[SOLVED] Slow parity-sync speeds, 12MB/sec

Featured Replies

Hello all - This is my first time using the parity feature of Unraid.  I just added a 10TB HDD to my machine and upon starting parity-sync for the first time, I'm getting speeds of about 12mb/sec, with an ETA of 10 days to finish.  This seems very slow.

Specs:

Dell PowerEdge T30 with Intel Xeon E3-1225 v5 3.3Ghz; 8 GIG RAM

1x 1TB HDD, 1x 10TB HDD, 1x 10TB HDD (my new parity drive)

I made sure to preclear the parity drive before hand.  I don't see any errors on the drive, so not sure what gives.  If it's worth anything: in terms of powering these 10TB drives I'm going from SATA to Molex back to SATA, since the drives were shucked.

Diagnostics are attached.  Thanks.

On mobile now so haven't looked at Diagnostics yet. Your screenshot looks like it had just started and the estimate can take a little while before it really means anything. Is it still going that slow?

You were right.  I am getting ~180 MB/sec now, ETA 14 hours.  Y'know they say patience is a virtue.  Thanks :^)
