February 6, 201115 yr I've messed up and might have been a bit of an idiot! I have just tried to add three new blank drives to my array (via the web GUI), as they have just finished pre-clearing. I stopped the array (of three existing disks - two data + one parity), and went to the 'device' page to add the disks. However, when I selected the first drive from the drop-down list, the web GUI locked up so I had to crash out of the browser. However, I could no longer get back in to the web GUI. So I went to the terminal on the unRAID server, and ran: shutddown -r -t now This normally shuts down the server and restarts it, however it locked up on reboot, so I had to hard power it down. Now this seems to change the USB stick, and prevents it from being a bootable device (not sure why). So I formatted the USB stick, reinstalled the unRAID software, added the Pro Licence key, reinserted into the server, and restarted everything. Everything has booted up properly, and I can now access the web GUI. Unfortunately though, it is now showing that there are no disks in the array (i.e. they are all unassigned!). This is a little scary as the data disks are obviously full of data! I don't want to reassign them and they get instantly formatted and the data removed. Can someone advise me of exactly what I should do to recreate the initial three disk array without losing all the data? Thanks in advance.
February 6, 201115 yr Author Not to worry, I think I'm alright. I have reassigned the disks, and the option to reformat did not come up. I can now access the shares again (after I recreated them) and all my data is there.
