January 19, 20215 yr I start the hard drive array and notice HD errors, I stopped it to replace hard drive. I put in a new hard drive and its keeping the old configuration. Could I reset everything to start from the beginning?
January 19, 20215 yr Tools, New config. If that's not what you are asking, you need to give us more info. "Reset everything" could mean different things.
January 19, 20215 yr Author doing a new install it was taking 8 hrs to do the Array, I notice i was getting a lot of errors, I stopped the array process (it didn't finish). now im trying to replace the hard drive but the old configuration is still there and it is saying disk missing. I thought if I could clear the whole install and start again that would work. I don't know how to do that..
January 19, 20215 yr Community Expert Why do you think you need to replace a hard drive? Connection problems are far more common than bad disks. 1 hour ago, jonathanm said: give us more info A simple way to give us a lot of info is by posting diagnostics. If possible before rebooting and preferably with the array started Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.
January 19, 20215 yr Community Expert Is there any data on the server you want to preserve? SMART for the 3 attached hard drives looks OK. Is one of those the disk you wanted to remove, or is it no longer attached?
January 19, 20215 yr Author The 3TB was giving a lot of errors, I removed and add a 1TB. I guess the 3TB wasn't going to work. I trying to understand how this works before I buy 4TB hard drives. Getting the array started is taking long. 6-8 hrs. I want to getting a NAS with remote Access. This is an 4 year old i5 with 16gb RAM, Is this ok?

I think there is a very good chance there is nothing wrong with it. Install that 3TB and leave the others installed then post new diagnostics. Doesn't matter how or whether you assign them, I just want to take a look at the SMART for that 3TB disk
January 19, 20215 yr Community Expert I see you have a RAID controller. Make sure it isn't using any RAID mode. Unraid IS NOT RAID, and using hardware RAID controller in any RAID mode can cause problems.
January 19, 20215 yr Community Expert Check connections, power and SATA, both ends, including splitters. And make sure your controller isn't using RAID.
