  1. Last week I updated the firmware on my M1015 to the latest version from LSI, P20. All the drives attached to this card started giving lots of errors when I started a parity check. Smartctl showed they all had UDMA_CRC_Error_Count errors. I had to completely clear the card and then reflash to P19 as trying to go from P20 to P19 failed, now a parity check is showing up error free. Does anybody know how to clear the UDMA_CRC_Error_Count value on the drive. Kevin
  2. NAS When I try your script I get the following error. root@Tower:/mnt/user/Movies HD# /boot/shellscript/undist.sh Folder: /Movies HD /boot/shellscript/undist.sh: line 17: syntax error near unexpected token `(' /boot/shellscript/undist.sh: line 17: ` fld=($(du -sh "${VALUES[$i]}$FOLDER"));' I'm using the this copy of your script. #!/usr/bin/bash #Get a list of drives in use VALUES=($(mount | awk '/disk[0-9]/ {print $3}')) #Get the interesting bit of the folder this tool was called from FOLDER=`pwd | sed 's/\/mnt\/user\(\/.*\)/\1/'` echo "Folder: ${FOLDER}"; #Loop through the values of the drive that are installed for ((i=0; i<${#VALUES[@]}; i++)) do if [ -d "${VALUES[$i]}$FOLDER" ] then #Get the size on disk of the folder but on one of the disks fld=($(du -sh "${VALUES[$i]}$FOLDER")); #Get the space free on this same disk dsk=($(df -h "${VALUES[$i]}" | sed -n '2p'|awk '{print $4}')); echo "Disk:${VALUES[$i]} Using:${fld} Free:${dsk}"; fi done Solved. indents had weird character in them. Kevin.
  3. If I have a share that is configured to use 1 disk by setting Included disk(s): DiscX does this prevent other shares using space on that disc as the need arises, I.E. a share is set to most-free and DiscX fills the requirement. Kevin
  4. I've tried to create a cache pool using various instruction on the forum but nothing seems to work. The webgui will not let have more than 1 slot. I've tried uninstalling my original cache drive and rebooting but that didn't work either. Are there any clear instructions to create a pool using 6b10a. Kevin.
  5. Thanks RobJ Turning off Vt-d obviously worked but as it's been many years since I compiled a kernel and I'd rather use the stock unRAID kernel I'm going to leave the cage out until Tom patches the kernel as I'd rather have my kvm working. Cache pool will have to wait. Kevin.
  6. I tried to install a new PCIe sata cage today. The bios finds the card and it list the 2 ssd's correctly but when I boot unRAID I get a list of errors about Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata8.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata7.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata14.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata8.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata7.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata14.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata8.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata7.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) Sep 30 15:55:07 Tower kernel: ata14.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) The card is a Syba SD-PEX40044. 7. Just add in the price of 4 mSata cards. Kevin.
  8. I like the last suggestion. Cache pool without using up ports. Cheaper as well. Thank you.
  9. I realise that dual parity is in the future but my case (which I doubt will change. It's silent.) will only hold 11 drives max. Currently have 10 drives plus the cache ssd. My x16 port already has an M1015 in it and using 3 onboard Sata 3 ports as well. Still left with 3 x8 slots so using one of those won't be a problem. I was really trying to find out if anyone has actually tried one with Unraid. The price needs to come down a bit as well. Kevin.
  10. Has anybody tried one of these as a cache drive. http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820249043&cm_re=plextor-_-20-249-043-_-Product Does Unraid see it as a drive? With the coming of dual parity (I hope) I need to release a drive slot for another WD Red 4TB drive and thought I might get one. Kevin.
  11. Has cpu freq scaling been removed in this release. I can't find anything that relates to it. Kevin.
  12. I was able to do this without a problem after I had converted my cache drive to btrfs, so there has to be another factor at play. Quite possible. The only plugin was for apc. The logfile code was the same for btrfs and rsf but when I put b5a back with no other changes it worked. I think I'll stay on 5a and keep a watch on this thread to see if anybody else has the problem. Kevin
  13. Reposting this as I think it got lost in all the VM chatter last night. I've successfully changed the cache drive to btrfs. I can now not create a cache only share. The page just refreshes. Portion of the logfile just after trying. The cache drive has 117GB free. Other setting used Min. free space 4194304, Fill-up, Use cache disk Only Kevin Edit Changed back to RFS. Still can't create cache only share. Edit Dropped back to 6.0b5a and cache share creation is working again. Kevin.
  14. It's always the simple answers you forget. I should have zipped the directory up first. Doh. Done now so will zip before I move it back. Kevin.
  15. I don't know if this is related to beta6 or is just a general problem. I've disabled Plex which was the only plugin using the cache drive and set to NO the shares that were using it. I'm moving the App directory which only contains Plex data off my cache drive to a share to change the format to btrfs using mc. It started off at about 10MB/s and in the last 2 hours has dropped to 1.15 MB/s and still has 10% left to do.. The App directory is 10GB in size. If it maintains it's current rate it will have taken 21/2 hrs to move 10GB from an SSD to the share. I would have thought it should run quicker than that. Kevin
  16. I run mine in an R3 case with all slots full. 2x4TB Red and 6x3TB green. 2 front fans and 1 rear. During a parity check they usually run at about 36 to 38 degrees. Kevin.
  17. dmacias Mine is a 500 Watt unit. I changed the script as per your message and rebooted. OK now. If NOMPOWER isn't available then displaying the result from LOADPCT would probably be easier than relying on the user to get the setting right. Kevin.
  18. Thank you. That got it running. On the display I'm showing Load: N/A Watts I had a look at the script which is looking for NOMPOWER which my APC 750 doesn't output. I thought it should be showing the value from LOADPCT which is available. Otherwise OK. Kevin
  19. Currently I have installed apcupsd-3.14.10-x86_64-1_rlw.txz Installs with no errors but on the settings page if I try to enable it just drops back to NO. apctest is talking to the ups ok. IS this the correct version for 6.0b5a or is there another one hiding in the messages. Kevin. Edit I can start it from the command line and the plug in page shows current settings.
  20. Thank you Sacretagent. Don't know why I couldn't find it. Kevin.
  21. Does anyone have a copy of libutempter for this version so I can install screen. Kevin.
  22. I have an Intel DP55KG. The pcie slot is 2.0 I tried the card in the x4 slot but that upset the M1015 in the x8 slot as it came up saying all my disks were missing. I should have thought of the network limitation, Gigabit is not as fast as the ssd. Kevin.
  23. I was using diskspeed.sh to test the speed. First run on the motherboard i was getting 175MB/s avg. on the Startech card I was getting 160MB/s avg. Changed the cable Second run on the motherboard, 218MB/s avg. on the Startech card, 171MB/s avg. An improvement, but not what I hoped for on the Startech as this is supposed to be a 6Gb/s Sata III card. I'll leave it on the the motherboard for now and see what how things go. Kevin.
  24. I've installed the SSD and allocated it to the cache slot. As my motherboard only has Sata II onboard I'm using a Startech PEXSAT32 card but it seems to be much slower than I anticapted. Does anybody have a recommendation on pcie 2.0 add on cards for Sata III. Kevin.
