  1. Ok, scratch that. It seems that the NFS share gets reverted.... SO I am back to not being able to export one of my User Shares. Would anyone have an idea of what to check for this issue?
  2. Just as an update, I was able to manually edit the /etc/exports file and export the user share, but I am still curious as to why this issue was occurring, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks,
  3. Hello, I am running UnRAID 6.9.2 . I am trying to export a NFS user-share. Most of my user-shares I have been successful in exporting; however one share, whenever I change the Export value to 'Yes' and hit APPLY, it reverts back to 'No'. I am at a loss as to why this is happening. As I wrote, other shares are correctly exported. Could there be something I am missing? I checked the Log in the UI and did not see any errors related to this share. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks,
  4. Hello, I wanted to update anyone interested in this topic. Following the wonderful suggestions in this thread I was able to recover everything important. My failing USB drive still had enough life left that I could copy the following files: disk super shadow I lost everything else, and after each single file copy, the USB would unmount.... Regardless, when I copied them into my newly created USB flash disk, everything just sort of worked!! Since I had never requested a new key I was able to request a key right from the GUI and one was sent to my e-mail for the new USB disk. I am going to set up a scheduled task to make automatic backups of my USB drive from now on. Thanks again for your assistance trurl!
  5. Thanks for that. Fortunately I do have a backup copy of my license file. I will have to figure out how to get the docker stuff reinstalled.... I recall it was a bit involved the last time I did it, but as long as I can get my data back it should be ok. Thanks again!
  6. Hello, Apologies for resurrecting an almost 3 year old thread; but I am in an identical situation: My USB Flash Drive became corrupted and the files on it cannot be recovered. I did not make a backup of my config. I do have emails of my daily status checks so I have a good idea of which drives are parity, cache and data. I was running 6.9.2 I believe. I am trying to follow the suggestions in this thread but I am confused on how to recover my user shares? I get that the data may possibly be still on the drives, but how do I get those files attributed to my shares? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  7. I had the exact same issue. I had to run the balancer in the webGUI to get it to use all of the disks. Go to the 'Main' tab and click on the first cache disk. Scroll down to 'Balance Status' and enter: -dconvert=single -mconvert=raid1 Then click 'Balance'. This took a day or two before the change took affect for me. The above command changes the 'data' format to JBOD and the meta-data to RAID1. From what I read, the recommendation is to always leave meta-data to RAID1.
  8. Hello, I am running a unRaid 6.6 and noticed that my server does not show up under Network/Computers on Windows 10 computers. I can reach it with the IP address of course. For my macOS computers, the server automatically shows up. The I run a Seagate DP-6 NAS device and it shows up on both my Windows 10 and macOS computers. Does anyone know if there is a special setting I need to use to get unRaid to broadcast itself to Windows PCs?
  9. Thanks everyone. It seems that the issue was that new files were failing to be written to the Cache disk because there was insufficient free space on the Cache disk. However, because the free-space on the Cache disk was greater than the 'Minimum free space' setting, new files were not getting sent to the Data disk. This does strike me as an area for enhancement. It is normal to expect that if there is insufficient free-space on the Cache, the file should just be written to the Data disk.
  10. This explanation seems to fit with my observation. I did not select the 'Prefer' setting, it was the default for some reason. When I set it to 'Yes' AND ran the 'Mover' I was able to resolve the issue.
  11. I read the post that you linked to, and it is consistent with my understanding. In the original case when 'cache' was set to 'Prefer' the 'overflow' files should have been copied to the array. Instead I got an 'Insufficient space' error. Perhaps the issue is not with the 'cache usage' setting but with the 'cache minimum free space' setting?
  12. Hello, I am running unRaid 6.6 with a Pro license. I have been getting 'Insufficient space' errors when trying to copy files to one of my shares. The share was set up to split any directory but had the 'cache' setting to 'Prefer'. Once I changed the 'cache' setting to 'Yes' the issue went away. I am a bit confused by this. I would have expected that when the cache was set to 'prefer', new files would automatically be copied over to the array without giving me an error. Am I doing something wrong or have I misunderstood how this works? tower-diagnostics-20190408-1106.zip
  13. This is the solution. Thank you! I will try and figure out how to mark this topic as solved.
  14. I did change the device in the 2nd slot. Let me stop the array and see if I can increase the number of cache slots.
  15. Hello, I am running Unraid 6.6.7 with a Pro license. I cannot add more than 2 cache slots. The option to set the number of Cache slots is greyed out for some reason. I am hoping someone knows what I could be doing wrong. Thank you tower-diagnostics-20190328-1016.zip
