My UNRAID server corrupted a vm a couple of days ago and I had to wipe that vm (i have 2 windows 10 vm's) Once I'd finished setting up the vm I noticed one of my shares had become inaccessible after some tinkering it became intermittently accessible. I'd been pulling my hair out for hours. I noticed it was only 1 share that was effected and it was the same on both vm's and my phone. I stopped any docker that might use the share, then I renamed the effected share and set up a new share to replace it (making sure it was on the same harddisk to avoid long file transfer) Then I used dolphin in docker to move all the files across (9tb on a 12tb drive took about 30 seconds) after that I checked everything had moved and deleted the broken share and restarted my docker apps

Its just crashed and now won't boot properly. I put the same usb in a different pc.... boots just fine..... WTF Swap it back to the server and exactly the same. Ipv4: my . ip . Address Servername login: _ But no response from ip and the vm's dont show up. This is has been happening for a while.

Unraid stalls and becomes unresponsive for 15 minutes or more at a time. All vm's unresponsive. Cpu usage goes to 1 - 2% It often seems connected with files transfers. At times it has crashed the Aquntia 10gb nic and this will cause it to fail to boot properly or so it seems though one time it turned out to be a network.cnfg file on the usb had corrupted (cause or effect???) Other times just pressing reset a few times is enough. Update, It's now fixed see the steps below

I'm starting to think my issue is to do with one of my user scripts. Anyone know if there is a way to know what cores a user script would run on? Seems like it might be pegging a VM core even though that's set in the cpu isolation menu. There definitely seems to be a difference between what the vm is doing and the unraid dashboard sometimes. (Overclock is now off and I'm going to think about going back to a different unraid build but that gets painful)

Update. My server has been sat for a while like this. In the vm I can resize the window that's open but can't even get the start menu up. The UNRAID UI opens on my phone but docker and vm manager and even the dashboard aren't accessible. So this time it actually has crashed. Like I said I'm running a BETA though and a slight overclock so 🤷

Is it all earthed correctly. Maybe an unearthed mixer? I had a similar (but not exactly) issue recently. (and I've seen the exact issue when I was a DJ) I am running my server from an inverter (when the sun was out) but the monitor is running on the grid every time the sun came out the VM would crash but the rest of the system was fine. I think it was earthing the PC through the HDMI cable. It was a temporary setup because my main inverter had failed. Went back to a good inverter that is designed to earth to the grid and everything was fine again (even the poor gpu) Pop's and clicks..... just a thought. Or Are you running a Beta version?? I'm now getting a similar ish issue again but the whole system just sort stalls. Nothing crashes it just pauses for a minute or two. If I'm watching YouTube or something on the VM the video will freeze. Handbrake in docker is busy on my machine but I look and it's just sat mid encode at 0 fps, my other vm is normally rendering but if I check I see 0 cpu usage and I can do things with open tasks but not much else. Then a few minutes later it all just goes again. I get some task pinning a few random cores but no idea what it is and can't check because unresponsive. I'm quite sure that this is because I'm running the beta (6.9.0 b25) (29 is unusable for me) I'm stuck for now (maybe until the stable version comes out) It's not the end of the world though as plex still works fine and nothing actually crashes. I just can't use the VM for 2 minutes a day and no work gets done for a couple of minutes. (No it's not anything to do with earthing like above)(unless something is fried)(hope not because threadrippers aren't cheap)

@spaceInvaderOne fancy doing an update? at this stage i would be happy with any elec or android (save me from buying yet another dodgy tv box) i have a gt710 i think would do fine for playing video with kodi (if emuELEC worked i could get a better card) i wanted LibreELEC with gpu passthrough. the stock libreELEC runs fine in vnc but when the gpu is passed through it just displays errors failed to start xorg.service dependency failed for fluxbox window manager

Update. Changing the pcie ACS override gets it to boot but no image is displayed.

I'm getting the same error when trying to setup a windows vm with i440fx4.2 using a 1080. It's the only GPU in the system. (First gen ryzen) I've been right through Spaceinvaderone's videos and can't see anything I'm missing. I've got my bios rom edited and added and the windows install is a manually added drive borrowed from my threadripper system (previously used as a vm in unraid)

depends on use case but yes you could. for me i never use the download. i just want sync. i have mine set to sync - mnt/user/ and download - mnt/user/download but for me i sync folders that are in /user as separate jobs. so your question is not an easy one to answer but i would say try it and then tell us if there is an issue.

Edit..Update.. I forgot that i had posted this.. It's now fixed and it's very simple, go down a couple of posts to see the solution. I'm getting an error 'Agent Run Out of System Notify Watchers' (this basicly means i have to many subfolders to watch them all so it watches none) the Resilio forum says i need to do this by entering code but it assumes i'm running Linux OS. I'm not sure how to add it. (i guess as a variable) under linux i should add this text '' fs.inotify.max_user_watches=12000 '' to the sysctl.conf file but i don't think it has this file under docker (or i cant find it anyway) if anyone has any ideas please.....

so i need to add the preset like this " Custom/General/PresetName " ?

i'm getting the same issue. i've uninstalled and deleted the data. re-setup, still the same. i normally use a custom preset for h265 but it seems to fail no matter what preset i use or how many times i rename it. normal tasks manually add are fine but watch folder tasks always fail the only errors i'm seeing are the ones someone else mentioned (08deaner i think)

Can you add an option to select a different gpu to be displayed please (even if we have to add the id manually in a text box) I have 3 gpu's installed at the moment 1 for each vm and 1 for plex I would like to at least see what the plex one is doing but at the moment i only get the one i know is mostly idle. If i could just see all 3 that would be even better i guess. This will be super handy if i can get it working, thanks for making it.

Was it actually answered because all I see is 4 pages of script. If you have the answer and the time to say you have the answer then could you be a pall and tell me because I literally don't understand. It's late and I'm new to this. I've reformatted and then copied the same 9tb back across at least twice now. The (pregnant) Mrs wants to know why plex is down and what was wrong with windows. Can you be a friend and post the answer.
