Mounting two SSDs in a drive-bay through USB is not working

Featured Replies

I have an external 2-unit drive bay with USB, for hard-drives or SSDs. I have 2 SSDs attached in the drive bay. When connecting this drive bay to unrain with USB3 i can only mount one SSD at a time. Even though i can see both SSDs in unraid (i have unassigned devices plugin installed).

Is this a limitation of USB or unRaid or is it something else?

Connecting the same drive bay to my macbook lets me see and use both drives at the same time.

Thanks!

It is a requirement of Unraid that each drive present a unique 'serial number' as that is how Unraid identifies drives (not by how they are connected).  It sounds as if the bay is massaging this information and not doing this.  It is a known limitation of some bays while others pass the information through just fine.
