¿How to disable the standby power of the connected USB device?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me to do something like this in UNRAID please?

or failing that, how is this done in linux?

I want to remove power to a USB port that I have a cell phone connected to, every time the computer goes to sleep (s3 sleep mode)

I don't want the cell phone battery to explode, because I have the cell phone connected all the time

If you have electronics knowledge and can solder, this is pretty easy. Take the + 5V (not the + 5VSB) line (from the PSU or a HDD/SSD) and solder a USB socket - done. Every time the computer is switched off or goes into sleep, the power supply to the socket is interrupted - it's that easy. 😉

Much easier:

Take a Molex-Extender and cut the +12V-line (Yellow). Keep the +5V (Red) and on the other end of the cable, solder the USB socket (from an old cable).

If you can't do the work, just buy a Molex-to-USB Adapter 👍
