  1. I ended up replacing the hard drive. Seems to be running better under rc5 time will tell.
  2. Upgraded to rcp and I am allowing the drives to go to sleep. Froze while I was copying some files. I ran the tail command and the following was looping: Jun 15 21:46:12 Tower kernel: mvsas 0000:01:00.0: Phy7 : No sig fis Jun 15 21:46:12 Tower kernel: drivers/scsi/mvsas/mv_sas.c 2139:phy7 Attached Dev ice Jun 15 21:46:12 Tower kernel: drivers/scsi/mvsas/mv_sas.c 2198:port 7 ctrl sts=0 x89800. 3. I had a hunch, so I changed default spin down delay to 0 and so far it's been running smooth since I last posted. Usually it dies with in 3-4 days, I will reply back with an update at the end of the week. Keeping fingers crossed. Poop
  4. Froze again. It's pretty much like clock work, freezing up every 3rd night running. I attached the tail but it seems to get stuck at the end I have have to ctrl-c to break. I really appreciate your help. tail_120.txt
  5. I got another syslog with some errors: sas eh calling libata port error handler I also ran the command in telnet and I attached the output below. I apologize if I ran it incorrectly since I am kind of a newb. Thanks for the assistance! unraid_error2.txt output_unraid.txt
  6. Having some issues and apologize for the noobness. Unraid Froze 5.0 rc3 was non responsive via http and shares. Restart button on pc, several drives are red now. Shutdown completely down in unraid menu. Start server, everything is backup. Running for about 3-4 days until the freeze. I have always had freezing issues after I upgraded from 4.7 to the beta 5.x for larger hard drive support. Hardware: SUPERMICRO MBD-X8SIL-F-O Xeon = MBD-X8SIL-F-O RAID CRAD SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 CPU INTEL|CORE I3 540 3.06G 4M R MEM 2Gx2|KST KVR1333D3E9SK2/4G R MODULE NORCO|SS-500 R I don't run any plugins. Thank you for the assistance! unraid_log.txt
  7. Ide, Parallel, Serial, Sound All Disabled already. I have tried it on another machine and it works fine. I can flash it, do whatever. This machine has two different types of sata 2 port cards and they work fine. I have tried with only the sil inside of the machine and no luck. I think it may be a driver issue with this syba. Thanks for the help.
  8. Well, I tried the card again with beta 13 and no luck. Although, I did get an error message that reads the following: sata_sil24: 0xffffffff irq status = = pci fault or device removal
  9. No luck with the Syba, I am assuming it is a driver issue and just waiting for a new Kernel. I have used the two port syba sata and never had any issues. I just think it's a driver issue. Hopefully a new version of the kernel will be out soon.
  10. The video is onboard. The name comes from a lot of different stories. I had an accident when I mixed a deadly combo at Hooters. Whiskey and Hoooot Wings. These two things don't go together! I have a lot more stories and being lactose intolerance certainly never helped me out. I borrowed the name from one of the naked gun movies. I heard it and it made me laugh. Most people get a laugh when I login to multiiplayer games and they see "Poopiepants". Thanks for the assistance!
  11. Well, I added this line append initrd=bzroot rootdelay=10 acpi=off nolapic noapic vga=extended and then tried just about all of the commands below and no luck. My firmware is also the non-raid version. Although I did see some crazy vertical lines on the screen. Tried all the ones below except the last two. * nolapic o may be required to get some motherboards to work * noapic o may be required to get some motherboards to work o may be required for boards based on the nForce 5 or higher chipsets, until unRAID v4.4 final * acpi=off o may be required to get some motherboards to work * acpi=force o may be required to get some motherboards to work (Asus P4SDX may need this) * irqpoll o wastes cpu cycles, but is sometimes needed for some motherboards * pci=routeirq o may be required to get some motherboards to work * pci=noacpi o may be required to get some motherboards to work * pci=nomsi o may be required to get some motherboards to work * swncq=0 o only if needed, for boards based on the nForce 5 or higher chipsets, and possibly only for unRAID v4.4-beta2 * vga=extended or vga=6 Might anyone have any other ideas? Thanks for the help.
  12. Thanks for all the great advice. I did try updating to the latest non-raid Bios and I still had the same issues. I will try some of these boot codes and see if I get lucky. Thank you for your replies, I greatly appreciate the help.
  13. Major oversight on my part. I should of checked devices more carefully. The devices got moved around in a major way. I thought once a device was assigned it would not move around, but I was wrong. Once I went through my list I noticed everything was coming up.
  14. I am trying out the SYBA SY-PEX40008 PCI Express SATA II Controller Card. So far no reviews on Newegg.com about this particular card. The Sil3124 chipset is supported by unraid. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816124027 One of the reasons I purchased this card, was because it was only 60.00 and had 4 sata ports. It detects the drives fine but unraid just goes to a black screen after displaying some irq info. If I pull out the drives it will boot up into unraid. I updated the bios on the card and on my motherboard and still no luck. Is anyone using this card in their system? Thanks
  15. Hey All, I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem? I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything close enough. I have a GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 AM2+/AM2 AMD mother board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128342 It has a pcie16 and pcie1 slot. When I plug in a pcie sata card into each slot, one will cancel the other out in unraid. The bios sees the cards and they are properly detected. I have tried using jmicron cards on both slots. I then tried to mix it up with a jmicron and sil and so far no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  16. I replaced the sata cable and power cable and no more clicking. I've scanned my syslog and everything seems good and filled the drive with data. Thanks for all the advice!
  17. Hello, I was wondering if someone has ran into this before. I am using the regular Unraid clearing for a hard drive I just added. It is a 1.5 Terrabyte Seagate. During the clearing stage I get 2 loud clicks about every 3-4 minutes. At first I thought the HD was bad, but it does it continuously and at certain intervals. Can someone confirm if this is common? Thank you
