[SOLVED] Unable to add disk to array - Unmountable...

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I am having trouble adding a second hard disk drive to my array. i added the disk to the array, i started the array and when i check mark the box to format and click on the format button, it appears like the formatting is happening, and when the page reloads,  it shows disk 2 (the new hard disk) is locked and says unmountable: missing encryption key. i will appreciate any help to get this resolved.

Did you intend to make it encrypted? Your other disk isn't.

If possible before rebooting and preferably with the array started
Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.

I was able to solve the issue. i had to go to settings and change the default file system to xfs from xfs encrypted. then i also stopped the array and went into disk 2 and changed the file system type to xfs from xfs encrypted. then i started the array and formated disk 2 and it is now displaying the disk used and free space.

thank you for the help!

That is normally already set to xfs so you must have changed it before.
