  1. Parity sync finished and still having issues. Now if I go to the share directly I can't see anything. \\movieserver1\movies\Action show no files. If I go to the each individual disk i can see the files! \\movieserver1\disk1\movies\Action \\movieserver2\disk2\movies\Action etc I'm still not sure what to do at this point. Should I do a new config again?
  2. I am running an old version of unRAID (5.0.6)as this was my first unRAID server. It did it's job and I didn't see a need to upgrade yet. I had a disk go bad and attempted to replace it. I replaced the bad drive with a pre-cleared drive, booted up and then unRAID said 2 of my disks were unformatted. After doing some Googling, I did a new config and did a parity sync. That was last night. I checked it just a while ago and now I'm missing a ton of data. I'm assuming what I did was not the correct thing to do. I had a 10TB array and in my largest share (movie) it says I have 1.14TB of data. The odd thing is that when I am in the console it unRAID says that every drive is basically full (76GB free out of 9.93TB). It seems like the data is there but I have no idea how to fix it or if it's even fixable. I've attached a syslog and screenshot. Please let me know if I need to provide anything else. FYI parity sync is still technically running and has about an hour left but it doesn't look promising that any of my missing data is going to be recovered after it's done. Thank you in advance. syslog.txt syslog.txt
  3. Got a new USB and plus.key (Thanks, Tom!). All up and running now. Thank you everyone for your help. Definitely going to backup my config now.
  4. Thank you. Any suggestions on how to identify which one was my parity drive?
  5. Unfortunately, no. I think I may be rebuilding it at this point since I don't have a backup. Not sure if I should make a new thread or not but as long as I don't add the parity drive does it matter what order I put the data drives in? I honestly do not remember which drive went where.
  6. Can you tell me how to get to /boot/ and how to mount it? I can telnet to the server but I'm not sure what to do from there.
  7. Came across another thread where it said to try running "ls -l /dev/disk/by-label" to see if was labeled properly. It wasn't so I went to see if I could change the volume label on my PC and it wouldn't recognize my USB drive. Connected it back to my unraid server and it boots (can get to root), I can telnet to it but it still can't access the web interface to start the array. Is there any way to backup the USB config over telnet so I can maybe try a new USB drive?
  8. I recently had issues with one of my UnRaid servers where a contractor working on my kitchen turned off the breaker for my servers by mistake. One of my servers booted up fine but the other one froze loading "bzroot". I put the USB drive into another USB port and it booted normally (could get to root) but I couldn't access it via the web interface. After some searching I came across this thread and used the following command to reset the webserver. killall emhttp /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & I went to the web interface via IP and it came up but it look completely reset. No drives were selected and it looked like it a basic license instead of my Plus license. I restarted the server again and I'm back to square one (can access root but no web interface to start the array). I am running unRAID Server Plus, Version 5.0-beta14. I haven't bothered upgrading because everything has been working just fine for what I need. I'm at a loss of what to try nice so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Fix ended up being to just create a new config. *edit for clarification* This solution was only for the "replacement disk is too small" issue I was having. I still had to make sure any data I had on the disk I was replacing was backed up or accounted for.
  10. I had installed a 2TB hard drive into my array which almost immediately had issues (unable to read from it). I picked up a new replacement drive which was also 2TB, precleared it and am now attempting to replace it. I unassigned the bad drive, powered down, swapped the drives and powered back up. It now says Disk 4, Not Installed. I selected the new pre-cleared drive from the dropdown and I'm getting a "Replacement disk is too small" error. Again, this is also a 2TB drive so I'm not sure what it issue is. When i start the array without attempting to add a new drive it says it is mounting the missing disk and still lists the size/free size but lists it as "not installed". I have a parity drive but I do not have an option of attempting to rebuild it. Below is a link to my syslog http://bit.ly/1knk3ES Thank you in advance.
  11. I was previously using 2 2TB Hard Drives for my TV Shows and I recently added a 3rd. I have a question about the best way to configure the Allocation and Split Levels after adding the third drive. Disk 1 - 365GB Free Disk 2 - 303GB Free Disk 3 - 1.94TB Free Folder Structure = TV Shows/Show Title/Season My original config was High-Water with Split Level 1. I thought that by adding the third drive that shows would start going to the new one but they still continue to get sent to disk1 or disk2. I manually moved some shows to disk 3. I'm not concerned with seasons spanning multiple disks so what would the best configuration be for me?
  12. Yes. The drive is added to the array. My understanding is that if you left include/exclude blank it would use all available drives. Is this not the case? I tried this a few times previously but I just restarted again and it seemed to recognize the new disk. I hate that! After the last reboot it seems to be working. I copied a new movie over and it's on disk3. Thanks all for the replies. Very new to UnRaid, but I love how helpful the community has been so far.
  13. When I originally built my array I had 3 2TB drives and created 2 shares, "movie" and "movietemp". I left the share at high water (50%) and after transferring my movies over the 1st disk was at 64% and the 2nd disk was at 50%. I recently purchased a Plus license and added an additional 2TB drive. My issue now is that when I go into Shares it shows that my 2 shares have 1.72TB available instead of 3.72TB (or thereabouts). I also moved a few more movies to the "movie" share and they still ended up on Disk 1. My understanding of how high water works was that it would attempt to fill up a drive until 50% of the disk is used and the it will move onto the next available disk. Shouldn't the new movies have ended up on Disk 3 since it's an empty disk?
  14. Thank you for the replies. I think I may actually end up opening the cases and just attaching them internally. I disabled the parity drive to help speed things up a bit but it's still taking a significant amount of time and isn't even 50% done (and I have 4 more USB HDs to go through).
