Log Getting Full

Im looking for assistance on diagnosing what is causing my log files to fill up, initially I thought this was an issue with my sas drives not spinning down causing errors, i have since installed the app from Doron (sas- spindown) this fixed my sas error but I'm still getting errors. I have attached the diagnostic files direct from my server.

If you haven't yet reboot to clear the log.

I'm a bit puzzled by this. I'm used to Linux log files automatically archiving themselves at a certain size and also being easily deletable. Are these features not implemented in the UnRAID WebGUI?

The logs are in RAM like the rest of the OS

What happens then when they overflow? You don't want to have to reboot a NAS just to clear the logs.

 

Conversely, you may not want to lose the logs when you need to reboot.

 

I realise all this can be managed manually. But is there an UnRAID tool to handle this?

You can mirror syslog to the flash drive if you need to troubleshoot or setup a syslog sever
