iStat / unMENU / iPhone

Featured Replies

I bought istat, installed istatserver, and can't connect... do I need to do anything else to get this going?

Did you look at the config in unMENU to make sure the password, port and ip address is correct?

I installed and uninstalled it twice via unMENU and it works perfectly on my iPad.

Just remember if you reboot your unRAID machine without enabling the re-install on reboot it will not work.

When I try to run it manually, I get this:

root@Tower:~# /usr/local/bin/istatd

Could not bind UNIX socket: Permission denied

It is probably already running and already bound to the port.  (Only one program can open a port at a time)

If I try to nmap that port, it is closed... any other ideas?

OK, what port is it trying to open? and as what user-id?  Ports below 1024 might be restricted to root.

port 5109... not sure about the userid

i had the exact same problem.

if you change the config file and change the user and group to root and root, then it works.

but then u are running at as root.

for some reason the user istat is not set up to have permission to bind ports

i stopped running it because of this.

if you figure it out, please post back here and thank you.
