  1. So i went ahead and reinstalled unRaid, added the License key and super.dat to the new image. The UI is back to normal, but now i lost the ability to "edit" all of my docker components and a couple of them are failing to start. I went back and also added the files in /config/plugins/dockerMan/templates-user/ and i was able to edit the components again. I am installing the NVIDIA plugin right now... thank you for the help!
  2. Sorry. I have not had a chance to fix it yet. The system is still running fine, the GUI is just fugly Hoping to try to do what you all recommended this evening to see if that resolves my issue... it just took a while to get it all working, and I am afraid that something during the reinstall will nuke the VMs i have already created. I am running the NVIDIA branch of 6.8.3... was thinking of just reverting back to the stock 6.8.3 to see if that rebuilds whatever is stuck and then redo NVIDIA. Would that work too?
  3. will that keep all of my docker vms intact or will I have to rebuild them?
  4. I tried rebooting in safe mode but got the same error. any other suggestions?
  5. Will do... thank you for the advice
  6. UnRaid 6.8.3 with Nvidia GPU enabled Hey Everyone... I was trying to add some new disks that were not formatting correctly so i added the "unassigned Devices" plugin and "binhex-preclear" to my box... something got horked and now my UI looks like gunk and this message is showing: Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/plugins/dynamix/dynamix.cfg): failed to open stream: Success in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/include/Wrappers.php on line 22 Warning: array_replace_recursive(): Expected parameter 2 to be an array, bool given in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/include/Wrappers.php on line 22 Warning: extract() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/include/DeviceList.php on line 24 it got funky as soon as i added the binhex-preclear plugin so i stopped the plugin and removed it, but still no love. I uninstalled the dynamix plugin and rebooted, reinstalled the dynamix plugin, rebooted again, still getting the wierd messages. Everything else is working fine though, all of the docker containers seem to function fine. Is there an easy way to just update UnRAID to get the system back to its "normal" state? Thanks Drabert
  7. It looks like the AOC-USAS2-L8i should be perfect for me. How many drives can it handle? Thanks for the suggestion, if the flashing does not work this weekend i will probably order one on monday.
  8. Thanks guys... i didnt have it flag me for replies but thank you for responding. I found a way to flash the h700 that i am going to try this weekend. I had a spare card that only had one SAS connector and my system keeps dropping drives so i am going to try going back to the h700. Is there another card that has 2 mini SAS connectors that will work with > 3TB drives. I would hate to lock myself into 2TB drives. the 3ware and Areca cards are close to 400 bucks and thats a bit more than i want to spend if i do not have to. Drabert
  9. I took two of them out and intalled them in a spare desktop and tested them with the hitachi drive fitness test app and they tested as good. I am just going to replace all the drives with Dell drives and then see where i am. Drabert
  10. Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the power supplies. This is not a DIY case, its a r515 from dell with dual power supplies. I ran the memory check and had to stop it at 93% but i will run it again tonight. There were no errors to report but its taking a while to get through the check due to the amount of memory in this host. Maybe i should pull some dimms out since unRaid does not need 128G for any reason, im just too lazy to pull it out. The only thing i have changed out of this host are the drives and the RAID card, everything else is stock from Dell. I will replace drive 1 since that is the one that failed this morning and probably keep going through until there are no hitachi drives left. So far it does not seem to have affected the data. Ever file i try to access after the drive replacements have been OK but obviously i can not check every file. Can anyone recommend a RAID card with two SAS cable connections? that could be the other cause of my problems, since i only have one of the backplane cables in use at this time since the RAID card i am using only has one slot. I will try disabling the second connection tomorrow to see if that resolves anything. Thanks guys Drabert
  11. This is not a DIY box. Its an older dell system that i changed out the raid card so it would allow for a JBOD configuration for the drives. The memory test is running now and i will post up the results. Thanks for the help guys Drabert
  12. did not try a memory test, but i started running one this morning since the system started showing errors again when my wife tried to play something from one of the shares. I was able to stop the array and when i stopped it, it showed that all the drives were "Missing" and some how they were all only 500G drives instead of 2T. I will let the memory test run today to see if it finds any errors. If it doesnt, maybe i should find another raid card that i can test with to see if that is causing the issue. That and i might try swapping out the last few Hitachi drives since the syslog file was showing disk1 (Hitachi) was having the problem while the array was having the issue. attached new log file from this morning Drabert syslog-2013-01-26.zip
  13. at this point i am thinking that either it does not like the hitachi drives or it has something to do with the strip size when i changed the host out and subsequently the RAID card as well. If all data is gone, its not the end of the world. Its all media that i can put back on after the host is "normal" again. As of right now i swapped out another drive and it should be finished rebuilding in an hour or so, then after that i will also replace disk #5 and hope that my disk errors go away. The last parity check completed successfully, but like you are saying, if the data is bad, then i just have bad parity Will keep posted and hopefully will eventually find the source. Drabert
  14. as of right now the last drive just finished rebuilding. I stopped the array and did another reboot to see if anymore drives were going to magically come up as dead but everything came up ok. I also just ran the "mover" which was crashing my system. Everything seems OK now and i am not seeing any new errors on any of the disk so i am thinking of running a parity check over night. Should i give the system another night to see if it is stable before running another parity check? Thanks everyone for all your help with this. Drabert
  15. http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pedge/en/Dell_Poweredge_R515_2P_4122_750W_Energy_Star_Data_Sheet.pdf DELL FN1VT 750 Watt Switching Power Supply For PowerEdge R510 R515 Powersupply
  16. this is from DRAC power monitoring. Sorry but im not good with power stuff: Drabert
  17. Right now im just worried about data and not hardware (as long as it eventually stops)... I can swap out this drive with another spare and just RMA this one. As of right now, i have not had a disk come back as "bad" just new ones everytime. So I will swap this one out too and see which one fails next. It does seem though like it is the hitachi drives that are failing on me now, not the Dell POS ones.
  18. I'd agree with that. Something is very wrong with the hardware for drives to just keep dropping out like you're seeing. Sorry i missed that question from BLKMGK- They are plugged into a LSI SAS9211-4i card with one SAS cable to a dell 2U chassis that has a back plane so the drives are swapable. it looks like a dell r720xd. I have not had any thermal issues since this summer on the original box.
  19. will my data be safe if i just rebuild the array on another new drive? maybe these dell systems do not like hitachi drives for some reason?
  20. i have 2 Dell 750W redundant power supplies in the system. Both are showing a green light for them as well.
  21. Well after the disk rebuilt, i did a restart on the system and another disk is now showing as a red ball. This is the first one that has come up bad with data on it. Should i just keep replacing the drives that are coming up red or is there anything else i can do since this drive was fine? I tried another restart of the system but it is still coming up red. I will try powering the system down for a few minutes to see if that clears something up. These are all server grade Hitachi drives that keep failing. So far this is the fourth drive that has come up with a red ball after a reboot. As always, thank you for your help. Drabert
  22. The system locked up again so i forced it to do a reboot and now another drive has failed. I started to rebuild it with yet another drive, but im not sure when this is going to stop. The drive i am replacing has not been written to yet so i was not worried about letting it get rebuilt. After this drive is finished rebuilding should i shut down the raid and do a reboot before the system gets locked up? It shows the errors are from disk md4, but i am not sure which one that is on my array. Drabert
  23. Ok my rebuild finished but now im getting write errors between the drive that was showing that it needed to be formatted and my parity drive. I am also not able to access the share that has my media files on it. It is showing all the folders as empty. Is it safe to replace the drive that looks like it is failing with the hope that the parity drive will rebuild it? New syslog attached Thanks for the help guys. Drabert syslog-20130122-201523.zip
  24. Ok, preclear finished and i have replaced the bad drive with the precleared one and it is now rebuilding. Once this drive is finished rebuilding, what should my next course of action be? perform a parity check on the system? fail the drive that was showing unformated and have the system rebuild it with a fresh drive? Over the past two years using unRaid, this is the first time i have had any issues like this. I have been fighting through a bad chassis for the longest time, but now the WAF is very low since our entire library does not seem to want to stay available. I am not sure if it is the mover script trying to write to the bad drive that causes everything to get horked, but at this point, i would rather lose a TB of data (its all TV/Movies) than bad WAF added current screenshot Drabert
