  1. @Koenig Now it works! I changed the vfio-bind from Syslinux to VFIO at boot via the System Devices Tool. Did this only for the GPU. The Onboard USB Controller is still done via the Syslinux Config.
  2. @Koenig I updated my XML. Still using Syslinux vfio-bind for the PCI Devices. Do I need to change that? I am not sure about the part with the <hostdev> in your post.   3. It seems to be the Code 43 aswell. Everything worked out of the Box for me under 6.9 beta 1, and now I am stuck. Windows deactivates the GPU and I can not activate it like @Koenig did. Nvidia Driver is ignored. Here is my XML. maybe someone kind find something. I tried somethings, like for example deactivated Hyper V and hide KVM (like shown in the XML), changed to VFIO Bind via the System Devices Tool, neither than via Syslinux, which I did not get to work.   4. Got the same Problem with my Windows VM. "kernel security check failure" @Koenig Your suggestions helped me getting the VM up an running again. But now I am stuck with 800x600 px resolution. Somehow the Nvidia Driver got deactivated and I can't get it installed. Using Geforce Experience I am trying to install the driver, but during the process the VM suddenly stops and reboots. Any Ideas?
  5. @testdasi @bastl I fixed it by doing a fresh install on another USB Stick. After that I transferred my config and syslinux. Restarted a suddenly I can restart the VMs. Also after adding the controller to my syslinux again I can successfully parse it to the VM. I think during the update, and later downgrade some file for the KVM Support must have broken. And going up and down between releases did not fix it. Now I am happy again with my Unraid System. Thank you two for your help. Maybe some else can use this thread.
  6. After removing it from the syslinux config, I also created a new VM (as always 🙂. Since I did not had it in my syslinux config, I could not choose it (other PCI devices) when creating the VM. I then selected mouse and keyboard as USB Devices. The funny thing is, that I can succesfully pass trough the USB controller. Hot Plug devices in the VM. And since the problem did not resolve itself when exluding the USB controller (from VM config and syslinux config), I though it should not be the source of the problem. Thank you for beeing patient with me. 😊

  8. Push🙃 Any Ideas? The current situation is quite anyoing. I have to manually create a new VM on every boot. Can I newly install the KVM parts of Unraid?
  9. @bastl @testdasi The next piece of the puzzle. I compared the XML Files of the VM before first startup and after shutdown. In total there are 26 differences. Attached is the Output of ExamDiff as an HTML file. This shows the differnces: XML_Diff.html
  10. @bastlHere is the image. I guess all the four SATA Ports of my mainboard are connected to the same controller. The thing that wonders me is that even without USB Controller Pass trough this problem occurs. So I hope it is not connected to the SATA Controller.
  11. @bastlas suggested I moved the 840 Evo to the only other available SATA Port. But that sadly did not change anything. How can i find out if the SSD is move to the right controller? @testdasi I tried using the other USB Controller (28:00.3) which gives me the same problem as described here (for the Sound Card 28:00.2). Unraid kind of freezes, I think this is due to the other Devices (maybe 28:00.0 Non-Essential Instrumentation or 28:00.1 Encryption controller) Nonetheless I think the problem must be something else than the USB Controller. Since I tried the VM without the USB controller and also removed the PCI Device (03:00.0) for Passthrough from the Syslinux Config. The problem started as I remember when switching to 6.9, but going back to 6.8.x did not resolve the problem. EDIT: Could it possibly come from a GPU Driver update? Do those also update the FW? I have done one in the past.

I created a new libvirt.img at /mnt/cache/system/libvirt/libvirt.img -> Then recreated a Windows 10 VM started successfully, rebooted and failed. 2. So I think the problem is not from the USB Controller?   14. Hi, I think it started when I updated to 6.9.0-beta1. I also tried to downgrade to 6.8 but the problem stayed. I searched the forum, but found nothing similar. Once I create a VM I can start this Windows 10 VM without problems. The second time it kind of starts I don't see the windows startup circle and one assigned core rises to 100 % and nothing happens. When I recreate the VM with the same settings it starts without problems. I use a dedicated SSD for the VM and a Nvidia GPU is passed through. This is the Log after starting the VM.   17. Today I received a PCIe USB Controller, and tried to Pass-through that one. Kind of a similar situation. 😓 I added the ID to my Syslinux config. Then added the PCI device to my VM. When I start the VM, I see the Windows Circle Thing, but one CPU thread is hitting 100 % and I can't shut down the VM and Unraid starts behaving funny. I tired Downstream, Multifunction and also enabled Unsafe Interrupts. Maybe someone can help. Logs are attached. Since the behavior is similar to the one when passing through the internal Soundcard, I did not open another topic.   18. Best All-in-One Solution for me. I am Gaming on my NAS, or NASing on my Gaming PC. For me it is a On-demand-System. I would love a build in Backup Solution. A one click solution to backup all settings and data so it can be restored from that backup. Did a backup once a month for my old Synology NAS and took it to work to keep it safe from any hazards. (I know maybe not so interesting for the >20 TB Systems)
  19. I have the same issue on a MSI B450M Mortar MAX, with Ryzen 3900. But also when trying to pass through one of the onboard USB Controllers. One of them is in its own IOMMU Group. The behavior is the same as with the Audio Controller. My quick fix for the moment was to buy a cheap USB soundcard and pass this trough via the USB Pass-trough from the VM Config. But also interested in a real solution. Mostly for the USB Controller 😶

  21. Hi, got pretty much the same problem. I am on a Ryzen 3600 with a GTX 970. All was ok for a VM without GPU, then I added the GPU (primary GPU) and that seems to start the problem for me. After that it starts by not showing any VMs in the VMS Tab and than starts freezing. I will post Logs the next days.
