Hi UnRaid Community – I'm about to take the plunge for my first UnRaid build for a NAS w/ a handful of VMs, e.g. Home Assistant, NVR (Kerberos maybe?), DuckDNS, Plex. Trying to keep cost and noise as low as possible, balancing performance. Here's the list I had in mind: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Mobo: ASRock X570 Pro4 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB HDDs: Repurpose existing HDDs from WD Book, etc. Case: Fractal Design Define 7 XL (chosen for storage expansion in mind) NIC: Asus XG-C100C (for 10gb Ethernet) PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 650 W What are your thoughts about such a system? Any major red flags? Thanks!

Hey Community – I'm a newbie here! I've been reading a lot about the Unraid capabilities however I wanted to double check whether my thought was to the right direction. I saw Linus' video about his 4K Editing NAS [https://youtu.be/FAy9N1vX76o?t=1039], as I was wondering if I could add a Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card to make it a DAS, in addition to running Unraid as NAS. Ideally, I'd love to offload my 4K footage on SSDs, create a Final Cut Library at my MacPro, connect the Mac with Unraid/DAS via Thunderbolt and externally link the footage for real-time editing. Would that work without any latency/lagging/missing frames? Also, what improvements would you make to Linus' configuration? Many thanks!

Hi All – I am a (very) new member of the community and home servers altogether. I aim to build a home server for multiple docker containers and I thought to put the following together: - Brand-new Asus Z10PA-D8 (£320.–) with: - 2 x Refurbished Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 2.5GHz 12-Core (2 x £186.00). What are your thoughts? Is the motherboard new-ish and adequate enough to handle a futue JBOD attached to it? Many thanks!
