yeah, i grabbed your deluge and sab containers right after docker was added to unraid. I was unaware you'd expanded the template, and I don't know how to get the new template, or update the one I have. I'd like to get the newest, but don't want to 'start over' having to reset everything. I tested sab with the name servers in place, and it didn't work, removed them and it worked, added them and it didn't work, and finally removed them to get it to work. After reading this, I added them back again to triple check before writing this, and now it is working with the name servers in there. I don't think removing the /config path was the issue, since it wasn't even saving the config, and the container was actually getting orphaned until I found and removed the duplicate. Then it saved and started, but i still couldn't get to the GUI. Maybe it was just taking a long time. Regardless, it's working, with the name servers, and downloading a small file as a test (I have really terribly slow internet). If you know a good/easy way to get my template up to date with your latest, I'd like to do that. i wonder if there is any way to do that automatically, or at least get notified when you make updates, since I had no idea until you said so. Thanks again for all you do, and for your help. ***Forgot to ask; what is best practice for handling both sab and deluge having port 8118 in the template. Once one is saved, the next give an error because that port is already used. I gather that port is for privoxy, but I'm not sure how best to handle the conflict. I assume just assign a container port, but it seems odd to force us to figure this out, since both templates have 8118 as the container template by default also.

I've been working on this for a while, mostly just cleaning up/reorganizing the keys, port and paths to match what deluge has, so it was easier to compare (I wish there was an easy way to simply re-organize the existing entries). I added yes|no as default to fields where that's the option and true|false to the debug field, and all those fields show an arrow button to let you just pick. I'm not sure why the sabnzbdvpn container includes these keys, but delugevpn doesn't VPN_OPTIONS NAME_SERVERS UMASK PUID PGID ADDITIONAL_PORTS I have no idea what would go in VPN_OPTIONS, and it remains blank I removed the entry in NAME_SERVERS I left UMASK, PUID & PGID with the values that were there I have no need for additional ports, so it remains blank I also re-created Host Port 3 to use 8100, so it wasn't the same as deluge, and I didn't have to change just the container path. when I saved, I kept getting a duplicate /config error I finally clicked on the show more settings line in blue at the bottom and found a hidden container path, and once I removed that, the container saved properly and started. Viola! it's working again. TLDL; remove the NAME_SERVERS list from that field and all works again. If there is some reason those need to be there, I'd love to know, but as of now, the GUI loads, and it seems to work fine again. I don't know any way to confirm it's actually using the VPN with this change, but I do have it enabled, and per binhex, it will not load GUI if VPN isn't connected, so I assume it's all good now.

I just added a new disk and wanted to be sure it's protected. I checked and all the other disks showed green checks for Build up-to-date and also for Export up-to-date. All good so far. I built for the new disk, green check. I exported for that disk, blue X. It's brand new to the array, and blank, so fine, nothing to export I though. then I noticed the include duplicate file hashes in Find command checkbox and thought 'what's this?', so I checked it and hit find. I saw that it searched for duplicate files; awesome!! I realized that I had lots of duplicated music files in one folder, so I used Midnight Commander to move them from one disk to the other, and told it to overwrite. I confirmed that the folder was no longer on the old disk I copied from; perfect. I then came back to the tool and re-ran the find, but the list shows these same files as duplicates. I didn't expect this, since i just moved them, and also because it's telling me the build up-to-dates are correct on both disks. I assume that I need to re-build the hashes, so I'm doing that now, but was concerned that it says up-to-date, but seems it maybe isn't. I just wanted to confirm where it's actually checking for duplicates, because MC shows one of the duplicated folders isn't on the disk this tool shows it to be on. Where did I go wrong; or is there some bug here?

ha, funnily enough, I'm working on finding duplicates right now. I noticed in the file integrity plugin, there's an option to do so, and I didn't realize how many of my files have gotten duplicated (not sure how). I checked community applications for "duplicate" and found dupeguru docker, and it just finished installing. I'm running it for the first time right now, but so far it doesn't seem to be doing much/anything. I'd prefer if this tool would do it for me instead; less to install/maintain. **it only looks for duplicate files in the shares, not duplicates on multiple disks, so not a solution anyway
-
I couldn't find any "log tab", but there is a "log files" folder on the plugin page. The only thing in that folder is a file called duplicate_file_hashes.txt That only lists all the duplicate hashes it found, but nothing about any errors, or help figuring out which file triggered the error.

the problem is that you can only delete selected, not marked files. however, you can't invert the marked files to the reference files, so you can't always delete the files you want. you can't mark the selected files as another example. The combinations available just don't let you "pick" what you want to delete. The point (for me) for finding duplicates is to delete the duplicate files, but the methods offered don't let me mark or select (pick) the right files easily. If you could delete selected instead of marked, that would help, but if you could just act on either marked or selected the same way, I could get done what I want.

I think I posted about duplicates a few years ago. I want to find that post, but there's no way to search for the term duplicate and the user JustinChase. Seems like an oversight, maybe I'm just missing it.

unMENU 1.6 - now available (A major upgrade in appearance)
JustinChase replied to Joe L.'s topic in User Customizations
I've had lots of problems with some disks, but I think I've found a way to copy the data off of the affected disk onto another, good disk in my array. Once this finishes, I'm sure I'm going to have some/many duplicate files on my array. Someone suggested unMENU has a find duplicates feature. I just wanted to confirm if this is accurate, and see if this might be the best way to find and fix/eliminate duplicate files from my array. I don't have unMENU installed right now, so I can't test, and I don't want to add anything else until I get the files copied, and get parity restored. I'm running beta9 at the moment, so I also want to confirm that unMENU 1.6 will work fine with beta9, as I don't need to cause myself any more unpleasant issues. thanks in advance. -
It looks like it only showed duplicate files with different paths/names, and has no reference to the disk they are on. the file integrity plugin shows dups on different disks, like 2nd screenshot. This is what I was looking for. It just seems this tool doesn't update in real-time, as some of the dups it reported have been corrected, but it's still showing them. Oh well.

[XEN VM IMG] ArchVM <--- deprecated 01/07/2014
JustinChase replied to ironicbadger's topic in VM Templates
I'm still having problems with SABnzbd and SickBeard not being able to fully process a show from discovery to post-processing. I just restarted the VM again, and upon starting, I see this in the SickBeard logs. It looks like it's not got internet access, but I can't say why that might be. 2014-04-27 00:56:39 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-BACKLOG-188401 :: Searching for stuff we need from Regular Show season 5 2014-04-27 Also, why is the time so far off? it's about 7pm here right now, and unRAID had the correct time, but SB is about 6 hours fast, which is my time zone offest (-6). I don't see any place to set the time in SB, nor in the VM. Where am I missing the settings? There are post-processing issues also, but one thing at a time I think. Any suggestions? -
THANK YOU!!!!! Very helpful. I have owncloud running with a mariaDB now, thanks to your help. Now, I just need to figure out how to share an existing folder, without moving the files to the /appdata/owncloud/admin/files folder. I don't need/want to duplicate my files just to share them. I have /mnt/user/ mapped to /mnt/user in the template, but when I try to add new, from link it's not working. Time for more reading.

unable to stop array per the GUI, and put into maintenance mode
JustinChase replied to JustinChase's topic in General Support
Awesome, thanks again for the detailed help. It's back and parity is being checked right now. 12 hours was optimistic; GUI says 36, but I think it normally takes about 20. fingers crossed I don't have any more issues anytime soon. Once parity is restored, I'll try to finish duplicate resolution. -
drive previously showed red-balled, but now shows unformatted
JustinChase replied to JustinChase's topic in General Support
That might be what I need to do, but since I've moved about 1/2 the files off of it after the redball, I really only changed parity's perception of the drive. if I run reiserfschk, and it 'restores' the drive, all the stuff I already moved will show up again. this would be fine, as I can figure out which files are duplicates, but if there is a way to get unRAID to recognize it again, without doing that, I might not have to do the duplicate dance. Either way, I'm not familiar enough with reiserfschk to know what would be "the correct switches." -
dual red-balled drives, how to proceed?
JustinChase replied to JustinChase's topic in General Support
thanks. Once I make room, and get disk9 out of the array (one way or the other), I'll dig thru the forums and try to find the duplicates threads. Ideally, I can run something, and get a report, and can find the 'exact' duplicates, and test a few to make sure everything still works as it should (video plays, image opens without corruption, etc), then will delete exact duplicates. Then, look for duplicate filenames, and see if I have a good and a bad copy of any more files, then clean as necessary. if I have any duplicates, but with different names, that's something I will worry about another day. Depending on how the 'cleaning' of disk9 goes, it will determine at what point I 'clean house' and re-create what I lost. -
dual red-balled drives, how to proceed?
JustinChase replied to JustinChase's topic in General Support
hmmm... yeah, not much fun right now. I'm trying to move data around on the known good disks, to free one of them up, and to get some of my 'scattered' files back together. Once I have that done, I'll try to mount disk9 outside the array, then try to move everything onto the newly empty drive, then deal with finding duplicates, and eliminating them. Is there any script for this duplicate repair, or is this a nightmare, 'do it by hand' thing? if I can't automate it, I'll probably just forget it, and replace the missing data, as I suspect it will take about as long, but require much less of my time. thanks again for all the help. I sent jonp a PM yesterday, and emailed Tom & jonp this morning, but haven't heard anything back yet. I know they are busy with testing, so I'm not surprised, nor upset, but it's frustrating looking at the potential disaster, and not knowing how best to proceed. -
dual red-balled drives, how to proceed?

would either of these allow me to move or copy that date to another disk, if it's still there? Also, since I've been trying to move it after it failed, I suspect I'm really just moving the 'data' that parity has calculated, and that the data on the disk has not changed. If so, and if I can see the disk outside the array, what's gonna happen if I try to move it all, considering about 1/3 of the data has been 'moved' onto other disks? I'll have LOTS of duplicate files. how will I 'fix' that problem? I'm so not very happy right now -
I just tried starting the container I created, and I think I might have needed to add the /config location somewhere in the create box, since it's not starting, and complaining about the config. So, I clicked the add container icon, and it shows my-SABnzbd in the template box, but when I select it, the boxes are blank. I assumed it would have kept the information I had entered, so that I could duplicate what I'd done before (and could verify if I just missed entering a value somewhere). Perhaps this is a bug, but if not, consider it an enhancement request. I suspect you mean for it to populate data in the boxes, otherwise why offer 'templates'; but since they are all blank, I suspect a bug somewhere.

He said he thought needo had everything we needed, so didn't think it made sense to keep duplicate work, and asked IronicBadger to delete the thread, which he did.

I just wanted to update the thread with a couple of updates. 1. I had originally created the share "download" as a share that uses cache, but not exclusively, then later changed it to use cache only. However, in the meantime, mover had moved some files to the download directory on 2 of my disks, which caused unRAID to be 'confused' and was including the 2 disks in the size calculation of the share called "download" and also caused mover to try to move files from this (now) cache only share to the array. removing the folders from the 2 disks resolved this issue. however, I still had problems with mover not working, and giving 'no room available' error messages, which I resolved by 2. Somehow, at some point in the fairly recent history, my user share called "video" had gotten changed from use cache: yes to use cache: only, which was preventing it from actually moving the files. I finally realized this issue, then changed it back to "yes", then mover started working again. I ended up with a couple of duplicate files, which i moved with Midnight Commander from the cache disk to the individual disk, and now it seems that I finally have a 'clean' cache disk. Thanks for everyone's help, and hopefully my (self-induced) issue has raised awareness with LimeTech of a potential problem, and leads to a better product for everyone.

Thanks. I tried opening midnight commander, then moving whole folders from the cache to a user share, and that seemed to work. I assumed it would not, since normally sending to a user share just puts the files on the cache drive, but when I finished, I had over 400GB of free space on the cache drive again. Not sure how it got jacked up in the first place, nor why mover wasn't working, but I suspect it was duplicate files causing the issue. I don't have unmenu installed, so couldn't use that to check for duplicates. It would be a great addition to the core unRAID functionality though. Anyway, I'm calling this fixed now. Thanks for all the help.

I'm just installing this right now, and am looking forward to trying it out. It looks good in the screenshots. RE: slowing down the parity check due to frequent refreshes - perhaps only the parity check can be refreshed much less frequently (like every 30 or 90 seconds), as someone else mentioned. ONLY the parity check though. I think the other pages should refresh quite often, for the 'real-time' reporting. If only the parity check was updated much less frequently, it should stop the parity check taking so long while the page is loaded. I know you can close the page/browser to stop this behavior, but how often do we really need to see if it's 58.6% finished, or 58.7%? Also, this seems promising; from the GitHub page... However, I have hundreds, maybe thousands of folders. I don't want to open them all looking for duplicate files, is there any way to just 'find duplicates' without going into each folder looking for orange text? Finally, regarding this... The thing is that these are all different pages. In the stock webGui and SimpleFeatures these are loaded in a single view, the change I have made to allow tabbed viewing is that each page gets its own tab, but you get used to it. I know - been using this setup for some time now and once you get the hang of it, all goes smooth I realize that at the time and that is why I thought it would be an easy change if others felt as I did. As I said, which layout is preferred is very personal and quite subjective. That is why I asked that others weigh in and state if they have a preference. The only place where I suggested the change was on the 'Settings' page. I really do prefer your 'Main' page layout with its tabbing feature as compared to one in Simple Features (and the standard GUI). ...And I don't even have fifteen (or more) drives in either of my systems! I would agree that these tabs just cause 'extra' work. Since all the settings are visible on one page, without scrolling in SimpleFeatures, splitting them up into tabs/more places can only cause more 'work'. It doesn't really matter that we'll eventually remember where everything is, and it will be easy to navigate. The 'problem' is that you have to navigate. It will always require an extra click, since they are no longer on the same page. I know that they are/can be considered different, but since they all fit on one page, there is no benefit to putting them onto different pages/tabs. Thank you for your contribution to unRAID, I'm looking forward to using it.
