  1. How do I get the diagnostics? Also, IDK if it was related or If I was just having bad luck today. But after the last restart I got the disk was unmountable. Followed a process for repairing the XFS file system and got it mounted again and it looks like some of the problems are gone. So If someone still has issues check to see if your XFS file system is corrupted
  2. I'm having this same issue. But I never installed the network stats plugin so idk what to do for troubleshooting. every day or all my shares disappear. Rebooting brings them back but they don't stay for long. Any ideas???
  3. Hello all! I am having some issues getting Wireguard to work on my unraid server. I have been searching all kinds of wireguard threads and nothing I have done has helped. So, I want to make this clear that I don't think this is any kind of bug or error in the wireguard plug in. I think its more likely that there is some setting in my greater internet setup that's preventing this from working. (I think this because I tried setting up wireguard on a RasberryPi with pivpn a while ago and couldn't get that to work either). So, This will be a long and hopefully very detailed post about my whole internet setup in hopes that someone knows the magic thing I need to do to get this working. My internet provider is Century Link, and I have Fiber internet. So my internet hardware starts with an ONT (Optical Network Terminal). This is the box that turns the fiber optic cable into a normal RJ-45 ethernet cable. Then, the ONT is connected to a modem/router combo provided by century link that is setup in "transparent bridge" mode. Then, that is connected to my Linksys Velop router (parent node) There is also another Linksys Velop router (child node) in my system. Then that is where my unraid server resides. I followed the quick start guide to the letter and no luck. I have setup a duckdns account and have a subdomain and all that. I am able to ping that subdomain just fine. However, when I go to add a peer and create the config for a client device they never work. I tried creating one for my phone. I used the remote tunneled access but was not able to access the internet, the Lan, or my server. And in the vpn manager on unraid that peer profile continues to say "last handshake: not recieved" I have my port forwarded to my server from my linksys router. I am a novice at any of this networking stuff so I am sorry if I missed some part of the needed information. If you need more information about any of my server settings or router settings or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. I have been trying for many hours to try getting this working and I can't figure out what to do next. All help would be awesome. Thank you in advance!
  4. So I just got a cache drive and put it in the array. How do I copy the vdisk1.img onto the cache drive? and how do i keep it from being moved back to the array every night?
  5. Hello, So I am getting some of the kinks out of my vm setup and I noticed some lag while trying to play a movie from a "movies" share thats on the same disk (disk 1) as the vm domain share. So the VM instance is also on disk 1. I want to move the VM vdisk to disk 5 so disk 1 in the array can focus on playing the media and disk 5 can be responsible for the VM. the path for the VM disk is "/mnt/user/domains/Windows 10/vdisk1.img" is this just as easy as changing that to say vdisk5.img? I am brand new to unraid so have very little experience and knowledge so any helps and step by step how to's would be really appreciated!
  6. Okay so here's the setup: Intel Pentium G4560 8gb gddr4 ram gigabyte h270-n wifi mini itx EVGA GTX 1050 ti combined 18 tb of hard drives (4tb parity and 14tb data) The goal: Have UnRaid handle the NAS section of this then have a VM with Ubuntu that will act as a Plex server (using the network drives of the unraid NAS). The Problem: When setting up the VM I pass through the graphics card only there is no sound. When I look in the settings of ubuntu it says sound output is going to "dummy output." When I play for example a youtube video the video will play normally but not have any sound. So, I stopped the VM and looked in the settings and also passed through the "NVIDIA GP107GL HD Audio Controller" under the sound card section. However, when I do this, video playback and audio get messed up. The video will stutter horribly and not play while the audio is very choppy/stuttering. It will play a single sound roughly 3 times a second while the video is slowly stuttering along. It's difficult to explain so I will include a link to a youtube video showing the problem. I have also included screenshots of my settings for the VM in case I did something wrong there. If you have any idea whats going on please let me know or offer suggestions on how to fix this. This is my first experience with UnRaid and Ubuntu so I am very much a noob at this stuff. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!! YouTube video showing the problem:
  7. Okay, first a warning that I am completely a noob when it comes to UnRaid and ubuntu So if something is simple and easy I apologize. (Also for responses please keep in mind I've never used linux before so be gentle). Okay now down to the problem. I have unraid running on my server with a VM of ubuntu. The goal of this machine is to be NAS (with unraid) and Plex server (through ubuntu getting the media from the unraid shares). I installed ubuntu and got it running. However, if I try to play a movie in the video player it will not play anything resembling smoothly. The audio stutters like 3ish times per second consistantly while the video plays at a snail pace. (example: if the video says "the dog" it will play like t-t-t-t-t-h-h-h-h-h-e-e-e-e-e d-d-d-d-d-o-o-o-o-o-g-g-g-g-g). I installed Plex and the same thing happened playing movies in there. I also installed VLC and playing movies though VLC helped improve the quality quite a bit to almost watchable but still stuttered. Im running on ubuntu 18.04. Any advice for what I can do would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other information regarding this let me know and I'll be happy to give that info. Again, the goal of it is to be a Plex server so I really need to fix it in ubuntu and not rely on the VLC player.
  8. Thank you for the help! I was able to figure it out that SMB wasn't active on my windows machine so turning on SMB fixed the problem and I am able to see them! thank you again!!
  9. Hello! So word of warning I am brand new to the unraid software and just installed it today so if something is super simple I apologize. I am trying to setup a VM to run ubuntu on my unraid server. I went into the "isos" share and set export to yes and set it to public. However, I'm unable to see the isos share on my windows 10 computer that's also on the network. Can someone help me figure out whats wrong and how to fix this? (Note: when I go into my routers connected devices I see the tower but it still doesn't show up on my windows 10 laptop).
