RX 5600 XT qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Unable to power on device, stuck in D3

Featured Replies

I upgraded my GPU from GTX 660 TI to RX 5600 XT. If I reboot unraid I can launch and use VM (windows 10) without any problems. If I close VM (windows shutdown) or it goest hibernate I get error: qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Unable to power on device, stuck in D3. I can't use GPU before rebooting unraid.

This is a "amd  reset bug"? Is there fix for that already or should I sell this card and buy NVIDIA?

Thanks for the help.

The AMD bug should only happen on a force shutdown.

What are you running as your processor? This was common problem with threadripper 1st gen/MSI motherboards. Try a bios update; check your IOMMU in bios and make sure its on.

If both these don't work I recommend overriding the IOMMU Group to both --- Setting - VM settings -Advanced. Then remaking the VM.

There is a patch for the reset bug:

You can find a tutorial on how to compile it on my Unraid-Kernel-Helper Thread in the Docker Container subforums
