What is actually stored in the appdata folder?

Featured Replies

Due to some very unfortunate events I lost the data on my cache...

But I have a backup of the appdata folder. How does that help me?

I don't really understand in great detail how that works, I reinstalled some of the dockers I lost and restored the appdata. Should the docker behave now as before? Where does the docker store it's settings?

Most of what you would think of as data is stored within appdata (ie: the library / watched status for Plex)

You can use the appdata backup plugin to periodically make backups of it to the array and then restore the folder if your circumstances happen again.

I see! Currently trying to reinstall the docker and work with the backuped appdata. Got PLEX back up and running. Now I need to see if I can safe my Unifi docker.

@Squid Is there a way to identify which docker used the data in the appfolder?
I need to set up my Docker again and am not 100% e.g. which Unifi Docker I had in the past. Can I somehow extract that information from a file in the appdata/unifi?

Do you see the docker you used if you go under "past apps" (or something like that - going off memory) in the community apps tab?

The good thing about that awesome feature is that not only has your apps/docker install history, it also remembers the config you used with it. That basically means reinstalling everything is a one click affair.

Thanks, good point. Will take a look at that later.
