The only software changes i did is an pluginbackup app from community if i remember correctly...

Just after plugin the USB enclosure from orico , the array cannot be stopped so i had to force power off with the button. In fact im pretty sure is not a hardware problem at all , more than 1 year stable and everything Crash when plugin an USB 3.0 enclosure? Pretty strange... Cant this driver be repaired??? Being honest, a lot off users have freezin or crashing unraid problems, It seems like the OS is not stable at all ,i just looked 3-4 forum Pages and they are pretty generic Im just running a full smart test in every Drive , but i Hope i Will be able to copy my tv and movies This machine is in a rack enclosure with only 1 power cable and 1 dac 10gb cable, so that rule out external changes. IF i boot with array stopped the error is gone , It only happens when i start the array ,even in safe mode.

the only strange thing that i see is unraid api using 10.9 gb of virtual memory and 6 cores at 100% ,but in "top" , core ussage is 0.6%

memtest 4/4 is finished and has 0 errors , im pretty lost , the error dont show until i mount the array and pool even in safe mode could it be anything else? the box is disconnected and the error keep happening

its on 2 of 4 pass and it has 0 errors , the error started after i pluged the usb 3.0 enclosure ,could it be that ? i mean could it corrupt something ?

another day, another problem can anyone explain to me why unraid dont stop the array ,dont reboot and show kernel panics? the only thing i did is plug a 3.0 usb external case, but even with he cables disconnected unraid dont work anymore. array dont do parity check no matter how many times i click ,the system dont respond and only can be shut down plugin the power or pressing the power button to the limit xDD tried safe mode and the kernel panics still happens. can anyone guess what is causing the kernel panics???? funny thing is dockers start and unraid boot up "properly" mercedes-diagnostics-20240620-1459.zip

yet again more problems with unraid ,like the ZFS , the old igpu reboot and the list goes up... sigh. Before you ask me to check the system is the third machine i try unraid and have problems on... which kinda point to unraid at all? asustor 6604T ,currently working with unraid , seems ok but thorw strange logs as if cpu fail this one erying motherboard checked at 200% ram cpu etc with windows for more than 3 months ,0 issues 0 memtes errors etc. and the old supermicro board. anyways im gettin segfault errors ,my guess is dockers ,but seems like they all are "degrading" ,im uploading the diagnostics in case anyone find something btw ZFS problem still persist ,when copy or readin data ,the speed goes up and down nonstop. i still have no clue at all hope someone can help mercedes-diagnostics-20240514-2230.zip

seems like the last update have some problems ,i was copying data and im unable to reboot the machine ,not with the button or the console if this trends continue i will need to seek other distro ,i need stability...

i need any advice on how the f*** my machine can run *full speed* (or close enough) with btrfs raid 5 but with zfs the speed is up and down every 3 seconds drives are mixed ,but all of them work flawless in btrfs ,and not in zfs ,i have no explanation Also i checked bottlenecks and i see none ,this motheboard is a erying i5 12500h with turbo off (turbo on is the same) 32 gb ddr4 3200 hyper X beast ,and for the drives i use a nvme to sata converter ,yeah is not the best option but the only pci express x16/x8 is for the intel x520-1 card. Drives are al 4*8tb HGST shucked except 1 toshiba nas 8tb drive also is not a pci express bottleneck and is not the nvme to sata converter. im open to suggestions ,until its fixed i will remain in btrfs raid 5 i guess . Also checked drives/controller with the diskspeed community tool and everything was perfect. iperf3 ruled out network problems ,and even if they were network related i guess btrfs would also have problems ? ill attach some screenshoots of a 60gb file copy so everyone can understand better. with and without jumbro frames the speed is the same ,so... could if be the samba options? server multi channel support = yes aio read size = 1 aio write size = 1 interfaces = "192.168.1.5;capability=RSS,speed=10000000000" thank you in advance. sorry for language ,im from spain mercedes-diagnostics-20240218-2235.zip

i guess everyone is lost as i am my bad for buying crapsustor hardware . If anyone is interested ,i swapped this asustor trash for a MoDT erying chinese board with 3x nvme all of the populated and all of them full speed at the same time (dont share lanes) and i5 12500H cpu for less than 400$ and it work flawless out of the box, in a jonsbo N2 with a lian li psu and sata to nvme adapter +2nvme drives and 5*8 TB units. same space as the asustor ,5 to 7 times the performance , same noise too. Asustor just fails and thats all the good things about it XD feel free to close the thread , sorry for bothering you all guys and girls Merry Christmas

yep ,its a passive j4125 ,never went over 70ºC ,also the fan is thermo regulated by the cpu heatsink ,so yep ,no doubts there. also bear in mind the machine has been powered on for almost 2 years give or take. its a cpu /chipset/motherboard failure?

stupid question , could it be the nvme drive? or it has nothing to do with drives?? , i used a nvme from steamdeck (64GB) to run the array on it ,but finally gonna remove it tomorrow , it should work cause its a nvme drive but... you never know

how many times? yeah it always pass the four full test ,i also tested 1 memory 2 memory ,crucial ,and the stock one (which is the one inserted right now) also tried single side ,double side etc. if its a memory error im gonna lost it it failed with asustor native OS ,with xpenology ,with truenas , with simple linux and windows installs and i guess unraid too now :((( to be clear ,even with errors the machine dont seem to "crash" i just shut down cause its gonna be a backup offline server ,but im quite worried its really broken ,cause its out of warranty V_v

i did it on my own ,thank you for 0 help guys and yes ,you can run plex HW with a supermicro board with ipmi video rerouting and everything . Goodluck if anyone has this problem ill keep the solution to me.

hello , i posted in the main support forum but no one give a crap .i have a supermicro mobo with ipmi and remote control. Everytime i try to enable hardware transcoding the full box hangs and i need to do a hard reboot. is there a way to enable quicksync in unraid with a supermicro board?. specs are i7 6700k+supermicro X11SSH-F +16gb NON ECC +2 sas 9210-8i IT mode ,lots of hard drives 2 cache SSD and a 10 gbps AQC ethernet card. is there a way to enable it or there is no way to do it? ,could it be the reason why everything ,included remote control hard freezes?

still hangs at boot with igpu enabled, tomorrow i will try the old unraid version ,and if not i will go back to ws2016 again or other OS

Update : it finally booted and plex server got running , i just enabled every option in the integrated gpu menu in the bios and seems like it worked. i can also instal plex official and run it without hangs .ill try to use the hardware transcoding and update/close this topic.

just if anyone can help me a little bit ,if i plug a screen like i did with windows server 2016 ,the server hangs again when unraid is about to show the IP and the hostname , i stop seeing the refresh after the /usr/sbin/winbindd -D thing Is really the IGFX causing all of this? the remote control losing the vga output and unraid becoming unstable to the point i have to do a hard power off from the supermicro remote control to regain the machine????

hello, My unraid box hangs completely every time i install/run/try to watch a movie (all of the above) . This started to happen since i bough the plex Media thing to try the hw encoding . The machine is an i7 6700k in a Supermicro X11SSH-F 16GB dd42133 non ECC 2x 9210-8i in IT mode and a lot of HGST drives from 2tb up to 4 tb plus a SSD cache of 500gb and a 120gb ssd drive for the system/appdata/docker/VM on it . i know the cpu "isnt" supported ,but up to now i didnt have trouble running anything in this machine. in fact in windows server 2016 everything worked fine ,i just was annoyed by the samba ram cache problem. also when i try to install binhex plex or plex media server oficial ,both show the "action" button ,even if i delete the folders manually. question is: i read that many ppl have troubles with the new unraid 6.9.x ,myself included at the beggining. should i try the old version of unraid? question is ,how can i know the source of the problem ? each restart the log empty so i can´t see what cause the problem. Even the supermicro remote control lost the video signal ,which trouble me a lot
