December 13, 20205 yr My system is only a few weeks old as was the flash drive - unfortunately it has failed and I didn't generate a backup I need to understand how to get my array back without losing data - any help will be hugely appreciated I wont make this mistake again
December 13, 20205 yr Community Expert First, try to copy the config folder/directory off of the flash drive. There will contain all of the setup information to duplicate your previous setup. (This folder often survives intact in this situation.) If that does not work, try to run chkdsk on your PC to see if it can recover that folder. If that does not work, post back as there are ways to figure out how the disks were assigned.
December 13, 20205 yr Author Hi Thanks for the response - just scanning the failed flash drive with some recovery software - I cant see a folder called config but it is showing a number of cfg files including disk.cfg Can these be used if recoverable ? Thanks
December 13, 20205 yr Even can't recover USB, you won't lost data, you can re-create the stick and assign disk as previous. If you don't know the order, just assign all as data disk, then got 1 or 2 disk unmountable, those will be parity.
December 13, 20205 yr Author Looks like the config folder is in tact - is it as simple as replacing the new with the old folder and then booting the server ? Thanks

December 13, 20205 yr Author Server is back up but set up is lost - disks are ok which is the main. VM's have gone, dicker containers have lost connection if thats the right description with the installed detail and access to the shares wont work I've recreated the users but still wont allow access - if I create a new share that works but the originals dont - any thoughts ?
December 13, 20205 yr Community Expert preferably with the array started Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.
