@KluthR nvm: the manual backup i did, fixed all my problems: backups not marked as failed anymore, i can see the log from the last automated backup in the browser log and there is now a logfile in the backupdir. so i have not changed anything in settings just done the manual backup and everything is working properly in automated backups now again. it looks like the manual backup has reset some value or variable that caused the problem. just wanted to let you know.

but that's what i am telling you: it is not the issue and also in the failed one's the VM metadata is perfectly backed up. the Error was now only on the manual backup because the virths VM service was not running AND it is NOT marked as failed....

the manual backup just worked fine which i did yet and with ERROR that the VM XML could not be read ( which is clear, because i stopped VM service which mount the libvirt to my libvirt.img which then there is no access). but it (the manual backup i did now) is also not marked as failed anyway. there is no logfile contained in the directories (there is just a config.json with the backupsettings itself). the backups itself looks intact (this is one of the "failed" one's)

@KluthR where do i find the log files (this log is just from a manuall backup, i can't find the backup specific one's, if they exist)? i have backups with -failed at the end and there is no logfile attached to that failed backups. or is it just because of those warnings:

hello guys, i have a qeustion. but let's begin with my setup in the past: win10 vm with nvidia shield worked perfect for game streams as i had setup and easy acces via teamviewer and steam/shield. now i have a different setup with AMD GPU (my blade server not supporting big or let's say: power intense GPUs (it is a dl380 gen9 with secondary riser up to 150W GPUs but only if you have installed 1500W redundant PSUs, i have 2x500W). so actually a RX560 is installed it need's no extra power, all it's 75W is only coming from PCI-E slot. the actual question: i want to get rid of windows on my VMs (and all other PCs). i installed Garuda Dragonzed on the planned gaming VM, works perfect with virtual adapter. the only problem is wayland. other then x11 i can't go in with teamviewer, xrdp or other stuff. so i have no control over the VM before i can setup e.g. Parsec (it is installed but i can't set it up as host in the VM when virual gpu is active, even if both virtual and the radeon is passed trough). so i can't connect in any way when pass trough only is on my GPU. how do i fix this? simply use another DE (or setup a fresh VM with a garude DE with x11)? going back to windows is no option.

graka ist nicht mehr verbaut nur noch die onboard/on chip HD500 vom j3455 und die ist idle. davor mit dem 3700x hatte die 16W im idle mit nvidia treiber plugin installiert.

was ich mich wundere ist das ich C6 (einzelne Cores C7E C10) erreiche aber immer noch bei 40W bin, das ist komisch. muss das nochmal mit docker service disabled probieren, aber ich glaube da war kein unterschied fest zu stellen, zumal die nicht wirklich was zu tun haben.

also tips and tweaks hatte ich schon, da hatte ich wohl auf energy save umgestellt, weshalb wohl ganze zeit 800Mhz drin waren... das andere Plugin (coreFreq) hab ich gerade installiert, das Array natürlich nicht gestoppt und auf Test geklickt, ich vermute mein Server ist abgekackt, weil es mich aus dem Wireguard geschmissen hat 😄

Hallo Freunde, ich hab mein NAS ge"downgraded" aufgrund der Energiepreise (war jetzt nicht ausschlaggebend aber mit ein Grund), und vor allem weil ich aktuell keine dedizierte GraKa für GameStreaming etc. benötige. Ich komme also von einem Ryzen 3700x mit einer GTX 1070 mit 32GB RAM mit 130W Idle Verbrauch (alle Platten im Spindown wohlgemerkt!) zum jetztigen j3455 aus meinem alten NAS. (also nur Motherboard getauscht, SATA Controller ist der Selbe). Ich hab schon Powertop und diverse Optimierungen hinter mir, aber ich hab im IDLE immer noch 40W. Wenn ich da sehe, das manche ihrem System mit Xeon Prozessoren auf knapp 20W Idle kommen, bin ich schon etwas neidisch. Ich komme aktuell nicht mehr ins BIOS (kP warum, er startet einfach neu, Flash kann ich noch auswählen, werde am Wochenende mal probieren ein aktuelles BIOS zu flashen). Jedenfalls ist die CPU mit governour conservative mit 800Mhz auf allen 4 Kernen (leider auch unter 100% Last?!, Anzeigefehler?) Ich vermute das mein SATA Controller auch jede Menge Strom zieht, selbst wenn die HDDs im Spindown sind, hat jedenfalls ein fetten Kühlkörper (8SATA Ports), müsste ein ASM1064 sein. Die SSDs hängen am 1062 vom Mainboard. Werde am Wochenende noch auf ein PICO Netzteil gehen, aber das beQueit mit 450W hat auch Silber oder Gold Zertifizuerung (bin mir da nicht 100% sicher; ja ich weiss, die Zertifizierung bezieht sich auf ca. 80% Last). Denke nicht, das es mehr wie 5W ausmacht... Ich weiss nicht genau wie ich Stromfresser identifizieren kann, ich verbau noch ein andern SATA Controller mit nur 4 SATA Ports und Stecke ein paar Platten um aufs Motherboard. Folgende Docker laufen IMMER: -pihole-unbound -nginxProxyManager -whoogle search -mysql -binhex-teamspeak -mysql (datenbank idelt auch meist) -webserver für 3 mehr oder weniger statische Homepages und 2 Abrechnungsprogramme (open3a), meist idle (lamp-matt) -db-backup (mysql dumps aus obigen docker) -binhex-urbackup (während eines Backups fahren natürlich auch die Platten hoch, darum gehts hier aber nicht) oder denkt ihr die Anzeige meiner USV ist so ungenau? Werde jedenfalls am Wochenende mal mit dem Brennstuhl Leistungsmeßgerät messen, vor und nach Umbau. Sonst würd ich gern auf ein neueres System mit i3 (oder vllt ein günstigen xeon?) umschwenken, die 12. Gen. hat ja wieder ECC Support, das würd ich gerne mitnehmen, wenn nur die WS Motherboards nicht so teuer wären... (und der j3455 ist schon manchmal etwas träge, wenn er auch zuverlässig seinen Dienst tut) Details zum System in den Screenshots. PS: Mit allen Platten "hochgefahren" bin ich bei 60W also 20W mehr bei 5HDDS sind also knapp 4W pro Platte "mehr" ggü. Spindown. Das ist aber für den Idleverbrauch irrelevant, nur zur Info. PSPS: Ich hab aktuell bis auf 1 Lüfter alle anderen aus (normalerweise sind noch 3 120er vor den HDDs die schalt ich im Sommer an).

unraid-porn (speaking in phrases of food-porn), i downgraded my server today from a 3700x and 32GB RAM with GTX1070 to my mini-ITX J3455 for energy saving purpose. (not used the streaming machine at all and my 2 websites and 10 docker containers can be easy driven be 4 cores with not SMT) Idle power goes down from 130W to 50W (drives not spinning)

can you tell what? maybe it's helping others... like me

hello, i have trouble with installing inotify, because it says my Unraid Version is too high (6.12.4). i have random disk writes all 30 seconds (VM and Docker Service NOT running, as UrbackUp uses the array for backups, the appdata is on cache so no docker is storing anything on array except for backups), and i wanna know which plugin keeps the disk alive instead of spin down... since i can not install inotify i wonder how i can use this plugin... can someone help me out? how can i set up inotify in /boot/extra to install it by restart by unraid itself? iotop (installed with nerdpack) says only shfs is writing on it (it's jsut a second present and then goes away another 30seconds
