[SOLVED] Array Health Report Failed - Read Error

Featured Replies

Hi,

I received a notification with the following error on one of my disks

Disk 5 - (sdb) - active 29 C (disk has read errors) [NOK],

I stopped the array and ran an extensive SMART report on the disk 5, and the status is COMPLETED WITHOUT ERRORS.

Is my disk ok? The disk shows green when the array is online with a healthy status.

Thanks,

realized i should probably attach the SMART report for the disk in question

Since the SMART test passed disk is OK for now, but the error is logged as a disk issue, also keep an eye on this attribute:

ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAGS VALUE WORST THRESH FAIL RAW_VALUE
  1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate POSR-K 200 200 051 - 1

If it keeps increasing most likely there will me more errors soon.

ahh thank you I did notice this go from 0 to 1, when i received a warning about a week ago. Restarting the server seemed to clear the error from the CA Common Problems. Thanks for the help
