  1. yeah i agree it would be so nice to have a way to unmount a drive or pool and change it out and then mount it again with out having to stop all the drives or wake them all up when only 1 drive might need to be replaced because of a failed drive so far the only work around that i can think of is to have multiple unraids running in vms so you have the main unraid then you passthrough multiple hba's one to each vm that runs unraid so that way you can run your pools and arrays in there own unique unraid vm it is more expensive to have to buy more licenses and hba's but it is a work around but yeah it would be supper nice to have it all in one maybe one day
  2. Hello, I have a great idea for a new Feature the ability to mount and unmount unraid arrays & cache pools separately from one another like there could be a little line next to the array and each cache pool where you can check a little check box that says mount/unmount then you can scroll down to the normal "stop" button and push it and it will unmount only that one array or cache pool this would be a neat feature for when we have multiple arrays because we could unmount just one of the pools or arrays and replace a failed disk with out having to unmount all of the rest of the drives incase there is a parity check or rebuild going on with some of the other disks in a different pool or array or if someone else is using one of the pools or arrays but you need to fix something with out interrupting others that might be watching videos or reading or writing to other shares on a different array or pool and you could still use dockers and vms as long as you didn't unmount the main cache drive so that would be really good for those who run unraid on there main computer and use a vm to passthrough windows or any other system as there main machine so i could be in a vm and open up the web gui and unmount an array or pool to change a failed drive or to do maintenance with out having to power down the vm to do so hope that makes sense instead of a check box on each pool or array you could also just do a little window bar that when clicked it opens a little drop down box that will say all the pools and arrays that you have with little check box next to them and you just check the ones you want to unmount or mount and click yes and it would only unmount or mount those arrays or pools kinda like how when you make a "new config" it will ask if you want to keep pools array disks in the right order hopefully this makes sense i hope others think this would be a neat feature to if you think so be sure to like and comment so maybe enough people will see it and we can get it in a future release Thank you all for your time... 😎JP
  3. I pick Multiple Unraid Array Pools for V6.14.0 Thank you!😎
  4. Yeah it would be a great feature to have a setting to set the maximum size of a share if you wanted to or just leave it blank if you don't it could be added right under the line that says "Minimum Free Space" it could say "Maximum Free space" and work the same way just in reverse of course Thanks 😎
  5. i just wanted to give a update' I went ahead and installed V6.12.2 today and tested it again and everything is working normal Thank you to everyone that worked hard on fixing the bugs i really do appreciate it' Have a wonderful week
  6. i also tested it on V6.12.0-rc5 and V6.12.0-rc3 as well as V6.12.0 And V6.12.1 still same problem i also discovered that even if you don't add a drive to the array where the missing drive is it will start but the drive will not emulate the content it wont even mount it says unsupported format so this is defiantly a bug. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon
  7. Hi sorry for the late reply i was trying to make a quick video of the problem to show what i mean hopefully it will help and here is the video and the diagnostics to sapphire-diagnostics-20230624-1613.zip
  8. Hello, the other day i decided to upgrade one of my disks in the array so i changed it out for the bigger one then i started the array and found out it does not mount the drive it shows the little orange triangle saying it is emulated but there is no squire box on the left to click to see the files also on the far right it also says that the drive is not able to be mounted or no file system and if i scroll down to where the "start" and "Stop" buttons are at the bottom of the page it will say i need to format the drive' how ever if i wait till the rebuild of the drive is done then i click to "stop the array" then i click again to "start the array" then the drive will mount and i can see the shares and all the files are there. so it's only when it is in emulated mode that i am unable to see or access my files on that drive' this was tested on V6.12.0 and V6.12.1 with same results the file system on the array is zfs-encryption i also tried it on xfs-encryption and it does the same thing so is this a bug? or is this a future they are removing i hope not i really like this future to be able to have access to my files when in a rebuilt JP
  9. yes it seems to be working fine even after new config' i had talked to a tech person at unraid and they tested it on many servers and only found one that it could be replicated on so they said they would pass it along internally so i figured in rc3 or rc4 it should be fixed and then i tested when rc3 came out and everything seems to be working fine now i'm just glad it's fixed
  10. I have been testing it today and so far everything seems to be working normally the array is spinning down and staying spun down and also unassigned devices is to so i believe it has been fixed
  11. I just wanted to give and update i upgraded to V6.12.0-rc3 and i am now able to encrypt my hard drives to zfs Encryption so this problem seems to now be solved for me Thanks to everyone who worked hard to get this fixed i really appreciate it
  12. If you want to do it all through the unraid server and a running vm of windows on it here is another way you could go about it to restore back to V6.11.5 from V6.12.0-rc2 if you do not have a previous version of unraid then just go to the web site https://unraid.net/download and download the unriad V6.11.5 then open the zip files you should see three folders you don't need those for this prosses but make sure you copy all the files that are named down below ........................................... bzfirmware bzfirmware.sha256 bzimage bzimage.sha256 bzmodeules bzmodules.sha256 bzroot bzroot.sha256 bzroot-gui bzroot-gui.sha256 changes.txt license.txt make_bootable.bat make_bootable_linux make_bootable_mac memtest ................................................ and then go to your unraid flash drive and open it and create a folder called "previous" and then copy all the files that i listed to the folder then reboot the server then when your back in the GUI click on the tab "tools" then click "update OS" you should now have a button that says "RESTORE" now click that and let it do its thing and then reboot when it asks you to and if all goes well you should now be on V6.11.5 hope this helps you or anyone else that needs it JP
  13. Yeah i understand' i'm looking forward to this being fixed as well Have a wonderful week!😎
  14. As far as i know there are no work arounds for this bug, but i have reported it to unraid tech and they where able to reproduce it in one of there servers so it was sent down the line to be fixed hopefully in V6.12.0-rc3 or rc4 we will have to wait and see.
  15. UPDATE: this is what i did to make it happen i upgraded from V6.11.5 to V6.12.0-rc2 and the array started up fine then i stopped the "array" and i went to "Tools" and clicked on "New Config" and set it to preserve "ALL" settings then clicked "Apply" and then i went back to the "Main" page and started the Array and after that i clicked to spin down the array drives and they spin down and then wake back up again when i watch closely i see that the disks get small reads 16.4kb for about one second then it does nothing till about 50 to 55 seconds then it does it again over and over every 50 to 55 seconds i have no i idea why resetting the "new config" would have broke and causing small reads to the disks seems odd to me but i have tried it many times i can re produce it i have also tried running it in "Safe mode" and also in "maintenance mode" and nothing seems to work to stop it from reading i have to down grade unraid back to V6.11.5 and then it stops so then i can upgrade again to V6.12.0-rc2 then it works again as long as i don't run the "New config" other wise it comes back again let me know if anyone tests it and finds the same bug Thank you all for looking at the post Have a wonderful day sapphire-diagnostics-20230322-0344.zip
  16. hi Bonienl, Your very welcome i'm glad i could help some by reporting the bug and thank you for testing it and letting me know what you found i really appreciate it if you don't mind looking at my other post i had made another bug report about having a issue with "array disks" and "unassigned device" disks that when i put them to spin down they would spin down then wake backup after 50 to 55 seconds and if i watch the activity something was causing it to read the disks 16.5kbs even when nothing was using the disks i think unraid is pinging the disks maybe smart read checks or something anyways thank you for all your help i appreciate it
  17. i also had the same type of issue when i tried to make a pool of just one disk i named it zzz pool then i had one disk and set it to zfs encryption and it would fail to format the disk' but if i made the same pool zzz and then said 2 disks but then only installed one disk on slot one then it would let me set the setting to "ZFS encryption" and then "stripe" and then "1 group" and then start the array up and it would let me format it then i can stop the array and remove the other slot 2 from the pool zzz that was empty and it will then work fine with just the one drive kinda weird but it worked. the only problem is i can't do that in the array disks because they fail to format but on the bright side i was able to make a raidz1 pool with 5 disks and they formatted just fine but then later i tried to make a new config to remove some of the array disks and set it to save the layout of cache pools and array disks and it did save it but then when i tried to start the array it blew out the raidz1 5 disk it wanted me to reformat and i could not get it to re input the raidz1 pool so i went back to V6.11.5 until zfs and the bugs get worked out Thanks for your time have a wonderful week
  18. not the cache pools but the array has 4 disks i was trying to format the last to disks 3 and 4 from xfs encryption to ZFS encryption but it would not let me when i try to format it it fails are you saying that all 4 disks in the array have to be wiped and then format them to zfs encryption all at once no mixing some xfs and others zfs? Thanks for your reply
  19. unraid won't let me reformat my array disks to zfs encryption V6.12.0-rc2 this is what i tried to do 1 stopped the array 2 went to disk 4 in the array and changed format to use "ZFS encryption" clicked Apply 3 started the array 4 went back to disk 4 says unmountable: unsupported or no file system 5 went down to the bottom of the page and clicked the little check box that says format the drive 6 then clicked the "format button" 7 went back up to the top of the page 8 says drive is formatting then it stops and says drive is "unmountable: unsupported or no file system" 9 tried reformatting multilabel times still same thing but if i go back to xfs encryption or btrfs encryption it will work fine. i even tried to wipe out the partition first by using unassigned device plugin to erase the old format' it still fails to format the disk in zfs Encryption Just wanted to make you aware of the bug Thank you for your time have a nice week. sapphire-diagnostics-20230318-0255.zip
