  1. Are unassigned devices (USB Drive) able to be spun down yet? Mine is always on and consistently over heats (it's a raid -0 unit). As it's hardly used, it would be nice if it went to sleep at some point.
  2. With all these plugins and options, is there really no setting or plugin to set your USB drives to sleep after a period of time? I have a sleep plugin but that is for the CPU it seems. Right now they have been running 24/7, and constantly giving overheating alerts. Even my router, where they were plugged in before, had the option to have the drive sleep upon idle. Normally I would avoid the use of such usb raid hdd's, but I found myself with over 30TB's, so I can't just toss them out. Should I make an official feature request??
  3. I'm using a WD black 2tb nvme on an old Sandy Bridge intel setup, using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JCLRW4V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 no issues so far..
  4. These 2 drives are from a western digital usb raid-0 drive, they started giving errors when copying files off them, I figured it was a component inside the enclosure dying on me, so I connected them internally to SATA. Should I be worried about this one? I'm hoping the errors are related to abrupt power cycling. Thought I'd get some feedback before I get the courage to add these to the array. 0x06 0x018 4 180824 --- Number of Interface CRC Errors Anyone see any show stoppers I need to worry about? 5. Anyone using this intel NIC? Any issues? Hopefully when it arrives it's not a fake Chinese knock off
  6. is there a command I can add somewhere, or better yet an already made script/plugin/app that will spin down my USB drives. I have several large drives I'd like to connect to the box but since they do not spin down/sleep, the temps are high and stay that way 24/7. I'm guessing not many choose to use USB, but I happen to have a few here so why not use them.
  7. I will look for the link when I get home from work, I might still have the tab open. Am I able to take a drive out and convert it to a parity drive? At that point, maybe I will be able to pull the 3rd drive out and preclear it, and stick it back in? Thank you for the replies. Edit: only 1 drive has data, the other 2 are brand new and empty.
  8. So far I'm loving this product. After throwing in 3 WD gold 12tb into a quick array, then filling one (Fill-Up method) I discovered the preclear script. No Parity drive at the moment, but plan to add soon. Question, am I able to remove a drive from the array and run a clear on it, and add it back, without losing data. I would like to clear out the 2 new drives that are empty, but i don't know if Unraid adds any data to the 2nd and 3rd drive that is required. I've read that with v6 you can preclear a drive already mounted in the array, but I have yet to figure out how to get the preclear script Icon to show up. Maybe I can only do it manually via cmd line?
