Unraid server no longer accessible via server name in browser

Featured Replies

So I have noticed recently that if I try to type in my server name in the browser the server will no longer pull up. I have to enter in the static IP address in order for the server to pull up.

When I check my network drives out I can see the server and everything pulls up that way. Any ideas what would cause this?

I am running mac os x 11.1, unraid 6.8.3

Is your server the local master?

Make sure that the SMB configurations on both the server and the client have the same Workgroup name.  Ideally, they should also agree in case.

EDIT:   Google the MAC OS version if there have been recent changes or updates to it.  Check to see if anyone (in the world outside of Unraid) is reporting similar issues.

There can be problems as SMB will only allow a single login from a client computer.  One way around this is to use the IP address rather than the server name...
