  1. A question about the UniFi Controller docker if I may. I've just purchased a USG and Pro access point. Totally new to Unify stuff so took it slowly. Installed Docker. Ran through set-up of Controller software. Followed UniFi instructions to SSH on to the USG and change the IP address to be on the same subnet as my Unraid server. Adopted the USG. Disconnected old router. Adopted access point. All great and working brilliantly. Then I was an idiot. Saw in Unraid there was a docker upgrade. Hit Upgrade. Upon returning to the controller software it appeared to be a fresh install? Wanted me to run set-up again or restore from backup. Backup? I am an idiot - no backup yet. Ok, can "transfer" to new controller using admin login/password. Idiot 2™. Safari auto-fill has screwed up my admin password so it wasn't accepted. Ok. Factory reset of both USG and Access Point. Re-install of docker. Would it adopt? Course not. After two hours SSHing in to USG, changing IP and trying to adopt I eventually restored my old router and followed the instruction AGAIN right from the beginning. Adoption fine. Hurrah. Absolutely no idea why my old router was needed, assume routing wasn't correct without it. Made a backup. Quite a few actually. So my question (see, there is one eventually) is What is the recommended update process for the UniFi controller docker? Is it backup -> update -> restore or should the controller remember its settings? I'd just like not to go through this again! Ps. Thanks for the docker. It's excellent. It's just this user who was an idiot.
  2. This looks excellent - Thank You. I am currently using Borg Backup, but this has a very nice looking UI.
  3. Just to confirm, I too have Margarita running on my Mac. Disabling it stopped the logs
  4. I also tried disabling/enabling notifications. Didn't help. 5. Thanks. I've checked both these thread and previously had checked all plugins were up to date, after reading about those with similar issues. I've attached diagnostics in case any kind soul is able to figure out where they're coming from. tower-diagnostics-20170215-1914.zip
  6. Since upgrading to 6.3.1 I am also seeing this error every minute: > root: error: webGui/include/Notify.php: missing csrf_token I'm not getting any other csrf_token errors. I did have the /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.plg file present, which I've since deleted and re-booted server. The issue still persists. I've checked all my Dockers and Plugins are up to date. Any suggestions? I can (of course) post diagnostics here once I'm at home in front of the server.
  7. Thanks again for you detailed replies. It really has helped enormously in deciding what to do, and how to do it! By the way, I notice the IcyCube has been replaced with a new version (MB561U3S-4S R1 as opposed to MB561U3S-4S). The only difference I can see is that the new one has an external power brick, while the original is internal. I prefer the original! Unfortunately it seems in short supply. Only places are amazon and CPC. Amazon has both version in stock. Same price. Also, meant to say - I upgraded my Microserver with an Intel i3 3240T (2.90GHz) which I found cheap. You're right Xeon's were really pricey and while this only gives a small performance bump it is noticeable and was an easy swap.
  8. Sorry John_M a question - the eSATA card you have is out of stock. Is there something special about the Marvell 88SE9235 chipset or would https://www.amazon.co.uk/Syba-Internal-External-Profile-Brackets/dp/B00AZ9T4F8 do the job? I was originally thinking of this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Graphics-Cards/StarTech-Port-SATA-Gbps-Express-eSATA-Controller/B003GSGMPU (or their version with additional internal ports) as I'd read somewhere it worked well in the Microserver. Chipset isn't mentioned though.
  9. Yes, this is clearly the simplest and most cost effective solution. Can't help but feel I'm wasting not using those old drives though. This got be thinking I'd add a new server, which got me thinking I'd add external storage, which got me in to this in the first place! Hmmm.
  10. Thanks. I did come across your threads, but it seems I need to read them again. The ICYCube is very expensive in the UK (twice the price of the Microserver!) so I initially discounted it. However, by the time I've got a new microserver+unraid licence+Usb stick+parity drive+RAM+uprated processor it probably isn't such an expense! Really appreciate you taking to time to respond
  11. I've done a lot of searching both here and elsewhere, but seem to be getting confused as to what will work, and if the whole idea is a good one or not. My HP Microserver is full (4 x HDD and 1 x SSD for cache). I'd like to add a 4 bay (or even 2 bay) external drive box. It appears that in the past SATA (plus using a port multiplier aware port) was the way to go, but I understand UnRAID 6.2 supports USB3. There are a load of cheap boxes available here in the UK, such as the IcyBox that appear to do the job. Some examples are: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Icybox-IB-3664SU3-External-Enclosure-3-5-Inch/dp/B013J7ZRMQ/ref=sr_1_1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hornettek-Enterprise-Quad-Hard-Drive/dp/B00CYFM520/ref=pd_sbs_147_1 Can anyone clarify if they work, and if there is a particular recommendation? As the Microserver is a budget box, I'm not looking to spend thousands to extend it. I would be really (really!) grateful for some help

  13. I've tried adding two new users and giving them appropriate access rights. Unfortunately it hasn't helped. Neither of these work from the browser, VLC or TVHClient on the iPad. Nor does the Play or download link from the UI. http://user:[email protected]:9981/play/dvrfile/285e44ecf0ea44432f7e996cce82fd91 http://user:[email protected]:9981/dvrfile/285e44ecf0ea44432f7e996cce82fd91 I've spent hours and hours on this and am beginning to give up to be honest.
  14. My apologies, I was writing from memory. You're correct, path is: http://192.168.0.50:9981/play/dvrfile/608a2e04cd8e247011db29e9f90044ef (with or without a title parameter). Any firewalls/anti-virus software that might interfere? No, afraid not. Playing locally. Mac (so no antivirus). Playback fails on Mac, iPad and AppleTV. Live TV works fine from all three. Playback works fine if I network browse to the .ts file directly on all of the devices. BTW, just tried http://192.168.0.50:9981/playlist/channels from VLC and that works fine. It works correctly here. When I click the play button it downloads a m3u file with the link. If I open that one in VLC it starts playing. If I copy the link address on the play button it also works, but then asks for a username/password. Does your users have the right permissions? Did you add a new user and delete the default one? Didn't see your edit about it working in VLC. So then it's a matter of using the correct address/way to play the recordings. Glad to hear it works. At least it means I must be doing something wrong. It's strange that I can play live tv fine via the web interface and vlc, but just not any recordings. If I click on the play icon within the interface, or use the URL within vlc (on any device) I get nothing except not found. I'm using the default user, which I believe has correct permissions. This gives me something new to try though - good idea. Regards.

  17. Has anyone playback (of recorded material) issues? I'm clutching at straws here, as it's probably a configuration issue, but I've spent hours on this so far, googled, checked documentation, experimented and still cannot find a resolution. Thought I'd ask here in case it is docker specific. DVR source is a HDHomeRun (connect). Recording profile set to passthrough so records in .ts format. LIVE TV playback works fine from the web UI, VLC, iPad, AppleTV etc. With recordings, if I browse directly (via the network) I can playback fine in VLC/Plex or other software fine. In the Web UI or via VLC (stream from Network) or other software that requires the Web UI link, playback fails. The link appears to be: http://serverip:9981/dvrfile/filenamehash This address is not resolved. As I say, live TV is working great, just not playback of recorded material. Any pointers most gratefully received!
  18. I've updated to the latest version, which according to your docker page includes picons (in a picons folder) but I cannot find them. Am I being an idiot? * I've now installed them manually and all is working fine. Just wondering if they should have been included or not?
  19. I'm currently using an Time Machine with an AFP share. It works OK except that my Mac looses the mount every so often. SMB became the preferred way for mounting volumes in 10.11 but AFP was still required (or preferred?) for Time Machine. UnRaid has a special share option for this - "TimeMachine This setting enables various special options for TimeMachine; in particular a "volume size limit"." In Sierra apparently Time Machine can now use SMB. Is anyone using this? Do I simply switch off the AFP share and enable the SMB one. There is no special Time Machine option within unRaid for SMB. Many thanks.
  20. ah, I didn't know 10.12 supported time machine over smb. Excellent.
  21. The new auto mount feature is excellent. For ages I've been suffering from mounts disappearing from the Finder Sidebar. If I connect directly via Go->Connect To Server it works fine. If I restart the service on UnRaid it reappears in the finder sidebar. Hopefully your auto mount will solve this. Can are ask if you would consider allowing protocol to be specified on a mount by mount basis? I use Unraid for my Time Machine backup, which has to be over AFP. Everything else is via SMB. The AFP mount also drops, meaning Time Machine fails. Being able to choose the protocol (or a special setting for keeping the time machine mount alive) would be great.
  22. https://wiki.zoneminder.com/How_to_get_ssmtp_working_with_Zoneminder It seems you have to install a couple of packages for mail and configure them first. And then zoneminder will be able to send e-mails. If you're capable of doing those in command line, go ahead and try, and if it works, I'll update the container with those packages and a persistent e-mail config file. If not, I can take a loot when I get a chance (no promises) Great, thanks. I hadn't found that article. It doesn't look too difficult, so I'll give it a go and report back.
  23. Anyone able to help with the ZoneMinder docker configuration? I have it installed and running fine, by following the instructions at the beginning of this thread. I also have my events folder on my cache drive, and moved to my array nightly. My problem is with getting email alerts to work. My ISP SMTP server requires authentication. I don't seem able to add these details. Lots and lots of googling later I'm still at a loss. I'm not sure if the Docker has access to sendmail (or similar) or what I need do to configure it. Certainly the ZoneMinder GUI config is limited in what you can set, with relation to email. I've had a snoop around in the Docker, but still none the wiser. Any pointers appreciated
  24. Sorry been away a bit. Thank you from me too for getting it working with Safari. Really appreciate it.
  25. I was hoping some of the changes I made would help. In the lastest update I moved the click from the table row to the cell. See if that fixes it. If not I might need some help until I get my hands on something with safari 9.1 on it. It's different. I now get the rows, just cannot see the content. (see screenshot). If I inspect the HTML the data is there, just not visible. I appreciate what you're doing. If anyone else is using Safari, if might be useful to get some more reports, to see if it is an issue with El Captain Beta/Safari 9.1. (ps. God my internet is depressingly slow. I'm told we now have Fibre available, but speed estimates are for such a big range from SLOWER to 1x5 quicker, with a 12 month tie-in even if slower, it probably isn't worth the risk )
