January 2, 20215 yr My older i7-4790K started to choke on the tasks my server is running. 32GB DDR3, 4 Shares, 1 Cache, 12 Dockers, 11x 8TB via a LSI controller. Then I upgraded to a R5-3600, with it a ASUS Corshair VII Hero X370 motherboard with bios 7901. This board needed DDR4, so I used a kit had laying around G.Skill 16GB (2x8) 3200Mhz, DOCP disabled, running @ 2133, even manually set to 3200 IFF 1600, and DOCP. The moment I swapped the motherboard and CPU, I had to add a GPU, since this board has no iGPU installed, a GTX970 it was. Saw I had 2 SATA connectors free on the LSI Card, so I added 2 500GB EVO 850's. Started the system 6.8.4 Kernel 4.19, docker started no issue. And everything locked up after about an hour. Had to pull the plug as SSH commands did not execute, long pressing power button did not work. This was my experience for 8 days, daily wake up to a frozen system, nothing in the logs. I once was able to capture a picture of a connected monitor for BIOS setup/troubleshooting. Then upgraded to 6.9-RC2, as I learned from the forum that it had Nvidia Support inside with a Plug-In, and I had a GTX970 installed. I was now able to have system healthy for 20 straight hours, up to 2 times, and then once 4 days before it Panic Kernel, froze. I then limited dockers to only 2 cores, isolated one core (Core0) and limited all dockers to 512MB or 1024MB memory, since it could have been a memory issue. Nothing in the logs told me what was up, HTOP showing 17% CPU usage while the dashboard was showing all cores 99%-100%. Too give more context on my setup here are specs and screenshots, logs, .. January 3, 20215 yr Author Right, reverting back to the old Intel. Reading hours through the forums, following Spaceinvader One AMD build, it crashes and meanwhile all dockers are now orphaned and reverting to STABLE branch the Cache SSD won't show up. The article you linked is clear, but following this thread Issues and issues.
