  1. I'd be quite keen to see this too, I run a Windows domain to manage the various users in my house. Everyone has a VM or two, some private shares and some "whole house" shares. Would be great to use AD groups for UnRAID share permissions. My current workaround was to install Hyper-V (ugh) on my work laptop, spin up a third DC on it, join UnRAID to my domain, then decommission the DC. Hyper-V is free in Win10 Pro and upwards, it's the world's worst hypervisor but as a workaround to get UnRAID on a domain it does the trick. Alternatively, if you don’t have a spare computer you can install Hyper-V on, you could sign up for a free Azure or AWS trial and build a domain controller in the cloud. Once UnRAID is joined you just delete the account.
  2. I understand this is an old thread, but just in case anyone else like me comes across this - it can also be caused when you first start a new VM, and it's attempting to boot off the install ISO. You’ll get a "press any key to boot from CD" prompt, but only for a few seconds, then the boot fails and you get a shell prompt. If you don’t get in to VNC quickly enough, it's easy to miss that "press any key" prompt.
  3. Worked for me also. Linux Mint VM, VNC graphics. Seemed to not like half gigs of RAM (eg, booted with 4GB and 3GB but not 3.5 or 2.5)
  4. I've just ordered a Z10PE-D16 WS, same board but with the extra DIMM slots. I had thought VT-X was enabled on the CPU by default, and isn’t something you can disable in the UEFI. It definitely is on my current Asus board, the UEFI mentions whether VT-X is supported or not, but it's informational rather than a setting. VT-D can be enabled/disabled, as that's a mobo thing. Reading the manual on mine, there is Vanderpool VMX you can enable/disable, which might be it? Vanderpool is an internal codename for Intel's virtualisation suite. It's enabled by default though. This is where I got my info from. My board isn’t actually here yet, but hopefully will be next week so I might be able to help more then.
