Nvidia GTX970 passthrough problems. (Windows 10) (Solved)

Featured Replies

Hallo everyone.

I have some problems with a GTX970 passthrough to a Windows 10 VM and I hope some of you guys can help me.

First off, it works flawlessly with an Ubuntu VM, no problems there. But I need Windows 10 for some programs.

I've followed Spaceinvader Ones old videos about finding roms for the nvidia GPU, newer one with his script, and seached for solutions. But I seems like I havn't found the root of the problem :(

I've tried almost all the video outputs on the GPU, to see if something happened, nothing. Followed the formestioned videos without luck.

I don't really know what the next step is. Is it just a bad GPU? I don't get it? Feels like I've tried most things.

Does anyone maybe have a guess of what it might be? I can attach whatever to find the fault, I just don't want to drown you in information, so I havn't acttaced anything yet. But just say the word.

Thank you for taking your time :) and have a lovley new year :)

edit:

I think the problem is solved. The software I needed just got an update and now runs on Linux :)

I have just recently set-up my own Windows VM on Unraid and I did run into some issues with the GPU passthrough which was resolved with the help from SpaceInvader One's videos. Hope these will help you

I dumped my own VBIOS since the one from Techpower Up somehow didn't work for me:

And I made sure that the virtual bus of the GPU and GPU sound card is the same and the GPU slot is set to multifunction

I have also tried to find a VBIOS would work, without any luck. So I resorted to dump the VBIOS myself, just as in the video, which is what I'm currently working with. But again, this doesn't seem to work.

I've tried that, but without success. I've linked my XLM file, if anyone wants a looksie at it. I should be from line 101 to 115:(
My GPU IOMMU group is 11 and the PCI device numbers are:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM204 [GeForce GTX 970] (rev a1)

01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GM204 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)

XLM file.xml
