I installed unraid using info in the wiki – everything works and I can see //tower from my web browser. I then shut down unraid pulled the thumb drive and installed it in my windows machine. I then created a boot folder on the root directory of the thumb drive with an unmenu subfolder. All three zip files were extracted to /boot/unmenu. When I navigate to this folder in windows all files are “greyed out” and the windows attributes indicate that they are hidden files – is this normal? I then booted unraid and typed cd /boot/unmenu and it said directory not found – so I did cd /boot and I was in a directory so I did mkdir unmenu. I then shut down installed the flash drive in the windows machine and extracted the files to this folder (in windows the unmenu folder was in the root directory of the flash drive – is this correct – the files were still hidden?). I rebooted unraid and typed cd /boot/unmenu and it went to that folder I then typed ls and all the files that I extracted were listed. I then typed uu and nothing happened a standard root prompt returned immediately. I rebooted unraid and nothing had changed – ie no unmenu. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction? Do I need to set folder permissions for the unmenu directory? Thanks in advance! Dan

  13. In the next couple of months I am going to be building an unraid server. Can anyone recommend what size flash drive I should purchase if I want to add some customizations? I saw lime's recommended flash drive brands - what are most of you using? Thanks, Dan
