  1. Thanks I was not very sure about that since I am very new to the v.6. I just do not want to mess with anything to cause issues for the rest of the system.
  2. To begin I will state what I have up to this point. I have four drives connect on the SATA ports on the motherboard (4Tb (parity), 2x 2Tb (storage drives), and 1x500Gb (cache drive). I got another 2Tb drive to add more space and I got a PCI-e controller card that UnRAID see without any issues. I assigned the drive and it did a clear of the drive. Then it formated it to ReiserFS, which is the same as all the other drives. It formated without any issues and shows up on the main screen. The issue is it will not add it in as part of the overall share storage but instead it created it as a disk share instead. Not sure how to correct this and any help would be great. Thanks ahead for any help...
  3. I understood how to copy the file but I was not clear what I need to add to the file to kill Telnet and FTP. Could please let me know what I need to do the edit the file? Thanks
  4. Thanks Itimpi for that answer I just wanted to make sure before trying to remove it, so good to know then. v/r, Greg
  5. LionelHutz, Thanks for the help but GrayCase figured it out, I had them all set for "high-water" instead of "most-free".
  6. Garycase, Ah got it I see that I put "high-water" instead! Thanks for the help!
  7. Can someone help me with this because I only have one user (root) and I have five shares (Subsonic, Media, EBooks, Music, and Plex) on my UnRAID server. Now the Subsonic was created on install and the Plex had to be added for using a cache only drive for the server. Now I see two user directories under /mnt one is "user" and the other is "user0" is this creating duplicate folders? Now both directories are different so I am not sure if I should copy of over all from "user0" and remove it . Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Below is how the directories look. /mnt/user Subsonic Media EBooks Music Plex /mnt/user0 Media EBooks Music v/r, Greg
  8. I understand that loss of power will affect the ones in the buffers but these files have been on the system for almost a year now. I am not sure what the issue is, but yes I have a UPS but it needs new batteries to perform the graceful shutdowns.
  9. I have seen many postings on people losing data files after a power outage or sudden drop in power. I have tried everything they tried but I am still losing one or more data media files. Not really sure why that is the case since I would figure the Parity drive would correct the lost file. Anyone has any others ideas it would be appreciated. Thanks Greg
  10. Early on the data was being put on both drives equally but all of sudden this has stopped and it puts more on one than the other. I have the share set to use both disks now I have never set the slip part not thinking it would do much good but maybe I was wrong. I could sure use some help here on this since one drive is filling faster than the other. Thanks ahead for help and I apologize if there was a post on this before but I could not locate it. Greg
  11. Garycase, Yes, and I was thinking the same thing there too since it just kind of started happening. v/r, Greg
  12. Garycase, Here is a full screen shot of the main page. Everything seems to be working fine but just not sure about the warning. It may be part of a plug in but not sure which one. v/r Greg
  13. Team, I am sure this has come up before but I have looked and tried some of the ideas stated without any results. The UnRAID is up and running with it stating down in the bottom that the "Array is started", however this black message pops up saying "unraid array not started" (see pic). It just started doing this and I am not sure why. I thought it may have to do something with a power outage so I did a few normal shutdowns and checked stuff in safe mode but it did not go away. Any ideas would great, but I think everything is working properly I am just worried there is something going on in the background I am not aware of. Thanks ahead, Greg
  14. Me either it was the craziness thing I have seen..
  15. GaryCase, Eureka! I did try all of that to begin with but the solve was removing all the SATA drive connects and then booting to CMOS. Once the thumb drive was in the number one position again shutdown and reattach SATA drives, it worked! Not sure why it would have gotten thrown out of order like it did, but problem solved! Thank to all! v/r, Greg
  16. GaryCase, Yep tried that too but here is the strange part it would not let me move any of them in any order which I found to be odd. The thumbdrive is the last one out of five drives showing. It does say use +/- to move but none move. That is what is giving me so much trouble it was all right to begin with but when the power went out it dorked something up.
  17. CaptainSpalding, Yeah I tried that but the system lists all 5 drives and will not let me put it at that top. I tried changing it to boot "removable" first and then back to "hard drive" still no joy there. Not sure it would help reformating the thumbdrive after backing it all up on a temp directory and copying it back on once it is done if that will work.
  18. The UnRAID doing a reboot when the power went out. When it came back on the system started to boot up and gets to the where it is suppose to boot into the UnRAID software and says "no boot device found" So I rebooted to setup screen to see if the drive was there and it shows up in the list of hard drives for boot. It was set right to boot from the Thumbdrive but will not boot from that thumbdrive. Any ideas? I am freaking out that my thumbdrive got corrupted and if so can I just reformat it and transfer back all the information to the drive? Thanks
  19. In regards to power supplies I found the Rosewill PSU RD600 600W RT was nice for the price but the limitation came in form of eight sata power plugs and 4 molex power plugs. If I have 15 (non-powered cages are 5x3) drives how can I extend the plug usage to meet all 15 now that also has to include powering the fans too. I can daisy chain the fans together to be used on two molex connectors. I have look through the power supplies listed and most are limited on numbers of connects. Is there something I can put on the cages to loop the power to each drive? Any suggestion would be nice. Thanks
  20. In regards to the icons on the Development Utilities and Update Utilities which all use an icon called "default.png" is there a way to change this icon to be specific to each of the items? Example "new config" would have an icon for it and only it. That way if you wanted to change the icon like you can for the "System Information" buttons you can. I wanted to customize my admin pages of "SimpleFeatures" to a steampunk theme if is even possible. Just a curious thought is all on this topic to see if it could indeed be done. Thanks ahead! Greg
  21. mrow, Ah got it!!! Thanks v/r, Greg
  22. mrow, Ok got you so far on leaving the file in the /boot/extra (that makes sinces). I was not sure what you meant by going into the user interface and set to cache drive. The plex is set to /mnt/cache/appdata/plex/Library and /mnt/cache/cachtmp/plextmp. You I remember doing something like this in the past but everything was working so good until I had two disk fail and I can't remember what I did to get Plex up and running without losing all my libraries.
