ohj
I've created a 'data' share for most of my family's data (movies, photos, documents etc.), and currently have added separate users for myself and my wife. Both users have read/write access to the 'data' share, while guest access is denied. But I see that I have write access in the 'data' root directory, but not in the subdirectories. Following one of the other forum threads I saw that the user rights on the directories could be an issue. So I checked with 'ls -la', and got this directory list. I noticed that the topmost directory had different user rights than the rest. And lo and behold, in that directory I had read/write rights! Now, the files and directories in this share have been tossed around on various drives and computers for a couple of decades. So I have no idea if the user rights are what they should be, or even if the topmost directory is what it should be. What should the user rights of the files and directories in a unRAID share be set to, and how can I set them recursively throughout the share? Quote Link to comment
ohj
I've installed the CA Fix Common Problems tool, and I'm currently running the Docker Safe New Permissions process. So time will tell... EDIT: Running Docker Safe New Permissions solved my permissions problem. I now have read/write access in all share directories from Windows.
