[Support] SpaceinvaderOne - Macinabox
Anyone else getting where the docker just sticks at "Selected macOS Product" when you check the logs? I did have a working VM but screwed something up so decided to start fresh and now no matter what version of macOS I choose or which download method, it never moves past this line even when leaving it running overnight and removing all traces of Macinabox beforehand.

Black screen on Ubuntu 20.04 VM with GPU passthrough
In my case (AMD GPU) it must have been a byproduct of the Navi reset bug, as using gnif's vendor reset patch I can now boot any VM with GPU passthrough without issue. I'm confused as to why those of you with Nvidia GPU's are still experiencing issues.

So the 5700XT problem is only on 5.9+? If so, can vendor-reset be implemented on an older kernel version? I only need that fix and not anything else at the moment over the base kernel in Unraid 6.8.3.

[KERNEL]unraid kernel update 5.10rc4 - zenpower|it87|corefeq|amdgpu|jmb575|dvb|r8125|openrgb|reset AMD GPU|zfs|dax|exfat|ntfs3|nvidia driver
Hi, first of all thank you for this kernel. I was excited to use it because of the new AMD reset included. However, I seem to be having issues with it. I've included the line in /config/go however when booting into my previously working Windows 10 VM it kept rebooting. I've now done a fresh install of the VM and all is well until I try to install the Radeon drivers upon which the VM reboots and now it is back in a boot loop. I am using this on 6.8.3 with an AMD 5700xt and nothing else included regarding any AMD reset fixes. Any ideas? Edit: Looks like this is a known issue with non reference 5700xt's according to this GitHub issue:- https://github.com/gnif/vendor-reset/issues/3

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
Hmm, you could try passing the vbios through as I've had issues before without doing that. I'm not sure past that as I've not had the best of luck myself with VM's.

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
What exactly happens when you try to pass through the GPU? Try setting the machine type to Q35 if you haven't already as AMD drivers don't like i440fx. This patch isn't specific to AMD CPU's, it just has patches which help with CPU's that are based on Zen2.

Not likely, the line is usually "Buy an Nvidia card" when it's bought up.

Black screen on Ubuntu 20.04 VM with GPU passthrough
Bumping this as I'm still having the same issue, no Linux distro seems to reliably work with GPU passthrough without rebooting the server in between shutting down the VM. Whereas any Windows VM works fine. @Tonitram Are you still having the issue as well?

Black screen on Ubuntu 20.04 VM with GPU passthrough
Managed to install Ubuntu 20.04 by choosing safe graphics mode on first install (with GPU already passed through). It has now rebooted into normal mode and is running at 4k 60 without an issue at the moment. Edit:- And it's gone again after a reboot, it must be related to the graphics mode. Maybe need to edit grub before rebooting again. Edit 2:- Now I can't boot my Windows 10 VM without rebooting my server. Maybe this is related to using a Navi based GPU although I'm running the modded kernel to help with the reset issue. What GPU are you using?

I haven't tried any other but I'll give it a go. What else have you tried?

Same here for me, haven't had a Ubuntu VM set up for a while now but whatever I try with 20.04 I get no video output when using GPU passthrough.

[KERNEL] 6.8.0-RC5 w/ navi reset v2, vega reset, k10temp Ryzen patches, x570 onboard audio fix
I'm guessing that depends on what patches you need. I'm using this kernel on 6.8.0 for the Navi reset bug as I don't yet need x570 support.

That worked surprisingly. Though trying the multifunction trick to get HDMI audio to work seems to bork the VM template causing me to have to restore it. I'll keep playing with it. Edit: HDMI Audio working fine now. Only issue I have is signing into iCloud which throws up an error about my account not being an iCloud account and the fact that the Navi reset bug still isn't working properly with Linux and OSX.

I'll see if I can come up with anything. I'll need to read up on what to do to move from Clover to OpenCore. I must admit I'm not that experienced in anything to do with OSX.

Thanks for the response, here's my XML which works fine with VNC graphics. I make sure to copy/paste both the loader/nvram section and also the qemu section back in after changing to form view to add both the GPU and GPU sound. What exactly should I be changing as the vm template and features section you've mentioned above both seem unrelated to the GPU not working? <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <domain type='kvm' [Support] SpaceinvaderOne - Macinabox
Anyone have any luck booting with a 5700xt? I get to about halfway on the Apple logo screen with 10.15.2 and that's it. Also has anyone been able to log into iCloud? Created a new account for the VM but can't login as it says "Account limit reached." and the hackintosh method of changing the serial number brings back the graphics glitch over VNC.

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
I think I had unrelated hardware issues. I've done a reseat of ram, gpu, etc. and it seems a lot more stable now.

Doesn't seem to fix this weird issue I'm having. I think I'm going to just convert my old machine back into an Unraid server, current machine back to a Windows PC and forget using VM's. Thanks again for the kernel though.

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
Thanks for this, seems to be working fine for me. I'm curious if this fixes the issue I've been having with VM's locking up my whole server while passing through a Navi card (will need further testing). I haven't had a way to test the newer Navi patch as I'm not versed in compiling kernels!

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
Went ahead and reverted to rc5 with this kernel and everything is working great. I initially had issues with restarting and shutting down VM's, much more than what I was aware of with the Navi reset bug. This fixed everything for me, so thanks!

Windows 10 VM Issues with Navi
Hi all, Fitted a 5700XT in place of a 980ti on Friday and all was fine using my existing VM on 6.8.0rc6 but I decided to reinstall the VM due to the new GPU and a few other things I wanted to sort out. As part of this I also upgraded to rc7 but I've just tried rolling back to rc6 and it still appears to be the same. I'm now having issues where I can't restart the VM from Windows or else it shuts down and then just stays on a black screen and then I have to restart the server due to the Navi reset bug. I can't shut down the VM from Windows as then I get the Navi reset bug and as a result of this any Windows updates seem to get stuck in a loop at 100% upon starting the VM again. The card is secondary as such due to the iGPU on my 6700k which I use GUI mode with. I've tried both with and without a vbios (both my own rip and from TechPowerUp and using a vbios seems to make my TV/receiver freak out and either display nothing or else take numerous minutes before displaying anything and still suffers the same fate. I've also tried a few older Q35 versions and nothing seems to help (using Q35 or else AMD drivers won't install). I don't know how tied to the Navi reset bug all this is but it seems strange it was fine on a previously working VM (barring the main issues reported with these cards and VM's). Any ideas would be appreciated, I didn't think I'd have this many issues with this card. tower-diagnostics-20191124-1947.zip

[KERNEL]custom kernel build with treaks (2020.03.07 v6.8.3|5.5.8|4.19.108|NAVI|VEGA|NFSv4|R8125|Zen2)
Scored a really good deal on a 5700XT and had already updated to 6.8.0rc6. I need to downgrade to rc5 before using this kernel right?
