You guys with undetected IDE drives: please exeucte this command from telnet session & post output:

ls /dev/disk/by-path

hda is missing. 5 disks in my test system, sda, sdb, sdc, hda and hdb. i guess unRAID mistaken hdb as sdd?

sdd is your Flash device.

Has 'hda' always been detected with absolutely no issues before?

I know what non-detection of IDE is being caused by and will post -beta4 after getting a little more feedback.

Don't have a lot of time today to test, but I am unable to get to all but one of my shares from my Vista laptop so there is a permissions issue.

I did have to re-assign ALL of my disks to their logical slots in the array. None were assigned when I rebooted.  (I'm using the C2SEE motherboard)

All the disks in the newer server are SATA, and all showed in the Devices drop-down.

I can open my  "Movies" share, but cannot browse via file-explorer any sub-directory.

I cannot open any other user-share, or disk share, or the flash drive via SMB from the Vista PC.

I had previously run the "permissions" utility on the older 5.0b2 release.  I try it on 5.0b3 and it seems to return immediately. I see no process changing permissions running in the background.  For a brief second, a see a number of forked "emhttp" process, but they all terminate before "top" has a chance to refresh.

I have updated unMENU to deal with the vol_id command being missing and the new presence of "wwn" devices in /devdisk/by-id

The changes are available by using The "Check for Updates" button and are backwards compatible with older releases of unRAID.  With the updates, it should now work as before.

The advanced power management related features have been made modular.

Could you try logging in to a linux command prompt to issue a "sensors-detect", run through the prompts, then issuing "sensors" to see what your output is?

Invoking sensors-detect results in:

-bash: /usr/sbin/sensors-detect: /usr/bin/perl: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

"perl" is not normally installed on unRAID, and the sensors-detect is a "perl" script.

yes this test system worked fine at 5.0-beta2. besides, hdb although detected but doesn't show up at inventory table either.

I moved to 5.03b because of the AFP support (..a huge THANK YOU).

Quick summary:

  • I had to a assign all drives (a screenshot from the 4.7 config is very helpful)
  • I´m able to access all shares

The caveat is that I have the same access issues as peter_sm. After reboot it works just fine but after a while I´m see the same picture that he attached.

After I enabled NFS on one of my share I can't longer access the web page :-( I have this issue on version 4.6 and tom find a bug then.

But I forgot to run "permission" :-(

Is that the issue ? if so can i do that command from telnet ?

Attached is my process

See my last line in the syslog, something is not started......

You have cache_dirs running, I would disable that from starting also, just to make sure nothing is causing problems.  A true clean install is where you should be starting from.

Please make sure all add-ons are disabled and reboot.  Then post output of these commands:

ls /dev/disk/by-path
cat /proc/partitions

OK, I have only this now in my GO file

/usr/local/sbin/emhttp &

Rebooting now

Now it's working :-)

I removed one file from my share folder...

But something is not right about NFS.

Did you see temperatures in the prior version?

Are your disks spinning?  (temps are not reported if they are not spinning)

This is the first beta I've tested.  In 4.7, these adapters don't report temps, but figuring that the mpt2sas driver is in finally, I'm wondering if temps still aren't supported via it's use.

I'm testing this with an LSI 1068e and a 1064e adapter.  I see all of the devices, but no temps?

What is your system configuration as you are using Xeon CPU.

You have this for both controllers:

Feb  1 11:52:45 Tower kernel: pci 0000:01:00.0: disabling ASPM on pre-1.1 PCIe device.  You can enable it with 'pcie_aspm=force' - this is 1068e

Feb  1 11:52:45 Tower kernel: pci 0000:05:00.0: disabling ASPM on pre-1.1 PCIe device.  You can enable it with 'pcie_aspm=force' - this is 1064e

Perhaps the Linux gurus can try it out.

And you have two SSDs  ;)-not sure if the proper command will show temperature for them - it is probably good to remove them for the testing

In 4.6 if was a issue with "share security"

From Tom "If you change Share security to ‘none’ in 4.6-rc4, it will work.  But obviously I need to fix that."
