  1. I used S.N.A.P. under 4.7 you could use mount drive under unraid 5 beta.
  2. I'm running a n40l with 4gb ram. I was under the impression that 4gb was unraids limit? Anyway I have 2x1tb drives for now and the 250gb + an old 120gb drive as a apps drive. 80w at boot, 40-50w with drives spun up and 40w with just the array spun down. Idle with all drives down its 35w. I've go sick beard, sabnzb, ps3ms and I've also installed air video as a trial too. CPU was at 150% according to the unmenu processes tab but the server was responsive and the iPad played a movie perfectly. I fumbled my way about but my tip is start with 4.7 install unmenu and install sickbeard, Sab, cp with that. The Conf file can be downloaded from the forum. I used snap to mount and share the apps drive and ran sb, Sab, ps3ms off that to save the flash. It can all be done but takes patience and learning a little Linux. Fun though. Precleared your drives before you start! Check the wiki for info. I used screen and did 4 drives at once!
  3. Thanks AdamT, it's working perfectly on 4.7 for me. I loaded the updated .cfg file and it's displaying all that info perfectly! Nice job! If you can modify your inital post, you might want to update the information so that new users know about the difference between 4.7 & 5b14 index.html pages!
  4. plowna, just put the .conf in the unmenu folder, and install from packages in unmenu. If your missing perl it will let you know to install it. AdamT, I ran "which emhttp" on my tower, and it says emhttp is in /usr/local/sbin/emhttp so I've modified the .conf file with the additional /sbin folder. I'll have to reboot and reinstall it I guess but it's the only reference to emhttp I can see in the .conf file.
  5. This looks good AdamT. I was looking for something that give an overall picture of what's going on with my server, especially CPU load.. I'm running a HP N40L microserver and it would be good to evaluate how it's coping with running PS3MS during encoding tasks. I'm running 4.7 at the moment, and installed Perl, and it appeared to install fine, but can't access tower/mrtg/index.html I did get an error, that's all that appeared out of place. ln: creating symbolic link `/usr/local/emhttp/mrtg': No such file or directory I didn't edit the Configuration Variables, and haven't performed a reboot.
  6. What version of unfair are you using? Snap will not work with 5b14 yet. There is an update in the pipeline. I've got it working perfectly under 4.7 Just install snap, add the drive, mount the drive and share the drive. When you add the drive make sure you put the serial no the a name for your drive apps or music
  7. Did you recently add this drive? I know that when I set my shares I spread them across 2 disks by setting disk1,disk2 under my media, photos, music share. I would have to change that when I add another drive. That's something to check at least.
  8. I'm getting around 50Mbps from memory from win7 to a seagate external usb3 hdd. It sounds like you might be getting somewhere. Maybe someone can help regarding getting it running on 4.7? If your transferring large amounts of data you will notice the speed diff with USB3.
  9. Stuck with what? Have you tried plugging a harddrive into it? I use snap to mount drives. Are you using that? It might only function as usb2 without additional drivers. I had to use them on my windows PC to get it working. The seagate drive needed a driver from memory.
  10. I did see that, but I was trying to set it up on b14 long before that post and I assumed that 5b14 wouldn't be that far removed from other betas! Seems it was never going to work, but I'm new to all this and it's a steep learning curve and lots and lots of reading. Great job queeg, and can't wait for a the webui version, that will be great. I am enjoying learning doing things manually though, it's a good experience!
  11. Thank you. I have my Epson R350 running on unraid now! This NAS just gets better each day! I'm using unraid 4.7 and I set usblp0 in the config, and rebooted. In windows7 I installed a new printer, as per the instructions, and it is working well.
  12. Has SNAP been tested on 5b14? I'm not sure if it was the sb/sab plugins or snap that wasn't working, but I just couldn't get it to work for me. I started again with unraid 4.7, installed snap, mounted a drive just like I did before /mnt/disk/apps and it mounted and shared perfectly. I then installed sab/sb in unmenu, and it's all working great, no issues on set up (the script worked first time!), and even after a reboot it's all working great. Perfect. Phew! Now the hard part.. getting PS3MS running without the plugin!
  13. Hi, I'm new to unraid, and started off with unraid 5b14 basic, mainly because of the plugins feature. It's been nice and stable, and I liked the plugins for SAB, SB, PS3MS. I was a bit concerned about running these off my flashdrive or the array, so I put in an old 120Gb drive in NTFS format, and on every reboot all the plugins reinstall and the settings disappear. I thought it was the plugins, but I just realised on the last reboot that a folder I created in telnet for SAB to pickup NZB files also disappeared, so it appears that upon reboot the drive is being cleared some how. Any suggestions on how to fix this? in telnet, I added the drive, mounted the drive and shared the drive and it appears as /mnt/disk/Apps okay and I've also set it to init at boot time with -b. I precleared the drive, and have now formated it in reiserfs, which appeared to solve a problem with SABNZB not allowing me to run scripts, but it still clears on reboot. Any suggestions?
  14. Hi, You might think I'm mad suggesting this, but it could be one of your hard drives. I had a similar issues, intermittant beeps, different volumes, and they got worse as data was being copied to that drive. It sounded just like a post beep, and I disconnected fans, the speaker, and eventually isolated the harddrive. I could hear a beep, click click, and if I put my finger on the drive I could feel it click click after the beep. Here a link to my issue and solution. http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=991485 (I hope that's okay with the mods) I think I also posted up an audio file so that might help too. The drive passed every smart test, including Samsungs own diagnostic tool. I RMA'd it and received a new drive as a replacement.
  15. I got the same results gg. flowcontrol was already disabled for me, and I then ran that cmd command, and also followed chips link information to turn it off with the check box. I'm not sure if I had to do both, but did anyway. I got no improvement. I'm running 2 drives, no cache, and I haven't turned parity on yet, and I'm getting around 21MB/s at the moment copying over about 400Gb of video files. It is faster than my old Buffalo Linkstation which maxed out at 12MB/s which everything turned off so I'm not complaining. I'm not sure if adding a cache drive will make it faster though. Is 20MB/s write speed any good, I'm not sure. I might do a search to see what others are averaging.
  16. Gordongraham, Found instructions for setting flow control. On your computer, click the Start button , click Control Panel, type view network connections in the search box, and then click View network connections. Right-click your network connection, and then click Properties. On the Networking tab, click Configure. Click the Advanced tab, and in the list under Property, click Flow Control. Under Value, choose an option to enable/disable flow control. I'm going to give it a go too, so thanks for asking. I'm getting similar speeds, but only running the non cache version at the moment. If everything I want to do works I'll buy it and use the 250gb drive as cache. Also re my Netgear switch uses jumbo frames by default, maybe that was the problem if the HP doesn't support it and hence loads of errors. Might investigate that! Anyone know how to turn jumbo frames off on a network? The switch is a basic unmanaged switch.
  17. I've been digging around trying to answer this question and ran a ifconfig eth0 via telnet. UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:171185 errors:15643 dropped:17 overruns:0 frame:12206 TX packets:147881 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:242848805 (231.5 MiB) TX bytes:14043938 (13.3 MiB) Interrupt:18 RX is full of errors. I moved my PC & Server over to the Billion, and turned off the netgear switch, and my speeds where well up to just under 20MB/s areas (lots of small files) and slightly faster for big single 1.5Gb files. No errors. UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:697733 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:128204 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:1026139278 (978.6 MiB) TX bytes:9800715 (9.3 MiB) Interrupt:18 Problem solved?
  18. Hi, Total noobie with unraid, but i'm finding my way around and struggling to get a decent network speed to copy my data over to the server. Hardware is HP N40L Microsever, 2Gb ECC RAM with 2x1Tb Samsung HD103UJ Hardrives, and the 250Gb drive that came with the HP (Seagate using HP firmware I think). I've got 1x1Tb assigned to parity, but not turned on, just waiting for my data to copy over first before turning it on (I remember reading that with parity on it's can be slower). Only 1x1Tb and the 250Gb drive are active in the array. Copying from my Win7 PC to the N40L is very very slow about 200KB/s using explorer. A test video I tried to copy 135Mb was going to take 15mins!!!! My old buffalo was faster, and it crawled along at 12MB/s so I'm assuming something is wrong somewhere. Tried a new network Cable, copying from a difference harddrive on the PC, to a different harddrive on the server. I found the 250Gb ran slightly faster at 200KB/s. I've tried another Win7 laptop and same result. The PC & Server are on the same Netgear GS608 switch which is connected to my Billion 7800N. I installed unraid 5.0 Beta 14, and installed unmenu, that's it. My network runs on fixed IP. Can anyone suggest where to start looking? Just remember total noobie with unraid, I know how to access the web interface, and via telnet though. Thank you Edit: added syslog sysloglacehim.txt
