  1. So My nextcloud ask me to run occ db:convert-filecache-bigint' While the instance is offline, but how do I do that? If I just do this: docker exec nextcloud sudo -u abc php7 /config/www/nextcloud/occ db:convert-filecache-bigint What happens is this: y doesnt work Tried this and it doesnt work docker exec nextcloud sudo -u abc php7 /config/www/nextcloud/occ y Both comes with unknown command/command not found.
  2. Now I get mismatches because Nextcloud files_trashbin too. This plugin likes to give false positives when you have Nextcloud.
  3. Yeah, but cant things then become lost/weirded out?
  4. Appdata/dockers is the priority. Dockers like Nextcloud. (And jellyfin(Emby) (That dont get much usage currently but who knows in the future)) I currently dont have any VMs. I dont know what the most I would write in a day is but regularly I do not write much. I should have redundancy on SSDs for Appdata/dockers right? Speed is not the reason why I would NVMe so I dont care about Sata SSD speed being the limiting factor.
  5. I dont have a cache yet. But I see people recommend it. Some said that it can on paper reduce the HDD wear a little bit because Dockers arent running of the HDDs. I should get two ones because of parity right? 240GB ones are enough? Should I look for good SSDs or is any good enough? Is there any problems mixing a SATA SSD and a NVMe SSD as cache? I am just considering it because I then the cache would use up 1 less Sata port.

    Choosing a UPS

Does it matter if its True sine wave or not? (Be Quiet pure Power 11 300w PSU)

    Choosing a UPS

Smart UPS is too expensive, and 1500 VA is way overkill for my needs. I have red other places that pure sine way is not needed unless whatever you connect to it is old. Ebay isnt really a thing in my country. The site for used things here is dont have any Smart UPS listed. Also, that site listed is also an US site, so dont work for me. BTW, does it matter if its Offline UPS or Line Interactive really?

    Choosing a UPS

So I am trying to choose an UPS to get, My NAS draws max less than 100w and even with upgrades probably will draw max 150w. I have not experienced brownouts or surges as I know of. the current list of UPSes I have been looking at is: Eaton Powerware 5E 650VA/850VA APC Back-UPS BE650G2/BE850G2 APC Back-UPS BX700U/BX950U Eaton Ellipse ECO 650/ECO 800 Eaton Powerware 5S 700i The BX700U dont seem to have replacable battery? Some stuff I red on internet turned me off Cyberpower, like for example some say their one failing to detect batteries that are bad. But if I am not sure....

What do you use now? Also there is a surge protector in the fuse box in this home now.

Any opinions on these: Eaton Powerware 5E/5S/3S APC Back-UPS BX series CyberPower Value Pro (Have heard some bad experiences with CyberPower?) Eaton Ellipse ECO APC Back-UPS BE (Is it just a BX in another form factor or is the any other differences?)

There is so many different UPSes, I have no idea who to get at all.

Seems like some people have had issues with PowerWalker, so stay away from those? Also, does it have to have USB?

That spesific one is much much more than I need but now I know

    Lifetime of UPS.

After searching the web, the only two brands I haven't found people that had issues is APC with apcupsd or Eaton with NUT, does that seem correct?

    Lifetime of UPS.

If I decide getting one even with that lifespan, Is there some brands I should stay away from or all they all the same? I mean there is quite a few brands out there, some of those I have seen is: PowerWalker Eaton APC Cyberpower FPS Group And others too

I dont know how lead acid batteries degrade, but it doesnt just for example say less than 65% battery capacity it reports you to change them? Couldnt you then just somehow put it to 45% for example and ofc make sure 45% is enough for your server/nas and therefore have it live for longer time? I just remembered I still have had it plugged in to the cheap thing you put between it and the socket to measure power usage. Dont know how accurate it is but it says 37w idle now, and max it has been since I put it there (a few months maybe) is 66w. Tho I do not know if that is actually the most it can. PSU is 300w only because it was the smallest that also was considered good quality. Who knows if I will ever change the CPU with something more powerful or not tho, maybe I should pretend it draws 120-200w just in case? Movies and stuff is only on there but important files there is a copy on my desktop, but if it outgrow the size of the HDD iin my Desktop then I dont know. That also do not have an UPS, because why would I. Are SSDs more sensitive to power failures than what HDDs are? I dont have any SSDs in the NAS but I am considering getting some. Also havent had anything wrong as I know with my Desktop through the years as I know of either. Also, does it matter if an UPS is something called in line or offline standby? As far as I know, I have never had a brownout here, only blackouts but as I said much fewer that some people seem to have.

My NAS has experienced maybe 5 times or so that power have gone out the last two years, there have never been any sync errors.

So oversizing an UPS does not make it last longer, it's about max 5 years anyway? When do an UPS decide when it's time for the battery to be replaced? Btw, my NAS currently is idle around 40w ish, don't quite sure under load. Is it really worth getting an UPS for unRAID tho? I don't really run much else than Nextcloud and local storage on it where it's currently mostly me using it. Don't know the future tho.

    Lifetime of UPS.

People would be willing to pay twice the amount for batteries that have much longer lifespan, at least I would.

    Lifetime of UPS.

Why aren't more UPSes that exist with lithium batteries? They should last much longer from what I know about battery technology. Not sure if I want to get an UPS if it's only last 3-5 years.

But also, automobile batteries is used to turn on the car and spark plugs regulary while the UPS wouldn't, so it doesn't make sense to me. Are all UPSes really lead batteries?
  23. Mihle

    Lifetime of UPS.

Worth noting that the power goes out maybe 3 times a year here, sometimes less. Also zero brownouts.

    Lifetime of UPS.

Most people seem to say that they last 3-5 years before the batteries need to be changed, is that true no matter how many brownouts or blackouts happen or doesn't happen? Or can one a place where it doesn't happen much, can the batteries last longer if it doesn't? Also, would a UPS that is larger compared to what's actually needed make the batteries last longer? If I were to get one that the batteries is replacable, I should also check if I can actually buy batteries were I live.
