  1. This is the email you get when you donate. It explains how to upgrade. Your newznabID is F22FB8 you can enter it in the site-edit page when you have installed or upgraded to newznab+, the screen looks like this http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6165047/2012-01-29_145321.png Once entered, the next time you run an update of binaries/releases the latest user contributed regexes will be pulled down into your installation. If you are upgrading from newznab classic and wish to retain your database, you will need to run the patches in the /db/patch/0.2.1-0.2.2, 0.2.2-0.2.3 and 0.2.3 folders. For support or information on how to quickly fill your index grab someone on IRC using the chat link http://newznab.com/chat.html

  8. I did my first Bitcoin transaction today. Bought a Nzbs.org acct for .45 BTc. I hope I get it.
  9. BitCoins are made using, what in the Marine Corps calls PFM. (Pure F***king Magic. You can "mine" BitCoins by prossing algorithms . So you make them out of thin air. Kinda like the Federal Reserve. The mining set up should produce about 200usd in Bitcoin per day. If I had 28K I could buy a mining rig, stuffed to the brim with asic processor and retire. Have a look. http://www.butterflylabs.com/ Any BitCoin miners in the forum? I would be fun to mess around with mining, since people seem to accept it as real money. Its all very strange and interesting.
  10. . Top two advantages are speed and security. If you have a 100mbit connect, you can download at you max. Second is no warning letters from you ISP. Really good software available to automate and mangage your data. http://www.sickbeard.com/usenet.html Sickbeard for TV shows. Couchpotato for movies, and Headphones for music. Sabnzbd handles all the downloading.

  16. Cyberpower ups seems to work ok with unraid 5.0-rc8a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OFXKFI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 I pulled the plug on the ups and the server shut down gracefully. Countdown showed 50 minutes remaining on battery power. I still have to connect my Qnap Nas so this seems like a good fit. I set the "kill ups" setting to yes. But I forgot to wait and see and connected the main. 17. I have a Corsair Builder Series 430 and I ordered a CyberPower CP1350AVR from Amazon. It due to arrive on the 7th. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OFXKFI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 I have installed the acpups plugin. I will post my results, when I get a chance to test it. You might find this post helpful. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21278.0 I installed the acpups plugin from here. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/UnRAID_Plugins
  18. Unraid is the OS and is the only software you need to create an excellent server. Lots of plugins. Most popular would be Sanznbd, Sickbeard and CouchPotato. You could probably take your time and get better deal on hard drives. I bought a 3TB from Amazon last week for 89.00. If have a old PC laying around you can try out the free version of Unraid and get a feel for how it works, before jumping in the deep end. Have a look at this thread for s few ideas. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=18872.0;topicseen
  19. This case looks like it has potential. about 200.00 US with 8 hot swap bays. http://www.overclock.net/t/1263662/awesome-itx-nas-case http://nbtaifa.en.alibaba.com/product/484820141-212566619/NAS_Server_Chassis_w_8_Hot_Swappable_SATA_SAS_Drive_Bays_Mini_ITX_.html
  20. Thanks for the tip. I made that change and the amount of cached memory went down substantially.
  21. I dont think you need to change the temp directory. Mine is set as follows. Library directory:/mnt/cache/apps/PMS Temp directory: /temp The temp directory need not be persistent. Everything else you stated appears to be correct. Benni Chan has make a plugin to update plex. See this thread. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14803.945
  22. I had a similar problem. when I first brought the server online. Rebooting the router seems to have cured it.
  23. To have all of your xbmc delints synchronized and sharing the same database. You have to create a mysql database and make some changes to the xbmc software. See this post. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11473.msg109149#msg109149 Plex Media server would be an easy way to accomplish the same goal. Unlike xbmc, you install Plex Media Server on your unraid server and run Plex Media Center on your clients. You have a wide range of clients. Mac, PC, Andoid, IOS . GoogleTV, LG Smart TVs/Samsung Roku and a new web client. You can also share your server with others via MyPlex. http://www.plexapp.com/
  24. Thanks for the clarification. I am still confused about how to properly map shares. I have a question. My SickBeard data dir is /mnt/cache/apps/sickbeard. The apps share was set to keep all files on the cache disk. SickBeard works fine. Should the path be as I have it now or /mnt/user/apps/sickbeard, and would it make any difference in operation? BTW, thanks for your excellent plugins.
