CPU-mode Emulated(QEMU64) did not work!

Recommended Posts

Hello Community,

i am an proxmox-user and i test at the moment the UNRAID-Demo for testing but i dont can select the "CPU-mode: Emulated(QEMU64)" for each VM that means when i select this opition i can create and save the VM but when i load the settings again the option "CPU-mode: Emulated(QEMU64)" will automatic switch back to HOST Passthrough.

My system is an AMD Ryzen 5 3400G on an Asrock B450 Mainboard.

GPU Passthrough to my Windows-VM works great.

Background for this is that i must need to install PFsense or Opensense on the Unraid-Server but the installer is frozen during the boot procedure. Google tells me that the problem can be the "CPU Mode Host Passthrough" @ Unraid VM-Settings.

All needed options for Virtualization in the BIOS are on but i was wondering that under Unraid it is possible to Passthrough the GPU without "VFIO allow unsafe interrupts" option on.

Can it be that i must set an special boot parameter or something to enable "CPU-mode: Emulated(QEMU64)" ?

Thanks in advance
