(SOLVED) Plex Media Server & GTX 1050 TI

Featured Replies

Hello Again Everyone,

I have set up the Plex Media Server and it works fantastic. I noticed though that my CPU is doing all the work, however, I have the hardware acceleration enabled on the Plex settings. I am using Unraid 6.8.3 and I know very little about this whole thing.

Is there a step I am missing to have my GTX 1050 TI do all the transcoding instead of the CPU?

I am new to this whole thing, so please bear with me as I am getting familiar to this whole thing :D.

Thanks in advance!

Hardware encoding with a supported Nvidia GPU requires the installation of the Nvidia video drivers and setup.  See the Nvidia driver plugin for more details.

To do this, you will have to install the latest 6.9.0 RC2 release as these drivers will not work with 6.8.3.  The plugin will not be available for you to install unless you are running version 6.9 of unRAID.

Thank you. I did exactly this and it worked perfectly.
