Out of curiosity, is there any difference between doing the update from the Docker Tab vs Apps, Installed Apps? The window methods are different between the two.
So sorry @Squid just saw your reply. This prompted me to go see what needs to be updated. Ironically it brings about another issue. When I hit "check for updates" from the docker tabs..ALL the containers just sit at "checking" and spin the refresh wheel. Once I refresh the browser tab after waiting a fair bit of time it'll show what actually needs updated. Used to when hitting "check for updates" on docker tab it would process what containers had updates rather quickly.
I went to "Apps" tab and used Filestash as test exhibit. I went to update it, it popped up this big white screen. It went from SOLID white to the pic I attached. It never "finished" in the GUI. I waited a few minutes, refreshed Unraid Tab and it showed the container had been created 1 minute ago.
On a *maybe* related note, when I click "Container Size" on the bottom of the Docker Tab, it loads but never finishes to show me my docker container size/containers size. Could that be related to the other "lag" I am seeing with containers updating and etc?

How long before it stops responding? 120 seconds exactly?
Once I start to update something it takes literal seconds to look like pic above; then I will leave tab in forefront and touch nothing and wait- several minutes and it just won’t change from above. Then sometimes I’ll wait a minute or two and it will just refresh that little pop out and be completed. No update on live progress as it used to do however at all. It just straight changes from start to above; no percentages moving a number at a time like previous.

You can also try this fix:
Please report back if this solves the issue.
Can you divulge more about this? Are their long term consequences to doing this? Any drawbacks? Seems it affects a lot of the dell servers?

Restored from backup and not running stable release.
EDIT:I am dumb ant can't read. You had a fail at bzroot; below was bzimage issues. Probably disregard below.
I have a T610 here. Might check into this; I had same issue and this fixed it. Not sure what implications, if any, it'll cause later but...

I'm facing the bzchecksum Error after trying to update from Rc2 to Rc4.
Can't boot anymore.
How the heck can I download the rc4 manually without the Creator Tool? I can't seem to find any links?
What brand or type of server do you have out of curiosity? There was speculation about some Dells; so just curious what you have?

I don't use iOS but there are a set of settings that many here have had to put into the smb-extra.conf file to get iOS to work as they need it to. See here for what I mean:
If you are still having problems, start a new thread in the General Support area and I am sure that you will find some iOS/Unraid Gurus who can provide you with some help.
Yeah, I played with it after last post and get a ton of this(in a folder the user has Read/Write access to):

I did a very quick Google (SMB on iOS device) and found this:
https://osxdaily.com/2019/11/04/how-connect-smb-share-iphone-ipad-files-app/
I guess I need to play with that more; Everytime I currently try it’s like permissions are all borked as to what folders I can do what with when logging in as right user. It’s probably me. I’m likely the problem lol

No. IIRC, the FTP service had some special circumstances surrounding it, and the always disabled is the better (and more secure) way of handling it than the previous way where it was always enabled following a reboot
Other than that, if you are really a fan of using FTP you should instead be using something like ProFTPd (available in apps) to use this type of service.
Without going too far out into weeds: I 100% can respect FTPs inadequacies. Do you have, other than ProFTP, any other recommendations for accessing Unraid files other than FTP on a iOS Device? Is there a app I just haven’t ran across that does SMB or something for iOS?

It's by design.
Thank you for followup. 🙂
Is there anywhere that it can be over-ridden for those of us who don't want 1994 to die and are willing to accept responsibility for their own(my) idiocracy lol??

I actually do have a Dell R710, thank you for the link
I updated my original post, just copied the bzfirmware file from the zip on a separate computer. I double checked the sha256 checksum and it matched, when I originally checked the bzfirmware file that was unpacked as a part of the GUI upgrade in unraid the checksum was off.
Well, I ran into EXACTLY the same issue on boot as you...so odd that above fixed for me but the Sha was off...hmm 😞

When I updated via GUI and rebooted I run into:
Verifying bzfirmware checksum ... bzfirmware checksum error - press ENTER key to reboot...
I restored the contents of the /previous folder on my boot USB and returned to RC3 and booted fine, tried the update again through the GUI and same error occurred.
I am going to try and download the update zip directly and unpack just the bzfirmware files and see if that helps.Do you have a Dell T or Rxxx server by chance? I have a T610 and this thread got me fixed. I still have no idea why this wasn't issue before or if it'll cause other issues later amending boot ARGS but

Sorry guys, my intent wasn’t to de-rail thread about USB. I just happen to have poor luck. 😞

Upgraded from rc2 to rc4 and like a previous post mine was also considered an unclean reboot.
Yeah I think mine may have been my flash drive dying. Had to change it yesterday. I think all the writing for update just happened to kill my drive lol. Just my kind of luck though LOL
-
Also, maybe I missed fine print but when I reboot server does FTP turn off every time and require re-enablement on RC2,3,4? Is that by design or?

It wasn't clean. A diagnostics file should be on the flash drive (logs folder) with today's date that should basically have why
Thank you Squid. 😀
(I probably need to hunt down and get a spare drive made ; I know how my luck goes lol)

Restarted Unraid using Reboot on Main tab. When sever came back online it kicked off a parity check on its own. Is that normal behavior for RC4? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it initiate parity check on a clean reboot before?

This is fixed in the next release.
Pardon my ignorance; to whom(or what) is it will be fixed I next release directed to?

I don't have an iPhone, but use an iPad with iPadOS. It doesn't give issues and clicking on menu items works as expected.
Not sure why IOS would be different.
This will be fixed in the next version.
I think iOS is different because we have to pinch and zoom in and out to pick what we need/move around as we can’t particularly see it all at once. It doesn’t like that I don’t think; throws it off.

Touch targets for menu items (Dashboard, Main, etc) still require multiple taps in order to actually work on iOS.
I have my server to load the Main page by default. New for rc4 is if I try to open any other page by long pressing and opening in a new tab, it just opens Main again.
the video shows me trying to tap Dashboard repeatedly and then trying to open a new tab and having it load the Main page again in the tab.
5 hours ago, Darksurf said:I’ve personally noticed that touches do not perfectly align to the webpage. Physical Tapping notification counts on the far right results in the touch event happening a little to the left of the touch missing the button you’re trying to touch. This is at least what’s happening on my iPhone 13 Pro.
Concur- it’s very hard to navigate Unraid GUI via Safari on an iPhone. Not sure if it could easily be fixed though

RC4 installed seemingly quick. Placebo- GUI moves about faster. Winning: the nchan thing is gone.
Thanks folks!

What browser? Try a different one to see if the same results happen
Chrome on my Mac Mini. Will try Safari and see if anything changes. Probably going to just move to RC4 too. 🙂 will let you know though. Thank you!

Sounds like an Internet connection problem, interfering with the download.
I guess it could be. It never was pre 6.10 and 100% started the day I went to 6.10. Literally never happened before. I wonder if it wasn’t nchan thing? I’m gonna roll to RC4 and see if it fixes it.
-
It did this on 6.10RC2 too but is anyone else seeing docker updates freeze like this, the GUI? The update actually completes, behind scenes, as long as I wait long enough… the window shown used to update live as each piece was downloading. Now, more of then not it does this…just hangs until I close it and go back to do something else.

I realize it’s been discussed many times but this nchan thing is bad 😞

To add: Also noticed if I go to apps tab, pull up a specific app and update it that way it doesn't seem to translate and show that on the docker tab that I went to Apps tab and updated a app. Docker tab continues to show "Apply Update" Not sure knowing that helps anything either but...
