Cannot extract .zip inside share via SMB on Mac - Error identifying a writable temporary folder

Trying to extract a .zip file in my /media share from my mac.

With Archive Utility:
Getting the following error: "Error identifying a writable temporary folder. Try moving the archive to another volume."

With the unarchiver:
Could not extract [filename] archive: Could not create folder.

I'm logged in as a user who has r/w permissions in the share. I can create new folders without issue.

Fix common problems shows no issues. Ran docker safe new permissions as well, but no change.

If I move the .zip file to a local volume, there is no problem.
