  1. I've still got the R720. The MD1200 is sold. Brandon
  2. Hi everyone, I am selling my used PowerEdge R720 and PowerVault MD1200. I've consolidated to one R720XD. Both are in good condition cosmetically, perfect operating condition. The R720 is LFF with 8 3.5" slots (it shipped from the factory with 4 and was converted to 8). It also has an H310 flashed to IT Mode, 32GB of RAM, one E5-2690, iDRAC Enterprise, 4x1Gb NIC. No rails, bezel, or drive caddies are included. It's a fantastic Unraid machine. The MD1200 includes the SAS cards and power supplies (2 of each). It does not include rails, bezel, or drive caddies. I would sell both for $450 plus shipping. I have access to very good FedEx rates... should be $30 to $50 each to ship max, depending on where you are. I'm shipping a different R720 out today and it was $26 to ship from TN to Maryland. Local pickup is also welcomed and free, of course. I am located just outside of Knoxville, TN. Payment would be via PayPal. I will not do Friends and Family to protect both of us. Cash can be accepted for in-person pickups. Please let me know if you have any questions. My eBay username is NeveSSL1 for references. Thanks, Brandon
  3. Officially and completely resolved. I used this post specifically: To guide me through installing the utility and formatting the drives, for anyone who comes along and finds this later. Also, I did 4 drives at once. The first three I started in the web based terminal. These keep going even if closed. The 4th one I did on the server console itself so I could see the progress. It's pretty easy to see if the drives are being formatted or not if you have disk activity lights, but I also could go by the 4th one which stayed open and I could see the progress. Took a while! Now I've replaced my parity disk and it's rebuilding. Gotta upgrade every HDD I have, plus add an extra one. Brandon
  4. Any idea when your crystal ball may be fixed? Ok, ok... diagnostics attached. Brandon unraid-diagnostics-20200710-2150.zip
  5. Hi everyone, I have bought some new to me enterprise drives to upgrade my array. They are not showing up as Unassigned Devices, but they do show up in System Devices. I'm thinking I probably need to format them or something similar. Any ideas on what I need to do to get them to show up as usable to Unraid? Brandon
  6. Ok, awesome. Was planning on flashing it. Thanks! Brandon
  7. Hi everyone, I had purchased a dedicated server (R720 with 8 x 3.5") for Unraid and another server (R720 with 16 x 2.5") for ESXi. Since the new version of Unraid supports RAID through BTRFS, I'm thinking of adding an MD1220 to my 3.5" R720 and selling the 2.5" R720. I have an H200 that I'd like to use for it. Will all 24 drives of the MD1220 be passed through the H200, or will it be limited to 16 drives? Brandon
  8. Ultimately, I had a double failure screw me up. I believe the old flash drive was giving up. Even after completely rebuilding it, it would mount the boot folder sometimes, wouldn't others. Kinda weird. On top of that, the first time I used the unraid creator on the new flash drive, it didn't work right. So I thought I was fighting my server. Turns out both flash drives were screwed. lol The new flash drive is now working as expected and fortunately my Unraid 6 config transferred over to the new server perfectly fine. I'm now running a parity check. Brandon
  9. Tried another computer... neither flash drive would boot to those, either. Re-ran the Unraid creator and copied the config files over. Worked like a champ. 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the help, everyone! Sorry for wasting your time. Haha! Brandon
  10. Great question... I'll dig out a spare PC from the closet and give it a shot just to confirm. Brandon
  11. Correct. None of those off resolutions. I did search and read before posting. Brandon
  12. Yes, I read through both of those before posting this. I did not find anything pertaining to my specific errors. I am trying to rename the EFI folder to see if that will let UEFI boot work correctly. Brandon
  13. Hi everyone, I am not quite sure what else to do here. I have a new to me R720 that I'm trying to move my old ESXi based Unraid to this one on bare metal. I cannot get unraid to boot, though. I have tried both my old install (with a pro license) and a new USB stick that was setup using the unraid tool. Neither one will boot. I have also tried both UEFI and BIOS. I can add the UEFI boot by navigating to it, but then it won't allocate memory when it tries to boot. If I try in standard BIOS boot mode, it just says "This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again..." Plenty of people are using this server for unraid. What could I possibly have setup wrong? I am using the USB on the back for now, but the internal USB results in the same errors. Any help MUCH appreciated!!! Brandon
  14. I see what you're saying. So strange. I'll dig in further. It doesn't make sense to me why it wouldn't mount now but has perfectly fine in the past. I think I'll try booting to bare metal and see what happens. Brandon
  15. I gave that a shot and have attached the results. I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for. Brandon
  16. Hi everyone, I moved and started to setup my server at my new house, but cannot get Unraid to start. It will boot fine, but it pulls a DHCP address (despite having the IP set in the config file) and doesn't start the web service. I actually don't think it's reading any of the config files, but I'm not 100% sure. Where can I start troubleshooting? This machine has been running Unraid a long, long time and I'm moving to new hardware, but I don't want to lose any data and need to figure out why it's not fully loading. Technically, this is running on ESXi with Plop, but I don't think that matters for this specific issue. Thanks, Brandon
  17. True, true. No short cuts. Unless I just give up on keeping some of this data. Brandon
  18. Actually, I just remembered, I'm not putting it on ESXi next time... I bought a second server for it. Doh! I'd still hate to need a screenshot of the drive assignments and have no way of getting one. Brandon
  19. Ha! Need to update that sig. It was Plop. But my new server is on 7.0. Just installed it yesterday. Since I was on 6, it should find the correct drives and put them in the correct order, right? As opposed to having to take a shot of the disk assignments and making sure they're exactly the same before starting the array? Brandon
  20. Thanks, Doron. This is actually version 6. Or it's supposed to be. I went back and checked my build thread and it looks like I originally used plop, so I'm going to double check and make sure that's still in place as it is supposed to be. Or maybe now that I'm on 6, it is not needed? Need to double check. The sad thing is that I'm getting all of this running only to prep it to move to another, new home server (PowerEdge R720). Go figure. lol
  21. Yes, it is DHCP from my pool... I even tried setting a DHCP reservation... And it worked, but it also seems like its not reading the config files. I can't remember how I set it up to boot... It was first put together in 2012... There was an intermediate step... Maybe I missed something there? Brandon
  22. Hi everyone, I'm having a weird issue. I fired up my ESXi server for the first time after moving. Unraid seems to load in ESXi, but it's pulling a DHCP address for br0. And the network config is correct. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to get this working again? Where could this be going wrong? If I try to connect to the DHCP address, it refuses connection. If I set the DHCP to static at the original IP, still won't connect. What am I missing? I've attached my network config file. Is there perhaps a service not starting? Brandon network.cfg
  23. I'll give that a shot. I was thinking it could, but the server won't boot unless it has a Dell bios. Maybe there's a Dell it bios now. I'll check. Thanks!
  24. Hi everyone, I am switching all of my home infrastructure over to two R720s. One of them will be dedicated to Unraid (and whatever add-ons I end up doing). Do I understand correctly that the "built in" or "daughter card" PERC 310 can be used with Unraid, but won't pass all information back to UNRAID, and it will lock the server up if you try to flash it to an LSI firmware that will pass the information back? Just trying to confirm. Brandon
