There were over 700 empty folders. I just deleted them manually using krusader after sorting folders by size on each disk. Probably not the recommended method...

I have a problem with empty folders spread across multiple drives. The .mkv is only on one drive while the movie folder is on 3 drives. Is there an easy way to delete all the empty folders?

Is it possible to move the view part all the way to the left? So much easier to have the browse part next to the share.

as far as I can tell the intel card only has one input port? I have all my drives attached to the expander, so a totalt of 8 drives + 4 SSD. Will be adding 2 more drives soon. Edit: Turns out I have no clue on what dual link on the expander is lol

Thank you. Turns out the LSI 9211-8i I bought is fake. Probably why it gives me CRC error all the time on all my drives. No error when connected to motherboard, so it looks like the lsi card is faulty. So I am having a hard time deciding on what to buy. I have an areca 1880i that I cant figure out how to use with unRaid so then I need a new card. No clue on what disk index is and were to find it 🤣 There is a second hand Dell H310 being sold not far from me and there is always the option to buy a new 9211 or 9207 off ebay with the risk of it being fake again. Dos it matter which one of these cards I buy to use with Inte Expander RES2SV240?

Can I use an Intel Raid Expander with the LSI 9211-8i card to add more than 8 drives? I have the expander here that not in use atm and I want to add 14 drives to unraid.

Can someone tell me what disk index is and were I can find what my disk index is? I am trying to set up SMART using an ARECA card and I need to type inn disk index. I looked in the Areca bios, but nothing there named disk index

ok, this is driving me crazy. There is so much information in this thread, but most of it is really old so not sure whats needed to make this work with the new version of unRaid. Can someone please point me in the right direction? JBOD or Passthrough disk in Areca? Any other settings in Areca I need to change? Do I need the 60-persistent-storage.rules? Then I add this to user scipt and run at startup? cp /boot/60-persistent-storage.rules /lib/udev/rules.d udevadm control --reload-rules udevadm trigger

I bought a LSI card of ebay. How can I tell if the card I bought is fake or not?

Hi. I am on RC8 and want to use a areca 1880i. Do I just follow the instruction in the first post to get it working with smart and temp reading?

I have a Areca 1880i card I want to use with Intel Raid expander and unRaid. Can I use the Areca card and add drives one by one to unRaid like I can when connecting the drives directly to my motherboard? Will I get smart status and temp readings when using Areca?

Regarding the download path: I will add a torrent folder so the path will be like this: shared/downloads/torrent/completed/tv/ shared/downloads/torrent/completed/movies/ I set split level to automatically split only the top four directory levels as required? Then all content in these folders will stick together? completed/tv, completed/movie, /tvshows/season and movie/moviefolder

My share is called shared. This is the one avaliable for my dockers and is were my downloads and media folders are located. The reason I have downloads and media within the same share is to use hardlinks with torrent client and sonarr/radarr. If I make different shares for tv/movies/downloads hardlink wont work since it has to be inside the same share from what I have been told. I would have preferred to have it as 3 different shares with 3 different split lvl based on the folder structure but then I cant use hardlinks and every download takes twice the space on my drives. I might be misinformed regarding hardlinks?

I see. So if this is my setup, what lvl do I need to set to keep all related files within a season on the same drive?

Seen so many videos and pictures from others unraid setup, and they all have nice looking icons for their dockers and for their plugins under the settings tab. How can I add custom icons?

I need some help with setting the correct split level and taking advantage of cache and hardlink when using rtorrent, sonarr and radarr This is my folder structure shared/media/movies/movie folder/.mkv shared/media/tv/tv show/season/.mkv shared/downloads/torrent/incomplete shared/downloads/torrent/completed/tv or /movies I see a lot of recommendations on making separate shares for tv/movies/downloads but from what I understand I can only use hardlinks within the same share? So what is the best way to make sure that related files is in the same movie folder, and at least all episodes within a season is kept together? Can I make use of my cache drive with this setup for downloads?

I want to prepare for my unraid setup. I was planning on using pass through disk in Areca 1880i but there seems to be no support for SMART using pass through. So now I am about to order a LSI 9211-i8 card. I have been reading a loot about this card and how to flash it but I cant figure it out. My motherboard is asus b85m-g and I am running windows. Will this give me any problem? Can I just use the HBAFlash.bat and be done with it? I also read something about this card not supporting spin down on drives. Is this the case?
